I literally just realized I forgot to plant my asparagus this summer after you mentioned it. Shoot! Thanks for the reminder!

You could totally put flowers bushes all along the front of your beautiful house! What a great video, thanks for sharing for us newbies over here!

Yes that is the plan! Has been for 5 years 🤣 but somehow it just never gets done, maybe next spring!

We just moved into our homestead last November. I’m so glad we started with fruit trees and bushes. I was bummed to not have a vegetable garden this year, the first year I haven’t in 10 years! but my husband and I decided we really wanted fruit and eggs for the first year. Pigs, bees and veggie garden next year! 🎉

Just found your channel. I love your content so much. Would love to see homestead tour / house tour. Did you build or renovate? What did you think about for future when building? What would you do differently?

Hi Kim! My husband built our house 5 years ago. There’s still so much we need to do to finish it but we knew it would take a long time when we started. My biggest piece of advice is to be on site 24/7. 90% of the stuff we subbed out went horribly!

Been there in most of these situations. At least we learn from them, right? And, of course, still learning! 😂 I love how Jess Roots and Refuge says to use your waiting period as a classroom. That is the best advice I’ve ever gotten towards preparing to have a Homestead. We have had some adventures though.

❤I just found your channel looking for recipes, I visit my in-laws farm near Rolla and I’m learning a lot before moving here. I’ve watched a couple of your videos and I’m trying your liquid detergent first lol. Thank you so much for sharing your experience😊

Loved this video and the tips. Currently living on a one acre plot and keep pushing things off for when we build our new house and homestead on the larger plot of land we got. I can start learning and doing things now on a small scale. Thank you for that reminder. Would love to see a walk through of your farm house, currently designing the floor plan for our house and I’d love insight as to why you chose to build your house the way you did and if there was anything you’d do differently now that you know

Hi Kayla, so excited for you!! Building is fun but a LOT of work! I would do so much differently, our house is about 2100 square feet and I’d have gone smaller, not done open concept (too loud), built a cold room into the basement, done a huge family closet in the laundry room, made the laundry/mud room bigger, and had some big picture windows with wide sill on the south facing side for starting seeds - not that I’ve thought it over too much 🤣🤣

Keep learning! We live on 1.5 acres and there is so much that can be done on 1! Go get it girl!
Very excited for your bigger piece of land! Blessings on your new home build!

My husband and I are wanting to live homestead one day soon as we actively plan towards this. I was praying about it and the thought came to me “there are things I can do now to prepare myself for the lifestyle and work involved!” Thank you for making this video because it confirms what I feel the Lord was telling me. Also, have you done a video on things to look for when you are ready to buy a homestead knowing what you know now? ✝️🙏🏼❤️

As you learn to do Homesteading activities, that will also help you decide what you will be looking for. If you learn to make cheese and love it, then you look for somewhere you can have a milk, cow or goats. If you love making sourdough bread you look for somewhere that has a kitchen that allows you to explode with sourdough! I love the fact you’re listening to God! Blessings on your future homestead!

What is the proper way to freeze produce?

We are in the market to buy a house soon, just trying to find the right place. However, in the mean time we’ve started a gluten free sourdough starter & have been practicing making bread with yeast while it matures. Our oven broke a couple days ago, do you know any ways to make bread or even use our sourdough once it’s ready that don’t require an oven or bread machine?

Are there face products you use to have such amazing skin? I’ve felt with acne my whole life, and even into my late 20’s. My face is just so sensitive and I’ve changed my diet. I know it’s genetic on my dads side.
I did order some earthly stuff, so I’ll see if that helps at all.
