You two are adorable I had a completely disorganized and neglectful childhood. There are a few channels that have showed me what life can be like. I'm 47 now. But knowing that people like you and your families exist helps my soul
A dream without action stays a dream. There is no perfect time for a dream. You guys were part of my inspiration into retiring from my job in Norway, buying an abandoned farm in Central Portugal and starting a TH-cam channel.
I started my dream last year. I built a barn by myself. Milled the trees from the property. Purchased 2 beef cows and 3 sheep. Already had 20 chickens. Purchasing 6 pig's this year. I still work a 40 hour a week job but will be full time farming in 5 years and will be the happiest since my daughter was born 23 years ago
We lived in Alaska for 8 wonderful years. We left and returned to Idaho then moved again and ended up in Missouri on a small ranch living our best life. We are currently building our home with our children using lumber from our own sawmill. Very rewarding experience!
We did it. We built our home from scratch in the woods of NYS. We literally drove home from the closing on fumes because we paid for the property with every penny we had to not be in debt. We lived in one small room. Literally sleeping on air mattresses in the kitchen while we built onto our house as we were able. Craigslist free finds were a staple. We didn’t have to buy much materials. And 8 yrs later we are still working on it. We are 100% off grid. No power or wires of any kind come up here at all. So we had no choice but to be off grid. It’s been an amazing journey. And we are raising our family and our food here in the forest. 🤗
We were married 45 years ago and always wanted to buy a little farm but life took on a hard road. We raised five beautiful children. Then retirement finally came. I’m turning 70 this March and we finally bought our dream three years ago. 100 acres with a barn Md house. We now have 60 layers and raise 40 meat hen and also some turkeys. I’ve never worked this hard but I love it so much. We have a very large garden area we are building up as well. Anyway we enjoy your videos and wish we were your age doing this. Follow your dreams. Live your life free of the worlds ways. Love the Lord, your partner, your family and your lives will be blessed.
Months ago I was operating an excavator in Saudi Arabia and I found myself digging deep into your old videos and podcasts... since then I've had a fire in me to take my family out of town and back to our roots. Your family has driven me to be more for my children and my wife. Thank you Aust.
Such an exciting journey!! The road will have some potholes for sure, but you will manage I’m confident. I’m 73 and I have not gotten to see all my dreams come true, but I’ve been truly blessed. Mom to 6 grandma to 9 and worked 50+ years as a nurse, and retired just 6 weeks ago. God is good.
I know exactly what you guys are feeling. My wife and I had this little spark inside us ignited into a huge dream of moving and building an off grid homestead in alaska, and that's exactly what we're doing. The experience will forever be something we are grateful for and the life you create by doing it from the ground up will be one that you cherish forever. So proud of you guys for taking the leap. It will come with struggle but you can overcome anything you set your minds to!
I’m so very happy for you! I also had a dream to build a cabin and go off grid! We got the shell of my cabin done. Then….. my husband got sick. I had to become his full-time care-giver and the cabin got put on the back burner. It’s been 8 yrs. The empty cabin is still sitting and just getting weathered. My dream is gone and the cabin, sitting empty and unfinished, is a sad reminder of my long lost dream. I have my own health issues now also. Probably from all the years of stress and worry caring for my husband, so I’m not able to make my dream a reality. I am glad you haven’t given up on your dream and are going for it! I look forward to following your journey!
Something very similar happened to me too. I gave up my late husband and my dream as well , my health is declining so is my mental health state , dreaming alone is not for me.
The yurt is absolutely gorgeous !! beautifully appointed, so full of light & open space & totally cozy & totally speaks the word HOME to me. My mother lives her dream in a canvas over a wooden frame, house tent off grid homesteading as well. If it's good enough for Mongolian horse nomads , on the windswept, frozen, highland steppes, it3s good enough for American homesteaders.
YT hasn't been showing me your videos the past year + then this one came up and I remembered finding yall in 2020. We have no background in growing food or livestock. But. My husband's goal is to homestead... and it's become my DREAM. It came from nowhere 4 or 5 years ago, a fire that just keeps growing in my heart-- a passion & urgency. I have spent almost every day, especially the past 2 years, learning and wishing and working with what I can in the burbs, turning this waiting room into a classroom. We are a military family with little say in where we move (& often when) and little time to grow deep roots... but someday (soon??) Thank you for sharing this. I can't wait to cheer y'all on and learn even more for our future. God bless you!
Your story is beautiful! We hope you know the impact your farm and channel has had on so many of our lives. We had backyard chickens in the city when we started watching your channel. Now, we have our own little 16 acre farm. We still refer to Homesteady videos! Which animals are you taking with you????? We are so excited for your family and can't wait to watch how it goes! ❤️
Thanks for sharing Virginia, we read EVERY comment and LOVE these ones that remind us why we do this! Love hearing we helped others start in some tiny way 🥲 not sure yet who is coming, but our favorites will be there for sure!
@@Homesteadyshow we will definitely be going on that journey w you guy's. We aquired our farm through contract for deed (still good people out there); and we NEED to build a new home ourselves too, and want want it to be off grid as well. But this spring it wasn't financially in the cards for us, and spiritual warfare had a part as well. Hopefully our small channel (1.68K subs) will take off, and this spring we can get started right w you guy's. I left my nursing career b4 the coof started.....2 of our 3 kids have been dx w autism and lupus following certain childhood interventions.....that we are not allowed to speak of.....and I intend on bringing more content on how to maintain health holistically, and identifying wild plants to do this. This winter (since things are slower in ND) we intend on doing a series of videos....on how "science" proves God, and referencing scripture in the process. I tutored Chemistry and Anatomy in nursing school, and it's my niche....hope it helps bring more people to Christ. Be the Light in the Darkness is what I usually say. And you guys have definitely been a Light in the Darkness for us🥰
@@homesteadingintheheartland8106 Sounds like you're on top of it. It was a cabal bankster trick to begin with to get us to move from farms to cities; good to see so many more people turning back to a life more balanced in nature and community on small farms. I will look for your channel.
I remember watching you guys at the other farm. Now I’m on my own Homestead living my dream. I love this life. Enjoy your life enjoy your dreams. I love you guys. ❤❤❤
I'm do excited to see your build!!! You have inspired me to move out with my family into a multi generational property. Not only do they need help because they aren't getting any younger. I get to bring my gardening/homestead skills out to teach my boys while having the land to do it!! Congrats to you all. May God bless you and your sweet family.
At 58 we just moved to an almost finished cabin in the woods in Tennessee with five acres and a barn down the road! Lots of work to do but we are loving it most days!
Electric sparks are beaming off you guys! Ya'll look so happy and just precious! God bless your journey. You two will do fantastic! Bravo! Cant wait to follow your dream journey.
I grew up on a 300 acre dairy farm. My family sold the dairy cows but kept the land. My wife and I moved away when we got married and have been planning on moving back to the family land. We were very reluctant to buy or build out there because of the price of lumber. Just in the past couple weeks we have finally decided to start renovating our old dairy barn and starting our homestead. We hopefully will be starting in a couple weeks. Hopefully we will be starting our own TH-cam channel and can provide people a family oriented experience like y’all have. Thanks for the all of the information I have learned from your channel. Good luck on your new journey.
I am so happy for you, your parents are so fortunate to have you and vise versa. As an orphan I must admit I long for what you have. It blesses my heart to see family in action. God, family, country 🙏 ❤
I have been watching y’all for a while. You are such an inspiration…. Thank you for sharing your journey. My family has plans to significantly downsize and start our homestead journey in the middle of June to be as debt free as possible and build a very small home. Our budget will also be very low. It’s a very exciting journey. I get so much information from y’all.
The world needs more dreamers like you. Way to teach your children! You have spent years growing your knowledge and now is the time. This is your time. I adore the joy you both exude. Looking forward to watching the journey.
This is encouraging. I'm trying this with my husband and you're right, it's not easy. I'm so glad you all have support and help, as that helps. It's just us and we aren't anywhere near wealthy, but feel it's necessary to get out of this system as much as possible. I'm trying to find an arch building that doesn't cost a fortune. That's the most cost effective thing I can think of for a house. Plus I've always wanted to live in a Quonset hut. Anyhow, thank you for sharing and keeping us posted!
Awesome! Good for you guys! I wish you all.the best. I think it is great for you to share and be totally transparent regarding the cost of the build. I think people underestimate the cost of a farm start-up.
this is honestly exactly what I needed. I want to start planning what it would take for me to start building a homestead and you guys sharing your methods and prices for everything will be so so tremendously helpful.
I grew up on a small dairy farm here in Maine so after retiring from the military after 25 years, I bought one of our old family farms. It’s been a steep and difficult learning curve
My father in law escaped Eastern Germany in the 60’s with $19 dollars in his pocket. Worked on the rigs in Northern Canada, taught himself English and put himself through Medical school. He then bought land. Through everything he learned in Germany, being self-sufficient was critical. My dear father in law is now on palliative care for cancer and his wish is for the farm to stay in the family. We are honouring his final wish. I’m a suburban girl through and through and my in my early 50’s, I’m starting a new chapter as a farm girl. I’m cramming as much info as humanly possible into a short time and draw from peoples positive experiences. I plan to start just with gardening and maybe a freeze drying business on the side. I’m studying herbal medicine and planning my spring beds. Although I’m incredibly blessed by this gift and SO EXCITED, I’m also worried my old bones won’t be able to keep up with the workload. I can’t wait to watch your journey as I soak my joints in epsom salt nightly 😅
Your at the perfect age! Still strong and energetic..DO IT! My husband and I started our homestead and built our home at the age of 57! Boy did we feel it. How I wish we would of started younger. But we were in a different place at that time.
Wow.... I am so excited for you guys..... You have such a beautiful family God will be walking this journey.... I would love to see it with you. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I did it!!!!! I started a TH-cam channel a couple months ago called “ Thankful Abode”. We only have chickens, an indoor aquaponics garden (thats my paralyzed daddy’s hobby) and I’m learning to garden with outdoor raised garden beds. In 2017 my father broke his back and now is a paraplegic living in a wheelchair. I’m his full time caregiver. He strives everyday to make the best of it and I’m so inspired by him that I thought it would be good for others in his condition to see that many things are possible no matter your situation. Even homesteading with help from me and my husband. We are having so much fun on this journey and are striving to grow and learn and live a more self sustainable life. Thank you for all the great videos. I’m learning so much from you guys and many others on TH-cam.
Pretty awesome. I spent many years growing up, out in the country, with just some exposure with animals early on. I have been looking and talking about wanting to find a new property out in the country for a few years now. Start of 2022, my wife finally said, "yes, let's do it." We put an offer on a property in November and we are working on closing on it now. I turned 50 this year, wife is 42 and we have three kids, with the oldest being 13. 11 1/2 acres and looking to homestead. It's neat listening to your journey. I just ran into you yesterday and have listened to several of your videos so far. Thank you for sharing. My daughter is wanting to record the experience and maybe even set up a youtube for it. LOL So, we'll see. Blessings to you guys.
In 2016, we got started on making our dream a reality & bought some land. By June of 2017, we moved into the house that we had designed & built ourselves. Sadly, on June 26th of this year, that dream went up in smoke. We lost our house &, consequently, our 2 businesses; leaving our family of 14 homeless & unemployed. Yet, the dream didn't die & we're building again. Thanks to the insurance payout, we now have no mortgage & we're able to pay for this build with cash, completely debt free! After 5 years in the previous house, we're making some small, but good changes this time around & our eldest 6 children are 5-6 years older & adult size now, giving us some much needed help! We're still doing as much as we can ourselves legally & we're hoping to be up & running our business (a catering business) by June. Good luck to you guys! It's going to be an amazing journey!!
Gaaaahhhhh!!!! I'm so freaking excited for you guys!!!! You can't see me but I am doing a happy dance!!! I have a very similar dream! I plan to build an off grid homestead in the desert of Arizona with alternative/natural building methods! Eeeek! I am so excited to see what you guys do!!!
Well I'm surprised. Of course I'll be watching. I have been watching since before Luna was born in Connecticut. Congratulations! Will you eventually be bringing your animals to the new place when the time comes. I know this is gonna take alot of time. Im gonna love this. I'm sure everyone will. You guys surely know how to keep everyone interested. Lol. God bless you all💜🙏
We moved into the city 4 years ago. I’m country sick though so I talked my husband into getting me a piece of land so we actually have an offer on 57 acres of land. Hopefully all will go through and we can build our homestead on about 30 of those acres. We have decided to build a barn with a loft that is living quarters. Good luck in your future endeavors. I am new to your channel and looking forward to seeing you with your dream! 😊
So excited for you guys!!! Such an incredible journey and it intrigues me even more since I’m in the same boat right now. Can’t wait to see your adventure unfold! 😁
I love your story and your wanting to ignite others' fires. For us, we put an offer on a house last year with 7.7 acres for me to start my homestead for my family, but it didn't work out. It just came up for sale again and now we can't afford to do it with the housing market and interest rates. I'm devastated :( But I can continue to live vicariously through you all :). Congrats
I can’t wait to see where you go and how you do this! We picked up 40 acres with a small maple tree area, approximately 15 ton of orchard grass (from the first cut, and we only do one), a barn, a machine shed, two small ponds and a tiny cabin. We aren’t living there yet as I have about 5 more years until I retire at 50 (my husband is already retired, 4 years now). We are putting in a standpoint we’ll for a temporary water supply in a couple of weeks and we are really excited to see how it goes!
Just Started watching you guys, but I am very excited for you! My wife and I just purchased a house with about 4 acres a month ago, which is why I started watching. We have SO MUCH work to do to take this neglected old property (and house) and create our best paradise, and watching your guys' videos gives me a lot of hope and a lot of courage to make all the mistakes I know we're going to have to make. Good luck, looking forward to more videos!!!
Congratulations on taking your dream by the hand! I am hoping to start transitioning away from running my Full Time business to start homesteading FT by next Spring. 🤞
What an amazing dream and journey you have been on and continuing on! This is such a wonderful life experience you are living and sharing with your kids and us!!! Congratulations!!!!
Sounds good! I look forward to hearing more. Finally have my own farm for six years now also, horses first, now chickens; (processed 3 roosters this week); meat birds but not the overfat ones; will lay and when done I'll get meat; I also bought raw land; lots of work doing cleanup and making it productive, esp if one wants to be environmentally-friendly to other critters... Totally on-grid here in SC farm country, but I spent first nine months in a used older RV while house was being built, and that was pretty rustic for a bit. All good. I bought the RV from neighbors who had used it while building their house themselves; sold it to other neighbors who use it as a she-shed and guess quarters.
Pretty emotional video for you guys! We just bought our 2nd property that is a lot bigger than our old one and we are learning a lot here. It is our 5 year plan and for sure our classroom! We are so excited to find our forever and fulfill our dream building our own house and farm!
Just discovered this channel. Used to live on a small 20 acres farm. Had to leave it for hubby’s career, tried to live in town for 7 yrs. Health crash. Now waiting for our closing date on 5 acres. Already have my chickens. Now to get the town property sold, to pay off new place. Fingers crossed.
So wonderful! We went from big city, Dallas to country, 6 acres. Now, just moved out further. 29 acres, tiny home. Raising sheep, goats, chickens. Awesome way to spend retirement 😊
Happy for you all. Will be very interesting to watch and learn. 12 years ago a Septic System cost around $4,000 and We'll was $8,000. The Septic System was for 4 people. Yours will of course be more cause of family size lol. Can't wait to watch transformation. Can't imagine leaving that Great Barn but I'm sure you'll build a bigger and better one. Only thing is where will your new Homestead be. Mystery for sure. Just wondering if close to Homestead your on? Know you don't want to give exact location. Peace from WV
Good luck following your dream! Sounds like an awesome project and I can't wait to see your new home and the awesome content that's going to come with it! 😃🎉
For the last 6 years, I have been researching everything I can about homesteading, (small) animal husbandry, Eden Garden farming, etc. My husband and I are both disabled and living in a senior majority community, and it makes sense to us to plant a garden that will eventually take care of us even when we cannot take care of it. For years, all I could do was dream about this project because we had huge obstacles in our way, mainly our shoestring budget. In the course of the last week, we have secured a 12'x20' garage that we intend to turn into our Racken House and tack room, and 1- 15'x20' and 1- 20'x40' farm buildings for a fence, raised garden beds, and other various projects... we got all of these supplies (which includes additional lumber and tin sheets) for free from an old farmer who was ready to burn the buildings down. We have also had some extra cash come in to purchase heirloom-only seeds. We only have a few steps to go before we are ready to introduce animals, and it is all moving so quickly now that I can hardly believe it. God is so good, he knew I was going to need the knowledge I accumulated so that when this all started coming together, I would already know what needs to be done and do my part to make it happen. We live on a third acre in a 100-year-old farmhouse in town so our only options for livestock are rabbits and chickens. Our town recently passed a code restricting roosters due to the noise but I am working to appeal the code to include a clause that allows keepers to try a no-crow collar to diminish the nuisance. I don't think it's right to restrict someone's ability to feed their family by preventing them from having a generational flock and free potential broilers, especially in our current climate. It's a bit funny, when I was growing up I could never decide what I wanted to be; I toggled between a singer and a teacher mostly. I ended up in menial labor for over 22 years and wrecked my body being the employee who goes the extra mile. Now that I'm officially a grown-up, all I want to be is a farmer. The older I've grown the more important the food that goes into my family's bodies becomes to me, and I know that the healthiest food you could ever eat grows closest to your door.
Oh my goodness you are the reason we own a family milk cow today and have for going on 5 years. We outgrew our tiny 2 acre homestead, sold it, and recently purchased acreage closer to one of our daughters and her family. My husband and I are starting over from nothing but cutover timberland. AND we are eligible for senior discounts most everywhere we go😂. At our age (59 and 70) we are more excited than we have been in a long time. We will be documenting our progress on our channel to hopefully inspire others to reach for that homesteading dream. Kay and Aust, you have been such an inspiration to so many, if we can inspire others in some small way what a joy that would be. Excitedly waiting to join you on your new adventure! God bless y’all❤️
Been watching you guys for a few years, what seemed overwhelming and impossible as a single mom became a reality end of July. Each video bolstered mine (and I’m assuming many others) courage to think… maybe I can do this too? Well here I am sitting on forty acres completely off grid with my three youngest still at home. First three weeks was the hardest. Now every challenge/problem that we overcome, just boosts our confidence that we can do this! I am starting with a skoolie and soft sided barn. We will build our own home with our own hands too:) either earthbag or cordwood or a combination of both! Thank you so much for putting yourselves out there. You have been and will continue to be I’m sure a huge help in being inspired and learning practical things on running a family homestead:) Best of wishes in pursuing your family goals and dreams. It will be hard, but you’ll make it:)
I also am a single Mom with a similar dream. Right now my 4 yr old and I are growing veggies in front of our apt front step. I am now known as the garden lady in my complex. 😁
How exciting! While definitely not my thing, I’m happy to support your dream and tune in. I still dream of finding grandpas farm to restore. We currently already homestead but in a home built in 1991. Nothing feels like grandpas farm.
We just took the leap to go all in on dream of homesteading! I signed the papers on our property in May in the middle of my homebirth and then we moved in June with our 6 week old and 2 year old! Unexpected renovations put a pause on all of our homesteading dreams, but this year we are hitting the ground running and I even started a youtube to document this journey!!
I'm so excited and happy for you guys. Your kids are gonna be impacted in a huge and awesome way by this, as I'm sure they have been by each step of the journey you've taken. But I suspect this off grid cabin homestead thing will be the one that your grandkids and great grandkids hear about a lot.
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 My husband and I have dreamed for years of having our own farm 🚜. I believe this is finally our year to make it happen. We just need to tie up a few loose ends before we hoist up stakes and move out of the city for good. Blessings to you and your family!
I have been watching you guys for a few years. Love your family and content! We finally bought the family farm this year to make it our own running homestead. My children are 5th generation to be on this farm!! We started a TH-cam channel this year from all the inspiration watching your channel. Such a cool experience for you guys!!! So excited to see it all play out for you guys.
Well this just made me cry tears of hope. I'm on a 7 acre property in South East CT. I've been here with my husband and kids for 11 yrs renting. During that time we had a deal with the land owner regarding the eventual purchase of the property and permission to begin to farm, which we did for 5 years until we realized We were the only ones upholding our end of the deal and The landowner abandoned responsibility. Long story short, The landowner filed bankruptcy and included the house. It is currently bank owned and we have a lease through May, but we are praying that we can see our dream realized through the purchase of this property. We've always dreamed of owning this place. It's not a cut and dry situation, but I believe in miracles. I birthed the youngest 2 of my 7 kids here. I miss my animals and my big garden. I'm believing that I'll be picking up where I left off here instead of relocating to another state where land and a home are affordable. If we can get this place... We can afford to stay in CT! Thank you both for the encouragement this morning.b
So happy for you. I’m 54, widowed and have always been a city girl. God has put new desires in my heart of country-life, farm animals and being a steward to the land, animals, community. I’m seeking His direction and trusting the process, timing. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I am so excited for you guys! Your channel and your story is the reason we actually got a milk cow. Your channel is the reason why I started our homestead channel so that we could document and show what homesteading in the desert is like (and it’s still a new channel, but we’re getting there 😂). Thank you so much for all the videos thus far that have helped my husband and I make the homesteading decisions that we have made ❤️
Absolutely love hearing this! Getting people started on their own dreams is such a big reason we still do this! Thanks for sharing! I’m gonna checkout your channel now!
I gotta say, you guys solidified in my mind I need to build a family farm. Looked into land in my area, because I don't want to leave my area, but getting chickens and cows and some sheep and ducks, wife loves the idea, is helping me look for something suitable, nice and wooded so I can mill and use out own wood. I was a lumber Jack for about 9 years, and I miss that work. I can't wait to build my own home and have somewhere my kids can grow up, and you guys showed me it's possible and all I've gotta do is start somewhere.
We used to watch a lot of your videos but fell away recently. We’re not big farmers. So excited to see this next step in your journey. We bought our homestead two years ago and are currently working on it. My favorite thing so far is our sawmill. It takes a lot of work and time but being able to make our own lumber from trees we cleared is huge.
Good luck guys and God bless!! You helped me feel closer to my dream back when you were in Connecticut, now I'm on my acre in the country in what God planned for me, and it's beautiful and I love it. Keep dreaming and I hope you enjoy the journey towards your goals!
Really 😱. That's Wonderful my Fine Friends 💖🐦🍁 I'm so Pleased that your Folks are on board , such good memories in the making🙌. Now will we see more of you? JO JO IN VT 😆💕
Congrats! We did this four years ago, the housing isn't self made completely, but we got some frames and we've been slowly making our off grid homestead work! One day we will build another small structure for Hubby and I once the kids are older exactly how we want it on our 20 acres here in the Australian Bush!
I’m very interested on this journey. I’m looking to clear raw land to build and seeing someone else go through the process is great! The loans or lack of, doing it debt free, surveyor for the land, clearing cost…nice to see someone else doing it
Wow, you look just like your dad! It looked like you sitting there!! Anyway, we are literally in the process of selling our home and buying some wooded land to build our small cabin. Best of luck to y'all!
Love this! My dream was to have my own little farm. I got that last year. Nothing big, but I can provide for my family. I love it. Congratulations you all
Sereiously. Good for yall. My wife an i are currently looking for the same. same situation. I was working on my retirement cabin, and met her. that never got finished. so we stayed in the city, especilly with a lil one on the way. but practical really isnt practical. rental costs and all. now they are a little older and looking for more suitable land than what i was doing for myself.
I’m a new subscriber and this is probably the 3rd video of yours that I’ve watched. Hearing how both sets of parents are going to help you is making me emotional! Lol I’m 54 yrs old and am just starting a homestead. I’d love to have my dad here to help. He passed in 2006. Are you starting over completely with no animals?
Wow, that's really exciting, guys! You gave me a nudge to get to where I'd love to own/operate a grazing operation of my own someday, and find a special someone to help me out with it and my other crazy ideas. ❤❤
Can't wait for your new adventure. I've dreamed of farm life, finally achieved it in 1996, I'm 70 now but have loved every minute of it. Know where near to what you've done, just chickens a few sheep and veggies now.
We are doing something similar! Just bought 43 acres and will build a couple of cabins to live in while we save up cash to build a strawbale house. We have so far put up a tunnel house and installed the food forest, just starting with the veggie gardens.
Wow! This is incredible. I have been watching your channel for awhile now and am so excited for you guys! My wife and i are moving to a piece of property and hope to be homesteading ourselves. Really looking forward to continuing to follow you guys.
We had the yurt dream ish. We just went for it. We were scared but decided to just take the jump. Last year we bought 32 acres on the other side of the province. We built our own cabin and starting our homestead with a garden chickens and pigs in the spring! We have 3 young children (6,4,4months) and are very excited to start this journey with our family
We are so happy you guys are doing this. We are closing on 31 raw acres in the next week or two. We are also starting from scratch and can't wait to glean all the information we can from you guys as we build our own homestead from scratch.
Always strife to fulfill your dreams. I am 80 my husband 84 we still are going for our dreams. We built out a ProMaster van. It was a great project for the pandemic. This last month we built a larger run for my 6 chickens. 5 years ago I did my first build, a beautiful chicken house with attached run. Since then I built 3 more. I also learned to machine quilting. I admit it is very taxing on the body, we both have health issues but if you quit they will through dirt on you. We have learned to hire some of the more taxing jobs like digging the holes and setting the fence post. The satisfaction you get seeing the job completed is well worth the pain and struggles to get there.
I can’t wait to watch this journey! I can’t help but think of Gods perfect timing with it. They way things are right now, and where they are headed, a self-sufficient off grid home is perfection!
You two are adorable
I had a completely disorganized and neglectful childhood. There are a few channels that have showed me what life can be like. I'm 47 now. But knowing that people like you and your families exist helps my soul
My childhood was similar. I still haven't overcome the consequences.
I’m with you. It’s so odd to me to watch loving families; I marvel. 🧡
Wow, yes! That’s awesome!
That sounds really cool!
Very cool we moved from Georgia 23 years ago to our 40 acres here in southern Missouri... where are you located
Love the Lord, your partner, your family and your lives will be blessed.
congrats, sounds good!
Months ago I was operating an excavator in Saudi Arabia and I found myself digging deep into your old videos and podcasts... since then I've had a fire in me to take my family out of town and back to our roots. Your family has driven me to be more for my children and my wife. Thank you Aust.
I’ve been in that same excavator listening to podcasts starting fires! Keep at it!
I listen to podcasts all the time when on my tractor doing farm work or even doing other farm work and house chores, also driving.
Congrats on retiring and thanks for being a nurse helping people soo long a time!
Us too. Than you Alaska state land sales!
So sorry you and your husband didn’t get to finish the dream cabin, but I’m glad your here with us following this journey!
Praying for you and your husband, that God will meet your deepest needs.
caregiver here too, sending prayers. dont neglect your needs!
Yay! Congrats on you getting your own homestead!
Suuuuuuuuper excited for you guys!! I'll being praying over this transition and new chapter. Thank you for sharing! You guys got this!!
Good luck guys! Just started ours last year in Virginia.
Oh I hope you get that land!
@@Homesteadyshow thank you so do I. I love your content btw.
@@Homesteadyshow we have an accepted offer no we just have to pass our due diligence and it’s ours!
Congrats
I love how real you guys are 🥰looking forward to seeing what you do with your new homestead!
Oh good! I just found you and I’m excited to see the next phase of your family journey. 👍🌻
Your vision validates ours and excites us to keep moving forward!
Good for you two!! I live in a dry house (small) 13x13. I absolutely love it.
Each video bolstered mine (and I’m assuming many others) courage
to think… maybe I can do this too?
Well here I am sitting on forty acres completely off grid with my three youngest still at home.
First three weeks was the hardest. Now every challenge/problem that we overcome, just boosts our confidence that we can do this!
I am starting with a skoolie and soft sided barn. We will build our own home with our own hands too:) either earthbag or cordwood or a combination of both!
Thank you so much for putting yourselves out there. You have been and will continue to be I’m sure a huge help in being inspired and learning practical things on running a family homestead:)
Best of wishes in pursuing your family goals and dreams. It will be hard, but you’ll make it:)
Yes!!! So awesome Raven. Skoolies are cool! Happy to have been a tiny part in nudging you to do the dream!
I also am a single Mom with a similar dream. Right now my 4 yr old and I are growing veggies in front of our apt front step. I am now known as the garden lady in my complex. 😁
I love this! I just posted about how it seems so impossible as a single mom. Go you!!! One day I’ll be there too!
@@Fallforwardfarms don’t give up. All it takes is the persistent passion of getting there:)
How exciting! While definitely not my thing, I’m happy to support your dream and tune in. I still dream of finding grandpas farm to restore. We currently already homestead but in a home built in 1991. Nothing feels like grandpas farm.
Watching you all the way from Africa-Kenya. I feel so encouraged by you to start the pig farming I have been postponing for eons
I agree with you both it is time to start. I wish you both the best in your new homestead. God bless
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐
My husband and I have dreamed for years of having our own farm 🚜.
Congrats on buying the family farm! That is exciting!
@@Homesteadyshow thank you! 😊
Really 😱.
That's Wonderful my Fine Friends 💖🐦🍁
I'm so Pleased that your Folks are on board , such good memories in the making🙌.
I got chills listening to you guys talking about fulfilling your dream. I hope you are going to take us along on this journey too.
I’m very interested on this journey. I’m looking to clear raw land to build and seeing someone else go through the process is great! The loans or lack of, doing it debt free, surveyor for the land, clearing cost…nice to see someone else doing it
The new adventure sounds fun to watch. Best of luck to you two!
Beautiful and inspiring level of love from you guya. This is exciting me to start the bus project ive been dreaming of for 10 years... ❤
This is so heartwarming! I just praying God blesses your journey.
This sounds like such a fun, scary, exciting journey! I'm excited to be able to share the experience with your family 😊
Congrats! How exciting is this? You’re going to build something amazing that will be in your family for generations to come. 🎉🎉🎉
Wow, you look just like your dad! It looked like you sitting there!! Anyway, we are literally in the process of selling our home and buying some wooded land to build our small cabin. Best of luck to y'all!
This is what we’re doing too! Very amazing story. Feeling the same tug. Good for you!! There’s no time like the present
Love this! My dream was to have my own little farm. I got that last year. Nothing big, but I can provide for my family. I love it. Congratulations you all
Congratulations!
You guys encouraged us to just go for it. We watched and learned so much from you. We did do it and love love love that we did. ❤️🙌🏻
Awesome! You two walk the walk. God bless your new adventure.
Congratulations, I look forward to following along with you guys on the new farm ❤
Good for you guys!!!! What an amazing opportunity to work with your families and create memories.
Doing something like that with all your family is awesome - I am excited to see it unfold❤️
We're starting on our real dream too! Good luck and God Bless guys!
Congratulations on working toward your dream especially since you 2 are so young.....very exciting.
That's going to be the WAY more interesting phase in your channel! I'm sure gonna watch each and every video!
What province are you in? We're northern Ontario.
Good Luck!
Can't wait to see how it goes!
Keep Smilin!!!!
We are so happy you guys are doing this. We are closing on 31 raw acres in the next week or two. We are also starting from scratch and can't wait to glean all the information we can from you guys as we build our own homestead from scratch.
Wow great timing! Keep us posted!
Awwww that is awesome! Congratulations ❤ cannot wait to see where life takes y'all.
I can’t wait to watch this journey! I can’t help but think of Gods perfect timing with it. They way things are right now, and where they are headed, a self-sufficient off grid home is perfection!
