The housing market in Austin is severely over speculated. Wait it out if you are going to buy.

not every house in Ausitn is worth $400k-$500k it seems thats what everyone is trying to get these days
It's pure greed by builders, agents and investors. They want to act like there's a bunch of reasons why things are overpriced, but it's really simple. Greed.
Live in the pod , eat the bugs ... You'll own nothing and be happy.
He is a realtor with no idea of all the market factors that will affect this market. Austin is not sustainable and wages are not increasing. Look at the days on market for these homes. Realtors will not tell you how bad the market is because they want you to buy. It is highly unadvisable to buy in this market right now. Keep saving your money and wait for the downfall, it will be the buying opportunity of a lifetime.
Only 50% more and maybe I can finally buy a home, but I doubt it. Only if the border gets locked real tight. This "crash" won't happen, there are TH-cam channels that have been talking about a crash for 18 months. What Austin really needs is about 100,000 home owners to move, not only out of Austin but out of the state entirely.
What do imagine the boarder has to do with this?
