Side-Project: Fixing my Windmill Generator

As my home Robot project has gone slowly this week, I've decided to share my latest upgrade (well, 'repair' might be a more accurate way of putting it..) to my windmill. It doesn't put out a lot of power, but it's cute, and during the usual 3-day power outage we have each winter, it's able to give us emergency lighting and keep our phones charged.

When you have a windstorm can't you put a brake on to stop the thing from spinning ? So it doesn't self destruct.

I probably should, but whenever we get a windstorm I get greedy and start trying to see just how much power I can collect.. 🤣 The last iteration survived a blizzard and two tropical storms, so I think it was more likely the plywood 'hoop' deteriorating that caused the failure rather than the actual forces involved. I expect the new metal one will hold up much better.
