    These are next on my list but watching videos on Truman boots and everyone saying that they are not true cap toe, had me thinking for a minute but then I remembered you can go on there website to chat with them live. They confirmed that all of the Truman boots are true cap toes! So that was great news to hear.

      Wow that's great to hear, yeah when I was looking at this during the unboxing the cap toe layer appears to be thicker than the rest of the vamp.

      @@DavidsGarage1972same hear, while watching your video, it was noticeable that the toe area looked like a double layered toe. I’m really enjoying your content and it’s a breath of fresh air compared to others! Subscribed and keep em coming too! Great boot collection!

    I just picked these up for Black Friday since I wanted a pair that looked like Timbs, but weren't Timbs 🙃

    I’ve owned 30 pairs of Truman Boots all the tongues have been partially gusseted. 2 pairs in Seidel dark coyote rough out, totally waterproof leather no need to spray with protector.

    wow a size 10.5 shoe and 10 sized iron ranger? I wear a size 10 in shoes and got fitted for a 8.5d in iron ranger. Went with a 8.5d in a Parkhurst boots too. I think I can pull off the 9d but I prefer to brutal break in lol xD. Nice boots!

      Yeah I've read a lot online of people being sized by Red Wing too small, not saying yours are, I just went with what felt right on my foot. As long as you are happy with the fit is all that matters.

    I have considered these

    i just pick a pair of these boots. the vamp is stiff. how would you recommend to break them in. applying leather softener inside vamp ?

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      If it's the vamp giving you trouble, I probably wouldn't apply anything to the inside. If anything I would just work the vamp by flexing the boot, bending the boot where my foot would bend, maybe do that and hold it like 100x. Or I would put them on and just kneel in each boot like 50x flexing the toe vamp. What I did was I actually had one of those cedar shoe trees that I got from Amazon that have that metal spring that you have to bend and to get the shoe tree to fit in the boot. And I left that in my right boot to stretch the vamp upward. Because the right boot was putting pressure on my instep.

    Nice boots. What size did you go with, are they the same size as Iron Rangers?

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I went with my iron ranger size which is a 10D, these fit very similar for me

    Truman looks gorgeous but whats the deal with the super wide throat area when you put it on. Is it even comfortable? Look too wide to me

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it fits good. Maybe because that tongue leather is super stiff it was hard to tighten the laces.

      @@DavidsGarage1972 but you see when you put the boot on, the distance between the left and right eye at the top is so damn wide. Do you not feel it to be off visually ?

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@blakesheppard4093 Oh you mean my instep and ankle width. Mines sort of high and sort of wide. The length and width of the insole fits my foot really nice but volume is a whole other thing when sizing boots and its probably more important than length and width. But with ready to ship boots and other boots that are not bespoke they are not adjusting the boot volume according to a person's foot circumference measurements so they way the quarters meet at the eyelets will always vary from person to person. There is no perfect width or distance between the eyelets and I understand some people may prefer them to meet closer, some people may even prefer them to almost touch, but I am not too worried about how they appear in the video as the leather will stretch and as I wear the boots more and more the distance between the eyelets will probably settle around 2-3 finger widths in distance which is the generally recommended distance between eyelets.

    Is your sizing on the 79 last the same for Whites 55 last?

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, but in my experience the 79 last feels more roomy. For white's 55 last I probably could have gone up a width because my foot is on the wider side but I don't mind the snug fit.

    Truman is still doing fake cap toes? That’s disappointing. I know they used to do that when they were not located in Oregon. Saw the pair Bedo had to repair.

    • @DavidsGarage1972
      @DavidsGarage1972  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes I'm almost positive they don't do true toe caps, I think they do that to try and not make the profile too bulky.

      Majority of the companies do fake cap toes, only few do real like redwing iron rangers.
