And, I love seeing a different perspective than jus the governing body...I am a very confident person, but they constantly try to passive aggressively “put me back in my place” or change my personality. Don't be surprised if your family "respectfully asks you to no longer talk to them" whether you are baptized or not. When I left the JW Cult to live as my true self, despite having only become a unbapitized publisher, they still acted as if they had to disfellowship me. It hurt quite a bit, as I still have mental breakdowns as a result. My advice looking back is to prepare and acknowledge that fact and mentally prepare yourself for such a scenario. Other then that, I am happy to hear you are planning to leave. There is so much more to life than having to preach everyday and suck the dicks of the governing body. There are people out there that actually care for you no matter what and want you to become the best person you can be. Just hang in there. Things will get better.

When I was a child I used to actually HOPE THAT I WOULD DIE so that I didn’t have to experience Armageddon. That is not a healthy thought process for an 8 year old.
This video scared me so bad as a kid, I used to have nightmares and even small panic attacks sometimes, because everything I knew was just about to end. For 7 yr old me that meant no more cartoons, no more house, no more friends, no more video games, they even told me that if it came to it, we’d give up our dog and just let him die in the wild, which ACTUALLY messed me up, no joke.i thought that any day I would wake up and the world would be ending. I just wanted a normal childhood like other kids. No doubt this organization contributed to my mental health problems.
They say material possessions are bad, but I’m very sentimentally attached to things like my plushes, dog and switch. I don’t want to give them up because I have so many good memories of them.

It's not only Christianity. Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, Hinduism, and even the Norse have predicted and preached about the "end time" apocalypse for literally centuries but nether have come to pass and we are already past 2020 now.
Well, what Jesus ‘evidently’ meant is that the generation he referred to was a future, overlapping generation of people. It’s all about context. Same when he talked about the ‘other sheep.’ Rather than say a direct ‘earthly class’ of followers, he left it hidden so that only those with divine insight would be able to figure it out and represent the true faith. All the while that God desired none to be destroyed, of course.
It’s not just the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I don’t have a clue where my catholic mother is getting it from but she’s been talking like the second coming is seconds away. I’m starting to worry about my religious family members- especially the elderly- it seems like there’s an air of desperation on them that’s entirely unhealthy.

I have often wondered why I have always been so paranoid my whole life. It makes perfect sense. I left the LIE at age 23 I was raised a JW from day one, I'm 41 now...so much has changed, Thankfully I never fit into the organization so it was easy to leave it. Most mainstream Christians believe all Christians are mostly like them, with just detail differences in doctrines, they have no idea of the hatred/condemnation in the likes of JW and NIFB and so many others. They'll just vote Christian by reflex, not asking needed questions.
Being persecuted for something you believe in to the point where you may lose your life is a real fear faced by people of faith in third-world countries.

I remember having nightmares that we called "Armageddon dreams" as a kid, and that was back in the 70s! This religion really messes with the minds of little kids, and has done so for decades. As it turns out, most everyone I talked to about it in the congregation also would sometimes have "Armageddon dreams." It's so clearly mentally damaging that I'm surprised more isn't heard about it in ordinary society.
My response to a JW who said I was going to be 'in trouble' if I didn't accept Jehova was this. "Better to be an Apostate than a Prostate!" Needless to say, they were not at all happy with me, but I didn't care and neither did my coworker, who couldn't stop snickering.
Here's the thing that always bugged me about the bunker video: They went through all the effort of hiding out like that and having secret knocks and shit but then both didn't have a remotely hidden door and didn't bother to lock it.

I left the religion just over 2 years ago, when I was 21, for the better half of my teenage years I knew it was something that had to be done, but the shunning and possibility of losing your family is the hardest part. Luckily my family still talks with me, and as such I still keep my ear to the ground in what’s going on with the religion. The fear mongering with the end times nonsense the JW’s spew is absolutely insane, all they care about is that the end is coming, and the false hope of seeing dead love ones resurrected, enough to make anyone sick, but certainly gives you a different feeling when you were once involved.

I think it's also worth mentioning JW parents writing into Watchtower telling them the videos are too violent or scary for their children to watch are in some ways questioning the governing body, and then this episode just shows the two clips that parents wrote in to complain about which the children would be made to watch again as like rubbing it in their faces. I remember seeing the bunker schtick in an earlier video but it is still worth repeating that someone did not do their proper research in small unit tactics or proper room clearing. No small arms or use of flashbangs or even kicking in the door. So the bunker video loses it effect except on the those who take the Kool-Aid through an IV.
I just know that in the continuation of the bunker video, they will pull out 2Kings 6:14-20. Because we know how much Watchtower thinks that the whole bible was written only for them and about them. They love to pull the prophetic card.

Last year there was an international meeting in Argentina and one of the attraction for the tour was this simulation of armageddon where they would get you in a tunnel and then recreate women Crying, babies screaming, gunshots, etc etc, I'm not sure if I should call it trauma, but it sure had left me with a big impact, specially towards strong noises, to a point I feel scared. I don't want to write something no one wants to read, so if someone is interested in what this tour was like or went through something similar last year I'd like them to comment, i will answer any questions
I remember going to an actual Youth Group every Wednesday with my friends and our pot smoking selves. One time we asked about JW’s interpretation of the word, and our Pastor straight up said “they need reading lessons because they read the whole thing wrong”. They encouraged us not to be rude to them, but if they came around to be polite but to let them know that we “have an different interpretation of the Bible”, and also to say “don’t worry God is forgiveness, he’ll even forgive you too”. Surprisingly I got to put this to test and it worked marvelously.
It’s so crazy because I still have some type of PTSD from this. Every corner I used to hear that Jehovah is going to bring destruction on this world and if you aren’t bathtized you’re not going to make it. I’ve been out of the religion for 3 or 4 years now (best decision I ever made) but I’m still suffering from it. It taught me morals and what’s right from wrong which I’ll always really appreciate. But it feels like I wasn’t able to do anything. The family I grew up around was toxic, so toxic mixed with this religion is hell. It still makes my chest tight whenever I hear that armageddon is coming. It’s to the point that whenever it happens it just happens, I don’t even care anymore. Thank you for all these videos you make on about this religion, when you get out it feels like looking on a literal cult. I just want to take life one step at a time. I remember these types of things from my days in the pentecostal church. I went to a denomination college and once at chapel, they staged a hostage situation where they "executed" the chaplan in front of us. It was traumatic. I'm breaking into a panic attack just thinking about it. After that, they told us this was practice for the coming war on God and if we didn't react with bravery, we weren't right with the Lord. I dissociated so hard, I had an out of body experience. People wet themselves. People were cowering on the floor. Last I checked, mock execution is a torture method. We all genuinely thought we were going to die. I've heard of several pentecostal churches doing this to their teenagers youth meetings.

I'm 37. Really tried to be a part of the organization for years, but I never felt part of it. Most of the brothers and sisters, baptized or not, older or younger, didn't even notice that I was there. Didn't feel the love we read about in the bible.

It's not only Christianity. Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, Hinduism, and even the Norse have predicted and preached about the "end time" apocalypse for literally centuries but nether have come to pass and we are already past 2020 now.
Well, what Jesus ‘evidently’ meant is that the generation he referred to was a future, overlapping generation of people. It’s all about context. Same when he talked about the ‘other sheep.’ Rather than say a direct ‘earthly class’ of followers, he left it hidden so that only those with divine insight would be able to figure it out and represent the true faith. All the while that God desired none to be destroyed, of course.

I have often wondered why I have always been so paranoid my whole life. It makes perfect sense. I left the LIE at age 23 I was raised a JW from day one, I'm 41 now...so much has changed, Thankfully I never fit into the organization so it was easy to leave it. I helped convince my mother to leave years ago, I am thankful for people like you Telltale. I've watched you on and off for awhile now.
I can't wait until their message changes to judgement. It will be difficult, if impossible to come back from that, and if they stop taking new members, they will hopefully die out without needing to resort to outright bans.

I remember having nightmares that we called "Armageddon dreams" as a kid, and that was back in the 70s! This religion really messes with the minds of little kids, and has done so for decades. As it turns out, most everyone I talked to about it in the congregation also would sometimes have "Armageddon dreams." It's so clearly mentally damaging that I'm surprised more isn't heard about it in ordinary society.
My response to a JW who said I was going to be 'in trouble' if I didn't accept Jehova was this.

I was raised in a conservative evangelical home. I learned recently from my dad that he at one point considered joining JW when he was younger. I feel like I’ve dodged a whole other bullet by him not joining.

I left the religion just over 2 years ago, when I was 21, for the better half of my teenage years I knew it was something that had to be done, but the shunning and possibility of losing your family is the hardest part. Luckily my family still talks with me, and as such I still keep my ear to the ground in what’s going on with the religion. The fear mongering with the end times nonsense the JW’s spew is absolutely insane, all they care about is that the end is coming, and the false hope of seeing dead love ones resurrected, enough to make anyone sick, but certainly gives you a different feeling when you were once involved.

I think it's also worth mentioning JW parents writing into Watchtower telling them the videos are too violent or scary for their children to watch are in some ways questioning the governing body, and then this episode just shows the two clips that parents wrote in to complain about which the children would be made to watch again as like rubbing it in their faces. Ridiculous
I remember seeing the bunker schtick in an earlier video but it is still worth repeating that someone did not do their proper research in small unit tactics or proper room clearing. No small arms or use of flashbangs or even kicking in the door. So the bunker video loses it effect except on the those who take the Kool-Aid through an IV.
They also just walk in there like 🧍♂️
I just know that in the continuation of the bunker video, they will pull out 2Kings 6:14-20. Because we know how much Watchtower thinks that the whole bible was written only for them and about them. They love to pull the prophetic card.

The difference between me and my in-laws is that if there was a situation so dangerous that there was a need to be in a bunker either my child would be there with me or I wouldn’t be there. They refuse to see the logic in my statement that “If my son isn’t with me, I’m not in paradise.”
Last year there was an international meeting in Argentina and one of the attraction for the tour was this simulation of armageddon where they would get you in a tunnel and then recreate women Crying, babies screaming, gunshots, etc etc, I'm not sure if I should call it trauma, but it sure had left me with a big impact, specially towards strong noises, to a point I feel scared. I don't want to write something no one wants to read, so if someone is interested in what this tour was like or went through something similar last year I'd like them to comment, i will answer any questions
I remember going to an actual Youth Group every Wednesday with my friends and our pot smoking selves. One time we asked about JW’s interpretation of the word, and our Pastor straight up said “they need reading lessons because they read the whole thing wrong”. They encouraged us not to be rude to them, but if they came around to be polite but to let them know that we “have an different interpretation of the Bible”, and also to say “don’t worry God is forgiveness, he’ll even forgive you too”. Surprisingly I got to put this to test and it worked marvelously.
It’s so crazy because I still have some type of PTSD from this. Every corner I used to hear that Jehovah is going to bring destruction on this world and if you aren’t bathtized you’re not going to make it. I’ve been out of the religion for 3 or 4 years now (best decision I ever made) but I’m still suffering from it. It taught me morals and what’s right from wrong which I’ll always really appreciate. But it feels like I wasn’t able to do anything. The family I grew up around was toxic, so toxic mixed with this religion is hell. It still makes my chest tight whenever I hear that armageddon is coming. It’s to the point that whenever it happens it just happens, I don’t even care anymore. Thank you for all these videos you make on about this religion, when you get out it feels like looking on a literal cult. I just want to take life one step at a time. It felt like being brainwashed all these years and I’m still hurting from it but I’m slowly healing. I hope you have a great day and also again thank you so much for making these videos 💜
I remember these types of things from my days in the pentecostal church.
I went to a denomination college and once at chapel, they staged a hostage situation where they "executed" the chaplan in front of us. It was traumatic. I'm breaking into a panic attack just thinking about it. After that, they told us this was practice for the coming war on God and if we didn't react with bravery, we weren't right with the Lord. I dissociated so hard, I had an out of body experience. People wet themselves. People were cowering on the floor. Last I checked, mock execution is a torture method. We all genuinely thought we were going to die.
I've heard of several pentecostal churches doing this to their teenagers youth meetings.

I'm 37. Really tried to be a part of the organization for years, but I never felt part of it. Most of the brothers and sisters, baptized or not, older or younger, didn't even notice that I was there. Didn't feel the love we read about in the bible.
