My Dad, pilot Harry Stoliker, gave up his small craft license for the pleasure of flying his Ultra-Light. And by coincidence it was a QuickSilver. Flew down to Oshkosh a couple of times. But this is so cool. I wish he was still alive to see this - and no he did not die in a crash. Great work! Amazingly watchable program. Try selling this - get to a sales convention. This will sell.
Hey great review guys well done very informative and funny! The Quicksilver looks like it would be a great little park flyer to fly and relax with in the evening. Awesome show guys I really look forward to your videos keep up the super job!!!
I really want to see you guys try and make a super slow flying wing. Try to get the elevons behind the pusher prop...or maybe a mid motor thrust vector with full length elevons. That would be a cool episode. Love this channel and what you guys are all about.
@flitetest Hey Flitetest, can you do a review of the HobbyKing Minimoa 2 meter wingspan Glider? Also, dont you guys have any videos for ppl wanting to buy their 1st plane, transmitter and tips on how to fly the first few times?
I'd suggest removing the extra weights altogether and using a bigger lipo to balance the model. This weigh you eliminate dead weight and get longer flights as well.
lets say your hands stop working for 20 seconds? will this plane auto correct itself? or is that only the fogey? pretty sure you said it would fly right because of the high wing? is there a auto home on these like the quads? could a beginner fly this thing fairly easy? cool videos keep them coming.
Woo! This takes me back! With a 50 hp rotax you can really climb steep! But uhh, mine had a rudder! With a rudder you can do wicked hammerheads. And I think the stalling speed is actually lower in the real one?! 17mph
LOL... I helped Lovejoy with Dave Cronk carry the first one up a hill at Coyote Hills back in 1972. "Never fly higher than you are willing to fall" was the saying. I had an attitude back then and lucky to be here after breaking the rule on my first flight. I wasn't the least bit afraid when I should have been terrified. Enough kids helium balloons tied together to lift you would have been MUCH safer than the "thing" I flew made of plastic sheeting held on with tape as you could pop a few to control your decent. But I wasn't stupid and I waited till the Seagull Seahawk came out to try that again. And ended up in a real glider with a real instructor so realize this model flies nothing like the real Quicksilver and has far greater control and wind penetration. No rudder says it all.
Hi Josh , I just received my quicksilver and I notice that the motor mount holds the motor but not in straight position to the body of the plane. It has a offset of around 5 degrees towards the left wing ( if you look at it facing the plane). When you look from the top of the plane it's possible to notice that the motor mount has a spacer on the right side bigger than the spacer of the left side. Is this normal? Daniel
HI Josh (both of ya!) I have one of these now and assembled it with no problems BUT I would like to know exactly where to place the battery and rthe Rx please? I am new to this stuff and probably just dumb too ;-) huh huh huh...
Hi, I´d like to ask where you guys have your CG on this plane exactly. Because today I flew it the first time and crashed it very hard into the ground because it was waaaaay too noseheavy. I hope I´ll be able to repair it...
I love this little model, but for WAY more fun, fly it on a 3 cell 500mAh. WATCH for tip stalls, it does have that tendency! I'd LOVE to see one about 3 times larger!!! :D BTW, on a 3 cell, it loops, rolls and tumbles NO PROBLEM!
I have 7000 hrs flying QuickSilvers and they are easy to loop they have design limits of 6 pos and 4 neg and are safe doing it if the pilot is properly trained the factory gave me the first two place.
Flew the full scale quicksilver MX sport and this one looks more like an MX sport, there's no such thing as a GT700 and the GT400 is an LSA compliant with enclosed canopy.
you should do a quicksilver or other open air ultralite scratch/speedbuild. There are really no good rc ultralights and it would make such a good fpv platform.
im about to order a new plane, in the required products list, its written that i should by a 11.1V 1800mah batery, but i can only find a 11.1V 2400mah battery.will it be ok if i fly with that battery?
You are wrong about your comment that "you cannot loop a Quicksilver"... I have owned 3 MX's and have just under 500 hours, I have looped my two seater (MXII) a half dozen times. Just FYI, a "loop" that is properly executed does not overly stress an aircraft and just about all fixed wing aircraft can loop. Do it properly and it's no big deal, do it wrong and say goodbye to the wings as well as the Wife and tater-tots.. Incidentally, "Quicksilver" is the company, "MX" is the name of the plane.
Great stuff guys. Been watching since the first episode. Maybe you need to post on other RC videos to attract attention. Entertaining AND informative, unlike other goofballs on here who like to make up their own terminology and science. Just don`t sell out and start doing survival and fitness videos.
I actually have an ultralight airplane but mine has an enclosed cocpit but mine is neon orange powder coated and the wing is nilon and it's neon pink and neon green
I would love to see a 20,000 dollar turbine RC jet model come flying past at 200MPH and knock that little thing out the sky with it's wake turbulence!!!!
The Spitfire and Hurricane are still a symbol of freedom and defying the odds. The Battle Of Britain turned the Spitfire and Hurricane into legends. It's sad that American's have no idea what the Spitfire symbolizes considering what they preach. I guess the closest thing American's relate to is the P51 which was basically a 2.0 Spitfire.I don't know if you guys have a Battle Of Britain parade but if your ever in the Commonwealth countries go to one and take a look at the Vets on the fly past.
Yes, at the moment I am in the hate mode. I got blocked from their TH-cam channel because I said I missed the FlightTest reviews. I have spent $2300 it HobbyKing. I am done.
Much better presentation.. no childish jokes and no nonsense... a pleasure to watch.. well done guys keep it up..

This is the perfect plane for waiting while your others planes batteries are charging!! Excellent review guys! I hope to see you on tv soon!
you guys have your stuff down. its nice to see someone who knows what their doing and can add a bit of comedy into the mix. subscribed
That guy is funny as hell, i have only watched two of these videos and already want to subscribe for the laughs. keep up the great videos guys.
Thats Joshua Scott
after watching this vidio i brought 2 . they are so easy to fly . keep up the good work guys and keep the vidios coming
@DanBell47 Search Quicksilver in the HobbyKing search box, or click the link in the description!
Your film crew gets some of the best shots I have seen.
Whatever Hobbyking is paying you guys it isn't enough. You guys are the best in the biznezz!
Cool, I had the real 1:1 Quicksilver in 1986.
Nice to see one again, even it,s only semi scala.
Killer review! Excellent video. Thanks for this. Good stuff...keep it coming.

You guys are very funny. keep it up. you make otherwise boring reviews worth watching.
Love you guys, You crack me up and still get your point across lmao
Excellent guys! I bet you can make one from dollar tree foam! I love this plane!
Your Flite Tests are great!
Nice camera ;-)
When will we be able to buy 1 ???? Really like the plane as it is just the right size for flying at work on breaks!!!!
You guys seem to be doing everything right. Keep it up
Very neat review guys!
Awesome quicksilver rc replica.
CIRCLES ARE MY FAVORITE SHAPE!
when can i expect it in stock???
Justin Anger
Right about now.
Daniel, that might be thrust angle to counteract the torque of the motor.
You guys are doing a great job and I love the "look and feel" of your videos. If I may ask, what king of video equipment are you using?
I love these vids, some of the reason is that josh sometimes plays dumb, but a lot of the time he really has no idea what josh Bixler is saying
You guys are great !
Subscribed !
Interesting. Any idea on pricing?
My father had the Quicksilver MX 2 seater, amoung other ultralights. So this might be a nice RC to have.
I like your reviews BTW. Also, how are you doing the chase plane?
@flitetest Hey Flitetest, can you do a review of the HobbyKing Minimoa 2 meter wingspan Glider?
Also, dont you guys have any videos for ppl wanting to buy their 1st plane, transmitter and tips on how to fly the first few times?
Great review! I have been looking at that Airplane on the Hobbyking Web site. What Camera are you using? Great picture with Depth of field!
very nice video,, made 1 before,,the servos were inside the set, nylon conected 2 the horns, like real planes,, very nice idea....
would this plane be ok for a first timer ? thanks looks really stable.
you say that if the receiver touches the carbon fiber it will not blow up.
but there will still be pieces everywhere if it does.

Great video, but the plane is no more available anymore in hobbyking.
Have you any idea when will be in stock again?
very nice, but, will it blend?

@John23gr well... fortunately, we won't make you watch any more :)

Because today I flew it the first time and crashed it very hard into the ground because it was waaaaay too noseheavy.
I hope I´ll be able to repair it...
What prop do you have on there, since I have a spitfire with the same prop and can´t find more of them.
So what does a rudder do and how does it make a difference if a plane has one or not
oh my god, goofey is behind the controls! only not cut in two this time ;)
(see the FMS mustang if you wonder what I'm talking about)

can u guys please do a review on the the parkzone aultra micro p-51d mustange
which battery was used in this test? which would be better for this model aircraft?
Can someone help me?
So when you say hellis does that include drones as well or no?
Want this!
How about you guys creating a 3D printed version of this?!
I have 7000 hrs flying QuickSilvers and they are easy to loop they have design limits of 6 pos and 4 neg and are safe doing it if the pilot is properly trained the factory gave me the first two place.
Thats so cool, Im going to make one
Favorite video guys god job

Thoughts on bringing back that chin strap?
Very professional intro!!
It seems Hobby King does not carry this model anymore?
wow, I'm only 50 seconds into the video and you already persuaded me to subscribe :)
what is the drum machine for ????
Flew the full scale quicksilver MX sport and this one looks more like an MX sport, there's no such thing as a GT700 and the GT400 is an LSA compliant with enclosed canopy.
hey, would you be able to review the eflite apprentice?
you should do a quicksilver or other open air ultralite scratch/speedbuild. There are really no good rc ultralights and it would make such a good fpv platform.

Nice little plane
Cool little flyer :-)
@RCGUY2512 We fly in my back yard in NE Ohio.

So if I shouldn't order from hobbyking, than where do I order planes from?
Why shouldnt u order from hobby king?
This video is 6 years old, I dont even know if this plane still exist.
Nitroplanes has 2 Tony (Tony and Antonio) and Flitetest has 2 Josh (Josh and Joshua)
well done chaps very entertaining review :) not get hobbyking to scale it up so we can FPV it :D good times
where can i get one?
looks good for FPV
A nice thingy indeed, I would expect a pilot like that to fly a Warbird though :-)

How do I get a Flite Test T-shirt?
These videos aren't for amateurs, and this IS a sponsored video...
Yes, at the moment I am in the hate mode. I got blocked from their TH-cam channel because I said I missed the FlightTest reviews. I have spent $2300 it HobbyKing. I am done.
mine flys like a dream
Why don't u fly nitro n gas?
will you sell it
is it flight or flite
do they ship to india
"Look mom no hands" lol
of course it spins to the right becaue it only has one motor and the torque is what causes it
