I owe my life to a spyderco salt knife . Short and sweet version I got tangled up underwater injured arm was numb was able to cut myself lose because I was able to feel the hole and get the knife open
At Spyderco they really know what they are doing, fantastic new knives. I recently purchased an Endura ZDP-189 and I'm surprised, it is so well executed!. Pattadese is a traditional leaf shape blade friction folder that is still carried and used everyday in the island, perfect for process food like fish or the famous sheep cheese "pecorino sardo". In the past it was used also for sheep shearing. During the ww1 sardegna soldiers used it as a weapon despite the non locking blade. There is a lot of history and tradition behind this knife!.
Eric is such a great representative for Spyderco. I think David's and Eric's positively is contagious. I wanna hang out and have a drink with these two.
I really wish that Spyderco would eventually create and release an updated Smallfly 2 balisong trainer with the same blade shape as the new Smallfly 2 but obviously dull!!!
Eric has got it made! I just got a new Spydey broke one from mis use n Spyderco still offered me 45% off of any merch on their sight, n I grabbed a Paramilitary 2 in digital camo, very premium company w/premium customer service!!! Can't wait to get my next Spydey!!
I’d be interested in the small fly2. I absolutely love my Autonomy 2. It definitely gets attention. All black blades don’t wow me. I’m always amazed that people would carry a small knife as not to offend someone. If you’re offending someone by the knife you are carrying or using you’re hanging out with the wrong people!
I put a stretch k390 and a tenacious s35vn into my rotation this year, and I love them. My number one EDC is a Sage 5, but I won’t go with Maxamet because I LOVE my compression lock. I really wish Spyderco would go with a standard deep carry pocket clip. I love the deep carry wire clip on my Sage 5.
I like how Spyderco decided to make the new SmallFly 2 with a traditional knife blade with one edge. For me, I just always seem to have issues flipping balisongs that have double edge blade shapes/styles because there's now safe side(unsharpened spine). I think this traditional blade shape makes the Spyderco SmallFly2 look better and easier/safer to flip.
Things Spyderco can do to make the Tenacious ACTUALLY lightweight: 1. Thinner blade stock 2. Thinner liners 3. Wire clip 4. Bigger opening hole 5. Smaller liner footprint The first 3 would save them money, because they’d be using less steel. The last 2 can be done by changing a few instructions on whatever machine they use to cut out the holes/liners.
I never been a Bali guy other than having a cheapo jaguar when I was a kid but I am really digging that new bali he showed. Looks like a very well thought out design. Also really like the new green they have. So many cool new knives and not enough funds to get them all.
I'm a big guy, as well as a big knife guy! Keep the big ones in production Eric! I'm anxiously awaiting my Police in K390! Looking forward to getting that blade and giving it some "patina"! Good stuff!
I just want to say that Spyderco is not getting enough credit for this reveal. The fact they’ve been able to take steels like Maxamet into Taiwan and S35vn into the Chinese factories is great and signals many more new and exciting advancements in the Spyderco knives coming from those places!
I'd rather buy American. The Taichung in Taiwan does make some good stuff though. The communist party has changed for the worst recently, so I'll save a few more bucks and get American models. Spyderco has to use the cheaper factories to make money to offer all these options.
Since Spyderco does not return emails, ask them if they would swap out an older Tenacious 8cr blade with one of the new S35 blades. I would love it if they had a program where they did that if the blades are interchangeable. I like the older G10 Tenacious design but hate the low end 8cr steel. Thanks.
@@kevindavis4225 I am not asking for a free blade. I would pay to have the blade changed. I am trying to avoid buying another knife. Guess you just did not understand the question. Sorry about that. Late.
Ok that makes sense. Now I agree haha. It'd be nice if they sold blades separately. Handles, liners, and hardware too. I'm sorta in the same boat with my manix 2 LW in maxamet. I want g10 and liners on it. But that one is pinned for whatever reason....
These are the Best Spyderco knives , the FRN Made in Japan with the better steels K390 , LC200N and more . These are also production knives and not limited Sprint runs which I hate because so few are made. These FRN production versions are also more affordable which I like very much. I will never waste my time or try buying a Sprint run ever again, I would never pay the stupid ebay overpriced twice the money rip off on sprint run knives not worth it . Finally nice production run knives with excellent steel choices and affordable Thank you Spyderco.
Spyderco has some beautiful blade shapes some of the arrow/leaf shaped blades would i think make really nice fixed blades or small neck knives need a nice spyderco framelocks
True, 20 years ago 4" folders didnt feel too out of place in public, at least here in TX. But 3.5 and under feels more acceptable these days with 3" being cute
Question for you KnifeCenter, why is Spyderco even having a Reveal#6 when there are still knives from the Reveal#4&5 that still haven't been released yet? I thought that after Spyderco restructured the way they release products with their new reveal program that knives were going to actually be available at online retail stores for sale within 120 days after they were first shown in a Reveal? I preordered from you at KnifeCenter the Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight in Spy27 a lot longer than 120 ago, it's actually been six months since I placed that preorder!!!! If Covid-19 is causing release delays, why hasn't Spyderco mentioned/addressed this issue?
They did briefly mention that COVID has provided some complications in the first pages of the reveal, but even so, Spyderco’ released tons of new models this year with only one or two becoming overdue from each reveal. They may just need some time to iron out production management in tandem with the reveal schedule. It’s still better than what we had before, imo.
Damn, Spyderco never fails to disappoint. Love the fearlessness when it comes to innovation. Still haven’t got my hands on a PM2, definitely on the wishlist
Acetone agreed. That Maxamet steel is on another level-however after trying to grind a secondary bevel on my Manix2 LW Maxamet blade from breaking down about 30 boxes, I don’t use it anymore because it takes FOREVER to sharpen, whereas I use 1/10th of the time to sharpen my VG10 endura.
Cole Lindbo I use DMT plates, then 2000 grit paper on glass, 6000 grit on glass, 12,000 grit on glass, wet bass wood strop, and then bass wood 0.5 micron strop. I finish at Micheal Christy hair whittling sharp. Needless to say, it takes me a bit longer than A FEW swipes than then I’m done. With VG10, I can fly through the process much faster.
STILL waiting on my preorder of the spy27 Para 3 from 7 months ago. Why is spyderco releasing new knives when they can’t even keep up with very old orders?
@KnifeCenter would very much like to see a s35vn , contured handle , knife center exclusive tenacious. Micarta would be a great upgrade for the tenacious.
I would love to know if they deviate from using certain steels for the lock and blade steel or are they always the same steel as the blade. Anyone have any info? Sorry for wording, I work hard and play harder. 🥃
I love the fact that your bringing us the fantastic k390 in so many models but now I have to ask for more can we have a lightweight nirvana and a lightweight Gayle Bradley I’ve really really wanted to get my hands on the nirvana but it’s just not in my reach

@@WillEDC I will probably pick up one of these new lc200n Salts as my kayaking knife, but it is still not the same as a PM2. I would much prefer a compression lock with g10 over a backlock FRN. The Siren was closer, but still no compression lock.

When he talks about his products with his raspy voice, it come off like angels singing (to my ears) because I love this shit!
It really is a joy to see knife makers talk about what goes into their products. It shows that they have pride what they offer to the customer
Yeah that’s really great. So great. Real great. It’s just great
Met him in person. Such a kind guy. He is just like in the videos
Eric Glesser just seems like such a great and very genuine guy! Always enjoy watching him discuss his knives!
