ah the sweet hre agony. You've stood for 40 minutes, barely scrapping resources for units, thinking you can comeback, but deep down below you know it, english has 20 knights and crossbows in queue at 200 pop and thousands of food and gold in bank, continuing the onslaught

Well done! Every HRE main, should know that their front line keep should have a relic in it. Makes such a huge difference. Don't know why he didn't put it in the Elzbach. The game was done, but still

1. Chinese Great Wall Gatehouse should be able to promote a Lord Commander🤗 of the Wall's Watch, and produces Great Wall Watchers.😆 (Wallwatcher infantries/cavalries with extra buff like clocktower siege units, and a unique unit Wallwatcher Bee Shooter, hold a mini nest of bee like a RPG, fires 3 explosive bee arrows at a time.)
2. Chinese Imperial Palace should also be able to crown a Dragon Emperor or Phoenix Empress, and produces other Palace Armies than Palace Guards.😄

Do you find the knights crowwbows to be the best unit combination. I have sometimes had luck with longbows spearman combo fully upgraded. What do you think?
Why did English get so many buffs when they were already top 3 civs in the game? I can understand increasing variety but why did the council hall need a buff when everyone picked it already? The devs seem to have buffed whichever landmarks they fancy with no thought to the actual civ balance. The only part of civ balance that was improved in this patch was Dehli (and maybe HRE)
English and China have the lowest win rate in Ranked games in high level games…. Definitely one of the weakest one right now…
Enclosures got a big nerf, it was a compensation of power from late game to earlier stages.
man this was about all landmarks being viable. this is not a game balance patch foremost id say.
The UI looks much better, wish the game was this good at launch, might not have burnt out on it as fast

This title scares me. English were already the best civ in the game. I fear that the variety of this game is going to be impacted in the short term because everyone will switch to English. I am not criticizing those who make it, I did it myself (I was a China main), I am criticizing the English changes in the PUP (I mean, I like the changes but they should have balanced them more).
English and China now has the lowest win rate on the ladder in conqueror games…..
I think the strength of English is overstated, especially in higher ranks. English is very powerful at the lower ranks (sub Conqueror) because of their innate simplicity, scaling, and safety. However, when you reach Conq, they become the lowest win rate civ in the game. This is due to people truly doing their utmost to win, so then you realise that things like Mongol Trade, Malian Farimba FC, HRE 2TC and Ottoman Feudal/Castle Rush really step on English’s next, and reaching the Imp isn’t an easy option anymore. This is why their late game got weakened and their mid game strengthened in the new patch.

@@ratzrudi the main problem is that it unbalances the pick rate at lower levels, which includes 99.9% of players.
Easier civs should be slightly weaker because they are the best choice for newbies, if you reward the fact that a mid-tier player learns a more difficult civ you make people improve and vary, if English are the best civ at their level they will never change.

I like english they are simple and strong……i like also France , rus and holy roman empire!!! I like the rest but are more complicated

Is there logic to skipping some of the high value upgrades like wheelbarrow and double axe? When vils are in short supply, I'm always surprised to see you hang back on the cheap high value early upgrades. The low cost mine upgrades come early for my game, too

Man ... I see ~5m 2tc, crisp.. and then good timing on FC (I think same time as HRE but with more vills and no tc downtime), remembers walls, relics, production like everything on point and game gets to imperial and makes wynguard but then drops a bunch of stables... lol what an asshole!!! I still love you though Drongo!

I am amazed at how you can have such a high apm but still be able to talk about it, hearing you explain your thought process as you were doing it was a very educational experience.
Playing a game for lots of hours makes you know what you are doing, so you can talk while you are doing what you know

Im not good in this age of empires, but i do have played all other versions.. so wy u need to build more then one town hall, so close to each other?

I don't get it. If Eng is getting a 2nd TC, why didn't HRE just rush Castle and get all the relics? It's not like he's getting the burger castle and needs a 2nd TC to support mass unit production and constant pushes. Also, he can get a 2nd or even 3rd TC later by buying resources from the market. I think the HRE opponent is outmatched and didn't use HRE's advantages to its fullest.

Ofcourse you’re an English main. They have more benefits than any other civ there’s almost no way to beat them these days. They have no weaknesses really and with the PUP it highlights just how much the English is the devs darling.

Im a French main. I like the calv and the upgrades they bring. I only don’t like the bloodlines late game upgrade. Other than that everything else is fine. :)

Rangers are kinda garbage in comparison to regular longbows. A little more range, a slight bit more damage but cost Gold instead of wood. Footman, however, seem like the perfect unit to mix into man at arms groups because they are a beefed man at arms but also get bonus vs cavalry. Only down side is time too train compared to raiders which is 3 horseman and 3 knights in 20seconds for a 300 resource discount.
how did you get your UI map so big?
English are op because they are simple and have strong bonus…..other civs have stronger bonus but not so easy to play to full potencial…..
I don't think I have ever seen you play. I didn't imagine you would be that 'smooth' with your actions. I feel like even some pro players on stream seem less deliberate in their movements.
I want to learn how to do everything so quickly with hotkeys and stuff, I still scroll and click. Any tips?
For the record you can check if the Landmark was fully repaired or not if there's still a destroyed landmark showing in the top left. Crude but it works.

Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind clicking multiple times when moving their scouts? Seems like a waste of energy to me... haha
Not sure unless you talking about queuing movement. Some times I see streamers rapid seizure click their town center for no reason even with like 6 villagers in que already. It might just be a concentration tick or something.

Since the English have the King and the Winguard (spelling?) Raiders, ie speed in military. Is there any option for them to start trading too, purely from a population efficiency? The speed of Cav can protect, similar to the French speed in reaction. Or is it just not worth it at all due to enclosures?

I'm down voting, due to maining on english I'm already sick of lack of variety of opponents I looked at the games a couple of weeks ago, 9 out of ten games were English opponents.

I believe if you go mass knights in imperial vs HRE and they go mass spears and landsknecht then you can switch up with wyngaurd rangers at some point and battering rams to quickly push for a win.
