Yes!!! Those are the two I most want them to react to next along with Gravity! They're some of the best tracks APC has ever produced, and that's saying a lot. While the whole album is undeniably beautifully crafted and without a single skippable track, I basically had those 3 on constant repeat in 2003 for a long time. And every time I hear them now, I'm instantly transported back to that time. The build up on The Package is utterly exquisite, the meaning behind The Noose is utterly haunting, and the musicianship within Gravity is utterly hypnotic. Really hoping your comment gets enough likes for George and Ryan to see it!
@@Nobody-zn3yv yess!! The instrumental part before the final chorus, and the rhythm guitar during the final chorus just elevates that song above all the others for me.
I prefer the album version. That song has more emotion in its guitar alone than 90% of bands full catalogs. Combined with arguably MJKs best singing, and Josh Freese leaving Earth during the guitar solo.
they did a remix called "Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm of the War Drum" its very different musically but follows the lyrics storytelling even better, worth checking out
I totally agree with this, and was gonna make the same suggestion for the next reaction too. This version is great, but that one, through my ears, is even better.
What your describing at 6:20 is the sound of a heavy rhythm guitar and a distorted bass playing the same heavy riff that’s syncopated. Then you hear Billy Howerdale play the lead guitar over it while singing the harmonies. Also you asked what it’s called when they bring it down quiet. That’s called Dynamics. So you go from super heavy loud angry Maynard to a very tiny subtle pretty sound. That’s just dynamics. The solo section does the same thing. Heavy distorted bass and rhythm guitar playing the identical heavy riff and the lead doing its own thing over it. I’m such a nerd I just realized. So when you hear that BASS forward sound, it is in fact mixed really loud and the doubling rhythm guitar is mixed lower compared to the bass. I love this sound too
Start to finish there isnt a bad track on this entire album, over 50 years of listening to a very wide range of music and this album still resides in my top 5 albums of all time, just my opinion, but its truely a great album in its entirety. Great reaction guys, absolutely loved it!!🌀🌀
This is a great song. Their entire Mer de Noms album is great. Magdalena and Orestes are my favorites from that album, but really you could pick any song of theirs and find something great about it. Good pick here. Also, Thomas, Breña, Rose, 3 libras, and the hallow.
Epic! I remember driving to work in Sacramento and I heard A Perfect Circle for the first time on the radio! I bought the CD on my lunch break and I am still listening all these years later!
Jeordie White was Mansons bassist (twiggy) during the best years of that band. Had the bulk of the song writing credits for Mansons biggest hits. Dude's a beast. APC is also Billy Howerdel's band, he's like Billy Corgan is to the pumpkins
Saw APC in 2003 at Lollapolooza. We all waited patiently for them to start and suddenly we hear “go back to sleep”, and nothing. Hear it again and the curtain drops, goes straight into this song. It was awesome. What a great song to start your set.
Total banger! and the remix video is pretty good too and still good for a laugh. APC can just create so much atmosphere the way Billy layers the guitars plus Maynard's vocals and tons of reverb just a wall of beautiful sound.
You guys are more than just a reaction channel. You guys are accessible music critics. I liked Ryan’s point about the lead vs rhythm guitar - very astute.
I've been following you guys since your start. You guys always put a smile on my face. Even when you do not like a song you guys critique it in a non-negative way. Kudos to Ryan on his articulate insight on the song! Much love and appreciation to you two. PEACE
I love them. After many years of listening to them.... I love Maynard but I really feel like Billy is the one that makes this group sound so amazing. I may be wrong but damn.... His influence as well as his harmonies are super
When you reacted to The Outsider, I was hoping you would hit this one. I was so glad to see this pop up on my feed. Another top-notch reaction....thank you for the countless hours of enjoyment.
This is one of my absolute favorite albums and they play a hell of a live show! One of the best concerts Ive ever been to next to Tool! Great reaction!
The progressive nature of A Perfect Circle/Tool pulls me in everytime. Their sounds keep me plugged in. Nice reaction Fellas. 3 Libras as a request. Peace!
This was the 1st song that really grabbed me and introduced me to MJK and the music he's made thru his variety of bands (2 decades ago!?)...always good to see the appreciation continued via others and their perspectives.
A Perfect Circle style is to have the bass and drums up front and the guitar just adds color in the background. That’s Billy Howeredell style as a guitarist
omg i can't believe you guys reacted to a perfect circle!! i haven't heard them in ages lol. you guys are digging DEEP!!! edit: btw i'm still in the middle of the video so idk if they mention it but james iha from smashing pumpkins is one of the guitarists i'm pretty sure!
I always laugh to myself every time I hear this song because for some unknown reason this song is mixed so much louder then the rest of the album so when it came on I would have to scramble to turn it down.
This song took a while to grow on me when I first heard it years ago. Then I left it for a while and when I went back to it.... My god what a banger..!!!
I've been waiting for someone to do this that I enjoy watching on YT and you guys are one of favorite channels so I'm pumped for this one, I love this song!
An interesting all star band, at the time of this album release: The guitarist Billy Howerdel played with Nine Inch Nails The Bassist Jeordie White played with Marilyn Manson The Drummer Josh Freese (Freeze) played with pop punk band The Vandals Other notable members have been: Tim “herb” Alexander of Primus James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins
You guys have to try « 3 libras », please!! I enjoy a lot your reaction with A perfect circle and i would like to see your reaction with this one. From Perú!!!
One of my favorite songs from them, just love the story telling Maynard manages to consistently deliver. The entire album is about addiction and I feel like this one is specifically about it from the drugs perspective, hits so hard in that context. The Noose has fantastic writing and a really unique message as well - curious to see how you interpret it.
Just fyi- there was definitely some sarcasm that got lost in Maynard’s delivery when he told y’all “here is the link between reality and the beyond” or whatever he said. He is not that pretentious AT ALL. He is a proud person I would say, rightly so, but not at all egotistical and certainly does not take himself that seriously. Much love to you guys 💚
Got an unrelated song suggestion. A live performance of Stevie Wonder singing one of Sting's hits FRAGILE. Sting was on a concert tour and invited Stevie, who said FRAGILE was his favorite songs by Sting. The way Stevie sang it, he made it sound like he wrote the song himself. Sting stood beside him singing backup and just watching Stevie upgrade his song in awe. Stevie even played his harmonica. It was amazing...
Same!! Maynard’s lyrics are great and have such deep meaning. I look at this as more of an anti-government song… the lyrics from the government’s point of view to it’s citizens. “Nothing to see here! Go back to sleep!!”
Despite how much i love this song from them, imo the version they made themselves of this song in the album eMOTIVE called "Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums" is so much better imo! Specially if you consider the videoclip!... I do like PET, but the eMOTIVE version just elevates it into something truly special imo
Really enjoy and appreciate y’all. This album has a cover(the nurse who loved me) from Maynard’s favorite band. Failure is excellent, I think you’d love them. Another Space Song or Heliotropic in particular.
I remember buying this on CD when it came out…back then new release music came out on Tuesdays & that upcoming Friday was my brothers bachelor party at the beach (it was in Ocean City Md,we lived about a 3 hour drive away outside of DC/Baltimore) & this was the soundtrack to that weekend …..i particularly remember this track & “The Outsider” because of the “did he just say what I think he said?” moments…..it’s held up really well 🖤y’all be safe🥶
Great reaction to a great band! Another song you must check out is Orestes from their first album. The studio version is amazing, but there's also a high-quality live version that is just surreal. I think it was a performance at Red Rocks
“The package” and “the noose” excellent songs from a masterpiece album 💿

The Package is the best APC song imo
The Package is the best APC song.. period. (: Would love to see them react to that one.
The climax of the song is so good I can't get enough of it

Absolutely agree!
I have adored Blue and 3 Libras since I was young. The nurse who loved me is good too
I hope they tour again soon.
They should definitely do the live version at round rocks cause that shit bangs
I prefer the album version. That song has more emotion in its guitar alone than 90% of bands full catalogs. Combined with arguably MJKs best singing, and Josh Freese leaving Earth during the guitar solo.
Blue is an underrated one on the album. Super mellow and subdue

Billy howerdel might be the most criminally underrated compositionalist of all time

Great tune!
This is absolutely one of my favorite heartbreaking angry songs

Judith, The Outsider, and Pet are all some of their absolute best songs. For my money though, I can't say enough good things about The Hollow.
Agreed ! Three of my favorites from this album. The whole album flows so great.
I slept on APC for the longest time, i'm now pissed off at myself
This song is all about the heaviness and the lyrics! The LYRICS!
The band you showcased in the beginning is really awesome. I listened to that entire album and every song is a banger
Thanks for the kind words! New music coming VERY soon

A Perfect Circle - The Noose.
Such a brilliant song. And it is again very different to what you have heard already from them.
