Awesome reviews!!! I've been playing Base Catan for about a month now and was wondering what you suggest my first expansion should be? As people say "Cities & Knights" is the best but it does look over complicated right now (same with Traders and Barbarians). So I was thinking Seafarers as I could do several new scenarios or Explorers and Pirates. So is there any reason to go with Seafarers or would this expansion be the better option? THANKS!!!!!!
Hey Brian! Seafarers is the way to go for the next step in Catan! I have reviews for all of the expansions and many expansions as well in my boars game playlist if you want to look at the others. Seafarers is an excellent expansion that adds enough to make the game feel new but not new enough to get confused or complicated. Hope this helps!
You should update this review as there are few rules that are wrong or could have changed in the newer editions of Catan. For anyone looking at this this can be confusing as the rule book has some rules that are very different from the ones that you mentioned in the video
You can mix all the Catans with cities in their games. Basically base Catan and Catan C&K can be mixed with any scenario from Seafarers and T&B. With all the regular rules from respective games. The only rules that change the most are Catan for two (a version of Catan from T&B)
2:38 I'm starting with this expansion and it seems to me I found a mistake here. When you discover a brick hex you get 1 brick, not 2 gold.
