First, always get a contract, take a photo of his driver's license, his contractor license, and contractor insurance. If he disagrees, immediately stop doing business with him and look for someone else! If it's too late, go to your county court clerk, tell him you want to file a small claims against a contractor. They'll give you the forms. It's easy to do.

he maybe took home 5,000 for himself. if he hired a couple guys at atleast 100 a day for a couple weeks is at 6 days a week is about 2,400 plus materials at least 3,000 easy plus maybe lunch for the guys refreshements for his crew.. 12,000 anit much to remidel a home ive seen contractors charge thousands more for almost nothing but since they have a contractor license its ok. foh

It’s impossible almost to be a contractor and live comfortable if u don’t clear 1000$ a day ur struggling in most cities. Because med. ins. Workers comp. ect. People are still making similar $ as they did in 1980 in this country and the price for things has went up x 10. It’s truly a joke and if keeping illegals out saves us a dime at this point we have to take it.
A thousand dollars a day? Thats 300 grand a year. You telling me you would be struggling on 300 large? I live comfortably on 80 bucks a day.

He has to pay his workers (3 guys 50k) their insurance (20k a year), materials, and advertising. He keeps what is left over at the end of the day. Its not as cut and dry as you think. Of course, I don’t know his situation, but 1 million operating revenue should be what should be pulling in.

All this is, is a bullshit script show homeowner should and have the right to do the research on their contractors.. but as a contractor myself if a job that cost $5000 and a contractor Charged $7000 and the homeowners agree.. That’s none of their damn business.. homeowner should be careful when a job that cost $5000 to do,and a contractor says he’ll do it for 2000 now that’s a problem.. sometimes these homeowners are so cheap they’re willing to pay less on a job that’s worth more to save a few dollars and it ends up costing..more.. you want something done right you got to pay the price..
