@Jasmine N. Be careful what man you tell that, i said that and the guy tried to force himself on me (in front of our friends thank goodness, i totally stoped seeing him after that)
Regarding your comment about doing this all for a guy: that's how it started, but when she realized she wouldn't ever be enough for him, she changed tactics. Now she's doing it because SHE wants to do it.
Exactly, it's obvious she is a talented law student and enjoys a well structured argument. She had the talent from the beginning, it just took some maturing to find out what she wanted and go for it!
Something that a lot of people miss: when Warner asks about the costume, Elle pointedly does not throw Vivian under the bus, and just says she did it on her own. It's Vivian fault and she's Warners fiance, but she STILL didn't tell on her.
Yup. She does make the "frigid b-" comment to Vivian, but that's it, and she's only saying that directly to the two girls who tricked her. Doesn't throw either of them under the bus to anybody else, as you say.
"what like it's hard?!" Is my favorite line and just Warner's face is iconic 🤣. I feel like Billy is one of the most genuine TH-camrs and I will always support him 😊
So the LSAT score is how you did compared to your peers, like on a curve... there is no pass/fail technically.... but 180 is the highest... 160+ is considered good. The more prestigious the school the higher the score needs to be. 150 is traditionally the 'pass' grade to get into law school... 179 is a fantastic score so she rocked it!
I think the highest you can get on the LSATs is 180. so the fact that Elle got a 179 after only studying for a few months is INSANELY impressive. Like, she's a smart cookie.
To prepare for her role as Elle Woods, Reese Witherspoon spent two weeks studying the behavior of sorority girls, as she did not wish to portray a stereotypical airhead sorority image. She states on the DVD commentary that they were all very kind and polite, and she enjoyed her time with them. She also observed women shopping from the café at Neiman Marcus, and attended law school for a day.
180 is a perfect score. Elle got a 179. An average LSAT score is 152 or so. Most law schools are looking for a score above 150. Ivies want even higher.
#bingers please watch CLUELESS - or Cruel Intentions. Also think Can’t Hardly Wait or Eurotrip would be good! Also hoping for Disney’s Tarzan :) thanks for the laughs and smiles Billy! Love your shirt collection!
Fun fact, the "costume party" is the last time we see Elle doing any of the things she does to get Warner back. She understands that Warner is never going to respect her and she's had enough with everyone doubting her so she decides that she's going to succeed and she's going to do it for herself. It can be hard to catch the first time watching, but she truly says "f that guy" at the party.
fun fact about the essay: in the musical version instead of writing an essay she just barges in the Harvard meeting room where there's the commission deciding on who to accept in the school, and she starts dancing with a bunch of cheerleaders, marching band and mascottes.

I saw in a previous comment from a different reactor watching this movie that the reason Vivian was so cold and unwelcoming towards Elle at first was because Elle was the side piece. Warner didnt date Elle longterm then turn around and decide to propose to Vivian during summer break on a whim. Quite the opposite actually. He had been formally seeing Vivian for what is assumed to be a lengthy time and then proposed to please his family, while at the same time he had been seeing Elle behind Vivians back, stringing her along knowing that they were never going to be endgame, but still humouring the idea that he could maybe possibly someday marry her to manipulate her into staying interested in him until he wanted to break it off at his leisure. Vivian had only ever known about Elle as being the "Other Women" and therefore in her mind she was the evil homewrecker who had lured Warner away from her and was purposely trying to break them apart. So from her perspective when Elle randomly showed up at the same Law school the "happy couple" were attending, it probably looked like Elle was some jealous or stalker ex lover. Considering all that, it's no surprise why Vivian would act so catty in the first half of the movie.
Surprisingly, while dramatized, this movie has some of the most accurate law school scenes in the movies. Now for an accurate, yet hilarious, look at courtroom procedure, please watch My Cousin Vinny.
First of many fun facts: the girl that represents Elle in the opening credits is not Reese Witherspoon. She was filming another film at the time, and couldn't
I love this movie so much! I love that Elle gets to be who she is, while still being really smart. And she’s always kind and has such a good attitude about everything.
The game changer for Elle getting into Harvard was getting a 179 on her LSAT; the highest possible score is 180. Everything else (sexy video-essay, academic record, leadership positions, charity work, extracurricular activities) would not have been enough. And actually, the video-essay was a stroke of genius, showing them exactly who she is, her character & demeanor, what she looks like; text is very dry, anonymizing, but images sell better. She really used the marketing education acquired in her academic career thus far; that couldn't have been lost on the intake committee.
@@beetlebob4675 Does that mean you are agreeing that its underrated. Because I know that, and Lilo and Stich is a very good movie but like 'Treasure Planet' is awesome!

I'm still in love with the line "this is gonna be just like senior year except for funner." Bc it gives a fine point to the dumb blonde trope, only to dispell that quickly. Heck, most ppl who've taken or studied for the lsats knows that 179 is nearly a perfect grade. 180 is perfect. So, she's clearly brilliant even in the beginning, but even she didn't know it.
So, real talk: I had a bully in middle school that was extremely nasty to me (this was back in 2006-2007) and one night, I had sat down to rewatch Legally Blonde. When it got to the part of the party and Elle stood up to Vivian, I got an idea and told myself 'the next time Clarissa comes up to me, I'm going to say this.' Sure enough, not even a day later I'm being threatened by my bully and I tell her, "Hey, the next time I'd try to act like a frigid bitch, I'd try not to look so constipated." That girl NEVER bullied me ever again.
I watched LegalEagle react to this and apparently the highest score you can get is 180 on the LSAT. She got a nearly perfect score (he said it was higher than he got) and she could get into basically any law school with a 179.

@Jasmine N. Be careful what man you tell that, i said that and the guy tried to force himself on me (in front of our friends thank goodness, i totally stoped seeing him after that)
i think that is the problem, the definition of what's 'creepy' keeps changing... which makes it uncomfortable for many men.

She simply realized he wasn't good enough for HER. 💙

Elle is such a classy role model! I love it.

Thanks for posting this--after watching this movie, I wondered what LSAT score Elle would have needed had she applied somewhere else.
Elle got a 179
I think the highest you can get on the LSATs is 180. so the fact that Elle got a 179 after only studying for a few months is INSANELY impressive.

Are you sure Sommer Ray got a BBL ? Her waist isn't very small, it's muscular and she has hip dips which people who got BBL don't, I'm like 99,9% convinced she's natural
@@thenewclassic4 if I remember right it was one of her ig model friends who had a bbl that accidentally spilled that sommer had gone to the same surgeon. If she really wanted ppl to not be able to tell I’m sure the surgeon would’ve known how to tweak things to make it look as natural as possible. On top of that she obviously actually works out hard so it probably built muscle & tone so it looks wayyy more natural & fits her body. A ton of famous girls rn that you’d never think in a million years cuz they’re so thin, have sculptra shots too to make their butts bigger that dissolves over time so it won’t be as intense as an actual bbl that completely reconstructs the fat mass in that area. I love the movie, but lowkey I find that the musical version handles Emmett and Elle's romance and Vivian and Elle's enemies-to-friends relationship alot better, plus the songs can be pretty catchy lol.
Yes I would love to see a reaction to the musical version!
Is the musical a movie or a Broadway show?
@@olamidelajuwomi Broadway show, but it actually has a pro-shot recording that was made to air on MTV, and now there multiple uploads of the full show up on youtube!
@@samala2931 ooh, thanks
I think there’s a give and take. The musical gives Elle’s eff you attitude to Emmett helping her to realize that instead of her realizing it herself. It totes helps their relationship narrative, but I miss her getting pissed herself.
