Hey Dylan, it is good to get introspective about our collecting from time to time. Like you, I love to take the time to enjoy what I have. I love tbe 55 Bowman. The Aaron, Ford and Kaline are three of my favorites in the set. I want to get the Tommy Byrne which can be tough to find graded for a decent price and the Lew Burdette. I love the poses. Good luck with the Aaron run. You have many of the big ones out of the way. Have a great Labor Day weekend. Take care, my friend.
I just love your collection Dylan. Really enjoyed your conversation with Dan too. I just finished it last night. Jeter has a nice run too, but obviously modern.
Gave a video like. Always fun to see some cards and hear your thoughts. Always nice to purge some cards every once in a while, and realign your collection with your current collecting goals. I'm going through that in my collection right now. Thanks for sharing, Dylan
I started this the other day but got so mesmerized by that ‘51 Stengel and I don’t know what happened after that 🤣 Glad I came back to finish it, or else I would’ve missed that insane fact that you use a four-step process involving 1,000-grit sandpaper to remove severe scratches. You are a legend, brah 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Oh yeah, Hank Aaron run, my Mt. Rushmore Hank Aaron RC clubby! 🤯🤯🤯 Look how you have transformed your collection! A lot of work and time went into it, and of course there will be adjustments and glorious additions, but you have done it!!! At least Phase 1, if you will! That, my friend, it insane ... in the greatest possible hobby way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love that 55 Kaline Dylan! A Henry Aaron run is one of I want to make also, that 55 and 56 you shared are amazing looking cards. Do you remember the 59 and 54 Jim Gilliam cards I picked up from you, just got them back and they look amazing slabbed.
"The Great Purge" That sounds like it could be a movie. I have often said that the top to bottom centering doesn't bother me much. I think it is strangely disguised many times. I was thinking you could buy a CamelBak while filming. That way you wouldn't have to stop to take a drink. Have you seen those? They are made for runners. I could use that 1956 Aaron. Perhaps I could bribe you next summer. lol 1955 is an example of one year where centering is hidden a bit more. It seems to blend in.
I have not run into creases on a 4. It's even possible to get a 2 or 3 with no crease if there is staining or paper loss on the back or other issues. Do you have Aaron's '54 rookie? You didn't show it. I have it in a 2 with no crease! Fairly well centered, too, which is a bitch with that card. Its problems are a small roller mark or print defect on a front edge that does not hurt the eye appeal , some roller-type print marks on the reverse, and very well-loved corners. Eye appeal and centering made me bid and win it for well under $2K including buyer's premium. I never thought I would own an Aaron rookie that was not trashed.
Dylan, Thinking of your next move can be fun and frustrating at the same time. I never want my collection to go in a. wrong direction but at the same time, I love the challenge of start something new. I am sure you'll make a great decision that will make your collections nicer. How many cards do you think you've sold in the past two years? Nice 55 Bowman Whitey Ford and Al Kaline BTW! Some nice Yankees cards too! You have a vast collection. Don't sell the 55 Aaron! Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend!
Well, you did show one Cal Ripken Jr card, and it does mean a lot you, you kept your word. I guess. This will do. Thanks, Dylan. You're still on the seasons greetings list. Dollar Tree ...sells Hallmark cards for a dollar. Everything else is like, more than a dollar. Misleading company name 😅 When I do buy graded cards. I often buy them in ''4''s. 5 is... the best value? Dang! I have bought some Mickey Mantle cards in a 4. Yes, as a long-time Orioles fan, that hates the Yankees. This is a story to be told on camera. Not saying, it's a great story, though. Lol...your phone made it to the end! Weren't cut off-this time!
Interesting he had an MVP season in 1984, but finished in 27th place. The year before he was MVP, and the Orioles won World Series. Hoping history repeats 41 years later. 🙏
I noticed that people of your generation and younger use "sick" and "insane" to mean something is awesome. I would have thought "gnarly" too, for a surfer, but I haven't heard you say that one. The previous generation, mine, uses "cool" the same way (far too much!). And the generation before that, "far out" and "groovy." In the movie "The Sting" I heard Redford say "Jake" to mean good. Interesting how words are co-opted to mean something different.
That really is a stunning '55 Hank. I have considered trying to do his Milwaukee run, but the rookie would definitely be a hurdle.

Whoa, you’re doing a player run! “Do as I say, not as I do!” Going to have to build some more ponds to fund your collection. 😂🤪😜🤙🏻🤙🏻
The ‘55 Bowman Kaline looks a little off to me right to left.
Just kidding dude! Nice copy and thanks for the shares! 🤙🏼

Ive definitely had my fair share of secret wrinkles. Some sellers know all the sneaky... ahem... best photo angles.
(mc) backs for the win! Love those! Best of luck on the Hank run 🤙
Love that 55 Kaline Dylan!

"Lately"😂 55 Bowman in my top three. Kaline looks like a 10.

Great slabs

Sorry for the delayed replay I did read your comment the day you sent it :) . Yes I have the Aaron RC and mine is a 2 as well :)

HA HA I love slang it does define each generation :)
