Listening to Sarah Vaughan sing live is The Sh*t ! When she sings live, there's so much going on that you have to go back repeatedly and hear what she's doing with her voice. The full tone and richness and that VIBRATO ! Also, the layer upon layer of different sounds all happening at once. As a voice teacher, I don't know if you can even teach this type of singing ?! It's called a Phenomenon !

I am a pianist, retired, and I'm in my 70s..she was in a class above all others. I love many vocalists but she is the queen. Not even Karen Carpenter or Ella Fitzgerald had this gift.
