There is also gyroflow, open source for stabilizing basing on data from camera

I shot a video with your recommended settings - thanks! - but it was lagging and choppy when I played it back in GoPro Player. I guess my 2015 Macbook just can't hack the quality?? Best way to get round that?

I've never used any stabilization with my GoPro when riding and I hadn't used the GoPro player. I downloaded the player and turned on RS and can't believe the difference. I thought the streets in New York were just really smooth from what I saw in your videos and streams. I don't publish my rides, it's just for personal entertainment, so the RS isn't required but it is cool and thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing! I just started using it. It's really good!

I thought exactly the same thing about the smoothness of the streets! On my old GoPro 6, the stabilisation isn't that great and I've always found their software a bit clunky so I recently started using Shotcut to edit. Bit of an ugly interface but it seems quite powerful for a free programme.

I think they updated it so you don't need RS for crops now
