Austin BECAME ELVIS! Still cant believe what I've experienced watching Austin bring Elvis back to us. There is NO ONE who can compare to the extrordinarily phenomenal portrayel of Elvis. He ABSOLUTELY deserved the Oscar I cannot get enough of this portrayel. I would see it every day if I could. SURREAL!!!

@Kazuko Hara darling, apparently they didn’t teach you about metaphors in that prison either. They mean that Austin’s dedication really sucked him into the character almost feeling like he’s lost who he really was before. As in getting an existential crisis.
Well yeah, because when the started shooting COVID hit so the whole world went to lock down. And Australia had a super strict lock down for the longest time. But it must have been really hard to basically lose his reality for the sake of the role.

This is the motherlode of acting performances. There are moments when he looks as if he lost himself in the music and the moves and the voice and the mannerisms. Most stupefying for me is the recreation of the 68 comeback special. I have watched the movie 4 times already simply for that one sequence. Takes my breath every single time. Brave, and thank you.

At this time the movie had been wrapped up for many months. I'm wondering if some of the raspiness is from so many intern.

This is the best biopic I have ever seen or experienced. Austin made Elvis the man the human being come alive. I have cried several times. So many tender moments where his personality comes out- his eyes are the window to his souls and Austin nailed
that. I have seen it 7 times and I will continue to watch it. It makes me happy and I enjoy the great acting and the music. Just a suburb movie and acting more than worthy of awards!! After I saw it a second time, I felt sad when I couldn't see it, so I went back. Austin did beautiful work and I saw nothing but elvis onscreen. But seeing Austin in interviews with his light hair and as himself, made me realize what a great acting job he did. Austin is now on our radar, and he's got "it". But he always had it. Leo has it and Brad Pitt for sure. But Leo is the actor, Brad Pitt is a performer now. . LEO will always be working. I pray Austin keeps his sanity.

Whatever he was paid for this movie it wasn’t enough and if this movie, Austin Butler, Tom Hanks and Baz are not nominated for an Oscar then there is truly something wrong with the Academy.
Austin is just an amazing young man. He really works hard at what he needs to accomplish. He really crushed it as Elvis, just incredibly amazing! I feel so protective of him. I don't want anything negative coming towards him.

Elvis Presley has been my favorite artist since I was a baby, since I was in kindergarten. Sadly I could never see him live but I watched the preview of this movie in cinema and it felt like I saw Elvis alive.

You truly did a wonderful job. There have been so many lousy movies and documentaries on Elvis Presley. Finally you and Baz made it right by allowing his true humanity to come forward. Poor lad. 🫂🥺💔 Uncertain if anybody notices but he seems to be having a hard time explaining things due to exhaustion (he somewhat pauses & jetlags) and I've gotten a hunch, generally speaking on opinion, his readjustment to his own life also had been sorta hectic despite being with loved ones. 😅 Famous people don't ever really catch a true break. To the interviewer, he's an actor since 13!! . Actors have egos that allow them to accept challenges like this. Yes he's sweet and humble, but you get him on camera and he transforms. That's acting. He knew it was a star making role. Unchained Melody is just so Elvis. He filmed Masters of the Air for a year in London as Major Gale Cleven a pilot. The director said when Austin got to the set, he was still Elvis to a big extent.
I read where Austin earned $700,000 for All his hard with in Elvis. However, I think that given the fact that he spent two years w/o contact with friends nor family, immersing his very being into Elvis the man and then having been hospitalized for a week after the final take, that salary should have been no less than $1.5mil.
