This young man had huge huge shoes to fill. Almost impossible that he would even master Elvis as completely as he did. Austin did not imitate Elvis. Austin was reborn and engulfed the man. Impossible, impossible feat to achieve. Just his vocals were impeccably close and his dance moves came from within him ( like Elvis ) and not co ordinated as many artist trying to play Elvis had done. My point is Austin was smart enough not to imitate Elvis but to become Elvis. This is what separates Elvis the musical icon from Elvis the halloween costume, as he said. I knew that something remarkable had happened when i wanted to cry about 20 mins into the movie. He had appeared at Louisiana Hayride and gotten jeered and then he belted out that song. It was Elvis come back to life. It was shocking and I watched the movie in kind of disbelief. How did Austin do it?

Losing both mother's at the same age, connected Austin and Elvis as one. I've seen Elvis in Concert here in San Diego grew up with him since I was 11 and cried when he passed. My only Regret was I didn't fly out for his funeral. Great Job Austin you have paid the greatest compliment for this Man we call the King. Love you.

It's raw, emotional, and very real. I don't think anyone could have embodied Elvis the way that Austin Butler did.....good grief he was great. He put his heart and soul into this film and it shows. UK rheater play is critically acclaimed), Brendan Fraser in the Aronofsky's the Whale, Adam Driver on Noah Baumbach's White Noise, Jesse Clemons in Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, Christian Bale in Amsterdamn, Brad Pitt in Damien Chazelle's Babylon to name a few. The fact that Elvis is a solid hit will strengthen the movie's Oscar nomination and Austin stands a very good chance at a nomination but we don't know how strong his competition is. If Creed 3 is miraculously as good as Creed 1 or the best rocky movies, maybe Michael b Jordan? Also Jonathan Majors is also in true events based epic war story called Devotion. Haven't seen much of his work but I have heard from others including his colleagues that he's a beast of an actor so ya...there's that.

Elvis was amazing, Dune was terribly disappointing - now begins the art of choosing wisely, I expect for Austin Butler it is going to be a bit like for Leo di Caprio, he will get a ton of interesting offers over the years and picking the right ones is probably not that easy. Anyway, it was a stellar performance in Elvis, and he has a beautiful energy behind the scenes as well, so I hope we will see him in many good films in the future, but sorry, I cannot bring myself to watch a sequel of Dune.
Yes, Elvis was PHENOMENAL! 👏👏👏👏Gonna go see it again for the 2nd time soon! For Dune, I haven’t seen it yet but I will someday. If the trailer for the sequel looks good, I will probably go watch it because I’m a fan of Zendaya and to see her compete with Timothee and Austin next is gonna be interesting, probably exciting too. Zendaya was great in all 3 Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland, Greatest Showman musical with Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Rebecca Ferguson, plus voicing Meechee the Yeti in the cartoon movie “Smallfoot” I think she has done some pretty good movies so far, which means I will give Dune a try someday and hopefully the sequel with Austin looks good for me to watch when it releases
I fear Austin is going to go for the sci fi and comic book character roles. Those movies make a lot of money, but I don't see the major actors like Leo, Brad and Tom dressing up in costumes. Austin needs to continue to go for leading "human" man roles.
The role of Feyd Rautha is of a sadistic evil man. At least that's how Sting played him in the first Dune in the 80s. I can't bear to see Austin being mean.
Austin played another bad guy “Tex Watson” the gangster/killer in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I have to admit: that movie is raunchy and very intense - it’s not something I would see often, but he still did a good job. As for Dune, I’ve never seen the 1984 version but I have seen the reboot last week My thoughts on the reboot: It’s good, but a little confusing. I need to re-watch it again a few more times at least to help me understand it better so then I know what to expect for the sequel when it comes out. If the trailer for part 2 looks good, I will watch it because I’m a fan of Zendaya, and to see her compete with Austin is gonna be interesting and exciting. I know it’s a little skeptical to see him playing a villain again, but I’m sure he’ll play a protagonist again in other roles on whatever movies he’ll make in the future.

His uncle the Baron Harkonnen wants Feyd to succeed him and be Baron. Feyd is also 17 in the book, and was created to rule just like Paul. Whereas Paul is kind and good, Feyd is sinister and cruel like his uncle. He will have to battle Paul and lose.

Elvis was amazing, Dune was terribly disappointing - now begins the art of choosing wisely, I expect for Austin Butler it is going to be a bit like for Leo di Caprio, he will get a ton of interesting offers over the years and picking the right ones is probably not that easy. Anyway, it was a stellar performance in Elvis, and he has a beautiful energy behind the scenes as well, so I hope we will see him in many good films in the future, but sorry, I cannot bring myself to watch a sequel of Dune.
Yes, Elvis was PHENOMENAL! 👏👏👏👏Gonna go see it again for the 2nd time soon! For Dune, I haven’t seen it yet but I will someday. If the trailer for the sequel looks good, I will probably go watch it because I’m a fan of Zendaya and to see her compete with Timothee and Austin next is gonna be interesting, probably exciting too. Zendaya was great in all 3 Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland, Greatest Showman musical with Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Rebecca Ferguson, plus voicing Meechee the Yeti in the cartoon movie “Smallfoot”
I think she has done some pretty good movies so far, which means I will give Dune a try someday and hopefully the sequel with Austin looks good for me to watch when it releases

I fear Austin is going to go for the sci fi and comic book character roles. Those movies make a lot of money, but I don't see the major actors like Leo, Brad and Tom dressing up in costumes. Austin needs to continue to go for leading "human" man roles.

The role of Feyd Rautha is of a sadistic evil man. At least that's how Sting played him in the first Dune in the 80s. I can't bear to see Austin being mean.
Austin played another bad guy “Tex Watson” the gangster/killer in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I have to admit: that movie is raunchy and very intense - it’s not something I would see often, but he still did a good job.
As for Dune, I’ve never seen the 1984 version but I have seen the reboot last week
My thoughts on the reboot: It’s good, but a little confusing. I need to re-watch it again a few more times at least to help me understand it better so then I know what to expect for the sequel when it comes out. I know it’s a little skeptical to see him playing a villain again, but I’m sure he’ll play a protagonist again in other roles on whatever movies he’ll make in the future.
@@jennylee1510 I read DUNE so long ago. But I know Feyd is called dark haired and beautiful with blue eyes and the famous Harkonnen pouty lips. His uncle the Baron Harkonnen wants Feyd to succeed him and be Baron. Feyd is also 17 in the book, and was created to rule just like Paul. Whereas Paul is kind and good, Feyd is sinister and cruel like his uncle. He will have to battle Paul and lose.
El us us a big success for him, his first, but for others to be there needs to be good movies.. They where talking about some actors carriers, but all of them made just a few movies in the last... Decade? Because there are no good movies beeing made . characters movies, where is about the characters not the effects, not about the fantasy world

It is a shame they even made this movie!!! Baz Luhrman should have played Tom Parker - though he looks just like Dennis Hopper in his scariest part ever!
