Great interview. I actually can imagine Austin playing James Bond. If you look at his transformation from Elvis in the pink suit in the 1950s to mature Elvis in the 1970s, I think he can become whoever he wants. Before “Elvis”, the last movie I went to see in a theater was “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and I remembered the names of all the Manson gang members. I had to go back and really look at Tex Watson to realize that it was Austin. Too bad my other favorite actor, Brad Pitt, killed him. 🤣

Just because people are not that familiar with Elvis' work and/or private life - does not make this movie any better!!!The less than mediocre acting and very weak plot makes this movie a huge waste of millions of dollars - I could not watch it to the end, it was so fake and phony and falsely portrayed Elvis with an actor who did not look like him at all Any impersonator - including Andy Kaufmann - would have done a better job. True - Andy Kaufmann is dead- but still - this wimpy stupid producer could have found somebody who looked more like Elvis than Austin Butler. Terrible actor with a huge ego - hope Hollywood eats him alive!

Austin is a wonderful being and very talented actor. Ok he did not look like Elvis for sure I agree. I was a bit not into the story completely when watching the first part of the film, because I kept thinking "he does not look like him". But then when he performed those iconic powerful songs in the movie, I was captured. Especially the older Elvis. It was him. It was like seeing him come alive. Because Austin did get into the depth of Elvis's character, of his demons, his anxiety and his emotions. He not only played him, he became him. So no Austin does not deserve your insult. He deserves a beautiful fulfilling career ahead of him.
