    Thanks for the video. I pick-up my Rexton Ultimate in a few days. I ordered it in September 2021. I am pretty sure the wait will be worth. Unless I missed it in your review, the Rexton also has Australia wide roadside assist. Which is another plusses. Thanks again for your great review style.

    Great video mate. The South Korean market has alot of options and for some reason,the salesman when I went buy mine,I did a year research,so I knew the car back to front,he said it wasn't available to the Australian market as well as the satnav too.this car has alot of stuff.for example you can unlock the car by you just walking next to it and also the boot without you touching any button or the boot.you can talk through the speakers to the people at the back,u can change your indicator blinking sounds,it has hi beam assistance if you forget to turn it off, so much more,the best car for me,so comfortable and feels solid.

    @Webby On Cars - Hi, I have a 2008 SsangYong Rexton RX270 XVT with a M.Benz 5 Cylinder TDI Diesel and 5 speed M.Benz. auto. I purchased it from the original owner 3 & 1/2 years ago. It is absolutely immaculate and has only recently turned over 120,000 km. Love it!
    Probably a bit agricultural compared to a 2021/2022 REXTON. They've come a long way since the early days as you would expect. I would have absolutely no hesitation buying the latest Rex Ultimate, great value for the $$'s.
    My only critique is the Ultimate comes with Chrome finish 20" wheels with low profile tyres. Maybe great on a smooth highway. However, Australia does not have very many smooth highways !! Low profile tyres off-road are NOT a good choice.
    The standard level Rex has 19" wheels and higher profile tyres. A far better choice in Straya. I would take the Ultimate any day with the 19" wheels, if it was an option. In fact, the 20" wheels would stop me from buying the Rexton Ultimate. Worth thinking about!

    • @WebbyOnCars
      @WebbyOnCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Robert Little It would be good if they offered the customer the choice of having smaller wheels on the Ultimate like Ford do on the Everest Titanium, as the 20"' wheels do unsettle the car over bumps a bit. It would then make it an even better family SUV.

    Love your style mate. The video was excellent with just a couple of minor hiccups. The First being The power is actually 148 Kw, Not 147 Kw but I'm sure that was just a slip of the tongue. The second is a very common mistake that a lot of Journos make, and that is the Rexton is not based on any ute. The Musso on the other hand is based on the Rexton. The new 8 speed transmission is A hyundai Transy unit, but the engine is a Ssangyong. Overall a very good effort with no bull, really enjoyed it. I'll sign this off as John . For some reason my profile is not coming up.

    Great video, thanks for uploading it. I have the Rexton 2021, but here, in Israel, it comes without the 360 (bird view) cameras, and what looks as the same multi media. do you raken there is a way to add the camera system?

      I don’t think you’d be able to add the 360 cameras without spending a lot of money, or it might not be feasible to do it at all.

    Quick question: Does this car have head up display?
    Also any chance you can do a LDV D90 executive review. Our family is considering between rexton and the D90 as a family hauler.

      Your mad if you choose Chinese over Korean manufacture. The Rexton is one of the best tow vehicles on the market with a GCM of 6350kg compare that to the GCM of the LDV. (I don't have a dog in the fight, I have buyers remorse as I could not buy SY muso while it was under receivership so I bought Triton, now SY is purchased by Edison chosing it over anything else in their classes (Muso and Rexton) is a no brainer.

    While the gearbox is indeed Hyundai, the 2,2 litre diesel is proprietary to SsangYong. Engine architecture wise it resembles the older 2.2 Mercedes Benz engine, but updated to the new environment regulations.

    REXTON is the best value towing vehicle on the market. So under recognised. With a huge GCM of 6350kg!!! (To keep perspective, the Ford ranger (purported one of the best tow utes) has only 6000kg GCM). (If u don't know why GCM matters, look it up, its the most critical towing spec).
    Way better than nearly any UTE on the market (except the big usa trucks like ram etc that cost an arm and a leg). Its a gorgeous car. BUT the recent partnership with BYD in China on their EVs is a big red flag on future quality and means if u buy it u r sadly supporting the Chinese belt and road initiative. EDISON needs to ditch the china partnership ASAP

    • @WebbyOnCars
      @WebbyOnCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @easeinbox you’re right it’s a great tow car, unfortunately a lot of people are put off because they don’t know much about the brand and probably haven’t seen many in the road

      The UK model is also missing the lots of standard South Korean spec such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, memory seats, the nappa leather is still standard but not quilted and no auto stop start. Have been a hyundai SUV driver since 2008 but hyundai is losing the plot with poor towing capacity, smaller engines and the much higher costs which means in the Uk having to pay extortionate annual road taxes. Having driven a 2021 Rexton we were very impressed.

  • @DaveDVideoMaker

    This is not a unibody construction SUV; it’s got a solid frame. Most SUVs nowadays have unibody construction, which is cheaper to make and is lighter.

    • @WebbyOnCars
      @WebbyOnCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dave D’Video Maker That’s because it’s based on a Ute platform.

    • @DaveDVideoMaker
      @DaveDVideoMaker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WebbyOnCars Unibody construction is more rigid than body on frame, gets better handling and better gas mileage.
      Between the Bronco models, the Bronco Sport made in Mexico is unibody, but the Bronco made in Michigan has a full frame. And in the case of the Rexton, it has a full frame (which a lot of utes use).

    • @WebbyOnCars
      @WebbyOnCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaveDVideoMaker it’s cheaper for a manufacturer to use the same body when using a Ute as the basis for an SUV

    • @DaveDVideoMaker
      @DaveDVideoMaker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WebbyOnCars Normally it should be cheaper for the manufacturer to use unibody construction instead of body on frame.
      The Bronco Sport is cheaper than the regular Bronco due to the lighter and cheaper unibody construction.

    • @DaveDVideoMaker
      @DaveDVideoMaker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WebbyOnCars The same case can be said for the Ford Bronco, Ford Everest, Ford Expedition, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Sequoia, Isuzu MUX, Mitsubishi Shogun Sport, and a whole lot more. They’re basically utes turned into SUVs.
