Thank you Elly, I really enjoy your encouraging words since I have went through the same tongue surgery and it is hard to accept because I love to sing to but that’s not going to stop me with the help of God!!

Thanks for the video, this really puts things in a different perspective.
    As for what helps me:
Being proactive/& the opposite of procrastination, starting small.
    .
ex. Need to clean your room, change the sheets, throw away trash, organize stuff, do laundry, sweep, vacuum, hang clothes, and donate clothes. This looks overwhelming and almost creates mental barriers lol.
I start small. Just picking up a single piece of trash and putting it in the trash can is huge! Pick up one piece of trash a day, but everyday and you are on your way to a clean room.
    .
An even better example I have is for fitness. (I used to be in peak bodybuilding condition, but I have slacked so this next one applies directly to myself as well.)
The idea is: do 5 push-ups a day. Literally that's all, one set of 5 push-ups. But the catch is that tommorow you will do 5 as well. Etcetera, etcetera. We all wanna get fit NOW so we jump on the floor and grind out 20 push-ups using all our strength and dont feel too accomplished at all, sometimes even bad because we are out of conditioning. Then the next day the last thing we want to do is that same set of grueling, shakey, sloppy push-ups which we didn't even feel good about. The trick is just 5 push-ups, but everyday besides the weekend. As we perfectly execute those we feel good for getting off our butts, and confident for doing them with a solid form. We can do them again tommorow and get that same feeling again.
And if were really feeling motivated we can add a set of 5 crunches(daily) or any workout of choice.
    .
And sometimes just some meditation or introspection like you mentioned. Have a blessed day everyone.

This is defently me. I suffer from depression and anxiety and somedays I think nothing is going right and then for months I cant get that thought or thoughts out of my head.

    • @EllyBrown
      @EllyBrown  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The fact that you can recognize that is huge! Imagine: the next time you see yourself doing it, you will be aware. And once you are aware, you can take steps to change it. That is a wonderful thing! It also proves that "you" are not your thoughts. "You" are the one WATCHING your thoughts. Our thoughts are often just our egos, running it's mouth. And the "real" me has the ability to tell that clown to back off hahahaa

People are inclined to ask, "Why me?" Yet, when they see someone who is physically or mentally "disabled", they rarely ask, "Why NOT me?"
The Book of Job in the Holy Bible keeps me humble and grateful for all things.
When I count my blessings nowadays, you're right up there at the top, Elly. You amaze, astonish, and inspire me over and over and over again.
God bless you and yours real good.
