Buying and BLOWING Cheap Dual Subwoofer

- Went out to Autozone and picked up some goodies. I bought this sub specifically to blow it up. It's cheap and it's terrible and nobody who cares about their car audio setup should EVER buy one. I did you all a favor by putting this thing out of its misery.
Sorry about the bad auto-focus :( My next investment for this channel is gonna be a better camera.

I could imagine that little Dual sub would actually sound decent in a better box.
I got one of them duals on market place for 10 bucks. It’s stays at 600 watts all day long. Never had a issue with it 😂😂
That 10” Dual sub can really take quite the beating
That sub took a boatload of punishment. But that is to be expected when you put that much distortion into the sub. It held up quite well for such a cheap subwoofer considering that it was over powered by the crown 1502. 525w @ 4 ohms. It took it like a champ. I wouldn't buy one but look at the punishment it took.

I'm pretty impressed with the abuse this cheap sub took. I used to have the exact same one hooked up to a Boss 400 watt amp in my room.

Speaker is actually holding up kinda good I just bought one but it's only going to be a temporary until I can get the other replaced. I think where I got it from they told me it was only going to put out 150 watts but it's 175 watts rms so I think they underpowered it and that's why I've gone thru 2 already and both are blown
that sub in a bit bigger ported box actually is quite nice it just don't take more than 300 watts

Those subs aren't for the people who want there shit slappin, there for the dads who just wants a little bass without spending a lot of money for it, in that case this sub isn't to bad.
That sub would have sounded much better in a bigger ported box
I don’t think it’s a bad sub for $55 it’s a lot more than decent you should used ear plug with this kind of experiment too
It's funny it's called break in period no matter what sub u purchase I no some on that use that set up and love it for what he paid for it
I have 2 of these, one of already blown, well the voice coil is messed up but it's not burnt, but I use my other on a 1000watt amp. This is why I'm scared to turn my amp up all the way on it 😂😂, I have other subs as well, and I do agree, the box is not good, I used a washcloth to clog up the "port" so it's sealed pretty good and it sounds better.

@@aidanjdietz One of them sounded good until I got rid of it, I'm bumping on 2500 watts now with a Sony explode and a Rockford Fosgate in a bandpass ground shaker box

for what and who its intended for; that $50 sub isn’t a bad deal.
I bought one of these just for the mean time and it works. once its blown just replace it with something better!
How has it held up?
@@jaytcapinpinstill going good, clipped a few times but just turn the gain down. Want to replace it soon just to hear the difference. Definitely doesn't wake the neighbors up but adds good bass

Just bought a live streaming setup but idk what content to post yet.
I used to work at an electronics repair shop and I was specifically working in the speaker shop, repairing blown speakers, replacing amplifiers, and such. I can confirm that this model of Dual is ass, I've personally worked on many and almost all of them had a completely separated and burned voice coil as well as being really cheaply made. The fucking woofer is just so fragile and the cabinet just plain sucks. If it wasnt the coil, it was a shifted magnet and better yet the customers said they werent even used that much! If you want a plain cheap woofer, just get a JBL, most are decent and last pretty long

really it just depends on the coil. cheap dual subs will get melty/smokey at around 250 but high end 2000$ subs can get really hot and be fine. more than 450.
