Yasuhiro Yamashita (山下 泰裕 Yamashita Yasuhiro, born June 1, 1957 in Yamato, Kumamoto) is one of the most successful judo competitors of all time. He currently works as an instructor or advisor for numerous organizations, including Tokai University, the International Judo Federation, and the All Japan Judo Federation. He retired from competitive judo on June 17, 1985 after a remarkable career where he won five gold medals in international competitions and marked 203 consecutive victories (with 7 draws in-between) until his retirement. He received the Japanese National Prize of Honor on October 9, 1984.

54:02 why no point? It's like an Uchi mata Sukashi - counter. Yamashita attacked with Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi, but Saito anticipated it and countered same timing as Sukashi.

Because it was judged to be a slip under Yamashita. At that time, a slip was not a point. Now it would be a point for Saito.

Maybe because he lost grip control, or because yamashita falls in his butt... Or maybe because was against yamashita xD... For me was yuko at least
Also, this resulted in that legitimate technique being discouraged and eventually banned. :(

He would have been a monster in MMA
If MMA was popular earlier. Yamashita had both natural skills and unique discipline; a master judoka amongst masters. If he channeled his will to MMA when younger, imagine what he might of accomplished. However, I am satisfied with his amazing life as the Saint of Judo.
