    The spare clutch cable is such a good idea

    Some great ides for upgrades! What did you use (and how did you) setup the dash LEDs for your turn indicators? In the sunlight, I can't see if my turn signal is is on or off.

      This is where I got my tag lights for the turn signals, they work great.

    Congrats on a great bike and thank you for your Military Service...as an Army vet I’m sensitive to those things. I’ve been thinking strongly about the Ninja 400...I have a big Vulcan cruiser (will keep it) but want something smaller & more nimble to enjoy sometimes. Was impressed when I saw it at the dealership. Ques: Did you have to remove the body work to install the brake & signal light modulator? For you, is there a significant difference between the engines & handling of the 300 and 400cc’s? Installing a secondary clutch cable is a great idea! Ride safe and enjoy.

      The Ninja 300 & 400 are both fun, good bikes but the 400 is more snappy and they handle about the same. Yes you will have to take off some of the body panels but it's easy with basic tools. One thing that helps is putting the screw you just removed back in the panel or nut it came of. These bikes are bullet proof and will last a long time with basic maintenance.

      Just trying to NOT be a "Hood-ornament" for a distracted soccer mom, with the brake lights. Overall, I like the bike, but liked my 300 Ninja better.

    Very nicely done.
    Simple and practical mods that were easy to understand. If all goes well, I should be picking up my 400 in a couple of days. How is the power output for you? This will not be my first bike, but I hace been told that it is perfect for a beginning or returning rider; that describes me perfectly. I will also be doing some power mods as well, after I break it in and get used to it. Have you done anything like that? How much of a difference does it make with an airbox filter (or a direct intake mod), a nice exhaust and maybe some computer tuning?

    • @motor8654
      @motor8654  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The power is fine the way it comes, my last bike was the Ninja 300R and the 400 is way more snappy. I haven't done any power mods other than the air filter. Maybe a good track rider will notice power mods but for the average street rider it's not necessary. It handles well and I can drag my knee and that's good enough for me. Enjoy your new bike, you'll like it.

      It's a fun bike, the only thing I'm not crazy about is the gas tank is smaller than my Ninja 300R by about a gallon or so to save weight. The down-side is you only get about 200 miles before needing gas.

  • @redkoi9110

    Great work w/ the bike. You inspired me to remove the big Ninja stickers off my fairings.
    What did you use to remove the sticker? I assume removing the sticker leaves no nasty residue?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @motor8654
      @motor8654  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It comes right off, or try heating it with a hairdryer. I don't remember any residue, but a little WD-40 on a rag would remove any of that. You'll like it.

    • @redkoi9110
      @redkoi9110 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Other than the front deflection tape you have some truly elegant mods I wish I had seen before I began modding my bike. Since mine is a KRT and not a solid color like yours, which looks so much better without the Ninja decals I have removed and changed only some decals. All in all great mods on your awesome looking bike. You should be proud. Will you be installing a slip on exhaust? My used 2020 KRT with 400 miles came with one which sounds great but I wish I had the original as well.
