I feel like the reasons we used to buy luxury goods no longer hold true. I love the feel of well made, soft as cotton. Now that these stores are cutting corners and jacking up prices, young people don't see the value and luxury side, so they're the only ones left to see for themselves. I just paid $4.50 a shirt here in Peru and snagged 3 of them. Everything on the real shirt is what I have except a collar tag. It just says L for large. But the print on the short and the colors match evenly. T-shirt quality is about a 8/10 but for less than $5 who's to blame. I got a damn good copycat

You’re wrong about quite a few things, prime example not every gucci item has that distressing like you said. There’s millions of shirts and even hoodies they’ve made that don’t have any sort of distressing. There’s also multiple variations of the tags such as the tags on the “mr. Freedom” t shirt they did, completely different tag in every way plus older Gucci items have different tags.
