+XArmy187 I'll tell ya, after owning a lot of fast cars.. I always miss the first one. Not because it was the fasted, but because it sure as hell felt like it. hahaha
I bought a 2018 GT premium edition last year. Took a coworker for a spin. When I hammered it and went sideways, literally for 2.5 seconds, he screamed like a little girl. I laughed about that for a week. I love that car.
"its a lot harder when its cold"--best line ever heard from the FRONT seat of a Mustang. Like a 1955 Chevy, there's so little weight to overcome initially, giving it its feeling of speed. I still have my 1986 GT, they were always a tin can with a truck engine for torque and "a little cam" for idle. In the days of Total Performance, Ford preferred a lot of head port (Clevelands, Boss, etc) and a relatively tame cam.
Thanks! Convertibles can be heavier, but not by much, my car is 3,090lbs compared to 2006 mustangs, the hardtops are 3,500 to 3,600 pounds. Gears, exhaust, intake, bump the timing, and some good tires will make the car almost 2 seconds quicker in the 1/4 mile from a completely stock car, and shouldn't cost more then $1000 if you buy used stuff, and take your time to find parts to save money. My exhaust from headers to catback cost $275 total.
Looking back watching this video, watched it all the time when I was like 13 wanted a foxbody badd😂 I think now I've had probably 6 of them sense then video brings back old memories!

sounds good man, I miss my old 93 gt with cam and heads and bolt ons. Sounded just like that. Always thought it was so fast until i bought my 300c SRT-8. Thats a whole diff animal. it takes alot to make the old foxbody 5.0's actually fast. Sound is one thing but actually fast is another. But remember "everybodys idea of fast is different"
@@theradchase3094 As much as I hate to say it or even think it, stock for stock it is no match. The SRT8 beats a foxbody every time. Even with basic bolt ons on the foxbody, the SRT8 still wins. Now, the newer coyotes, different story.
I love the sound of these foxes! I miss my '89 5.0 vert sometimes, but my bolt-on and tuned '99 GT looks cooler and is way faster. (Not faster than yours, but compared to stock...)
@Xarmy187 thanx for gettin back to me, i have a simular build in mind but im going to run AFR 185's and a comp cam maybe not sure yet, sounds great and pulls hard bro!

Pretty cool how you can hear the cams really start kicking hard at around 2400 rpm at 2:13 when they hit their powerband... awesome car dude. Sounds great.
lol, car wasn't tuned, had just got it back together. it picked up over 30rwhp after a tune. And yes, cold, warm, whatever this car would destroy the tires in second. Most the "breaking loose in second gear" wasn't even half throttle in first. its got 4.10's you can't give it full in first unless you are on drag radials
I love this stuff... reminds me why Im a car guy. I got a Camaro but I got nothing but love for the Fox bodies too! Believe it or not a similar stunt got me a "Too Fast For Conditions" ticket gassing it through the first two gears on an interstate on ramp. What a bunch of BS.

@Xarmy187 the bbk seems fine, he probably wont switch it off. he has had 4 different intake manifolds on it, and i would agree this one is the best so far. its had the stock manifold, ford racing cobra manifold and a trick flow R manifold a few years ago, we put a trick flow R manifold on a stock motor(his 92 convertible) and that really sucked! the torque was gone and couldnt even do a burn out. then after some research and found out that it was way too big for a stock motor.
@nivin69 haha, yea, 2300-2600 ish. I love that sound. never was there with the flow-masters, but noticed it the first day I put on the mac catback. LOVE that sound, haha
just some advice... When you skip a gear say in you're case going from 3rd to 5th you still need to go through 4th to get to 5th. you don't have to let out of the clutch in 4th just go 3rd 4th 5th really fast it's easier for you and your transmission and it won't screw up your syncros or grind any gears.
@1965mustangfb really depends on how wild you go. but a mild build will make 350-400rwhp and cost about 7,000 if you do everything right, not including a transmission, rearend, or suspension that can take it.
I was going to put afr 165 heads, Anderson Ford Motorsports n61 cam on my 85000 mile stock bottom end but I said to myself to just wait because I did not want to do the same thing twice once I ordered up a D.S.S. 331 short block. So I went from having a 5.0 with heads/cam to just saying fuck it and waiting till I got my short block and doing things just once. I also spent big bucks on a complete Areomotive fuel system with 30pound injectors. Also a time saver by doing it all at once. My only problem is that the 165 AFR heads are to small because they are meant for 302/306 size setup. I would say that there is another 45/50 horses I am missing out on but still holyshit what a world of difference.
@metalman302 yup! cant garentee the same results as my car, but I would get the TFS2 cam. only problem with it is it is hard to tune said my tuner. so if its your every day drive to work car, I would get the tfs1. otherwise get the stage 2 4.10's in the rear

This car sounds really good, love my 25th anniversry
@daviddavido yea, they are. but mainly i think its the suspension. its kinda tight in the rear so the camera gets jarred pretty bad.
I really hope that you still own this gem 🤞.. I have wanted a Foxbody since I was 8yrs old and my father's friend took me for a ride in his. He used to go race it on the weekends and I heard he was one of the fastest cars there for a few years. Anyways thanks for sharing this with us. 🙏🍻
Appreciate it. I do still have the car, but its been put on the back burner for quite a while. I have a 2013 mustang thats supercharged and gets all the love lol
I use to watch a guy tear out of his yard almost everyday in a fox, its what got me fascinated by them. then owning one i got obsessed .
@@Xarmy187 Nice, Well good luck with them both.. I'm still hoping to get my hands on a LX Hatch Foxbody that isn't beat to hell or rotted out lol. The Northeast just kills cars in no time at all or I find one that is way too expensive. But I'll get one eventually.. Take care and thanks again for sharing. 🙏🍻
@@imhappyandyou.4003 save up, and find something you can go pickup in another state perhaps. Foxbody prices have gone up quite a bit. they are becoming more rare in good shape.
Good luck!
this is why i love riding in the hemi cuda
@mattingly50187 I assume your asking me? I am using a ported typhoon intake from professional products. both the upper and lower intake have been cleaned up, upper ported for the throttle body, and lower has all of the runners hogged out.
@Xarmy187 Thanks. I'm actually considering buying one. I got to ride in a friend's Terminator with a 2.3L Whipple a few weeks back. I'd to have even a third of what he has on tap (630+). His license plate is Z06HNTR. :D
Your tripping that was nice shifting. Smooth solid im not trying to prove how quick i can shift shifting.
@bmwall67 haha, no problem.
BBK shortie headers, BBK offroad H pipe, MAC catback
Whats up with the interior ? looks like theres shit missing, like around the shifting knob
Sounds good!
