- A patient who undergoes dialysis regularly and stick onto the medications and the diet advise and the regular checkups can lead a normal life that, means they can lead a normal life like another individual. So the average life expectancy for any individual is they can live anywhere more than 40 years after dialysis. We have patients who are living for more than 25 years on dialysis. So they can lead a normal life on dialysis.
Iam surviving on dialysis since last 8 months, weekly twice on dialysis, regular dialysis, good diet, very less liquid intake, walking regularly, keep mind utmost peace then we can lead a regular life 👍👍
I have been for two years and just found out I was off the list for transplant because I will not take the jab; That is why I looked at this video and I hope you are doing well.

First time I’ve seen a Dr say you can live a normal life on dialysis. While it’s not a “normal” life I have been living on dialysis for 32 years.

Lead a normal life? Are you kidding me? I have had CKD for 6 years. I am End Stage Renal Disease now, on Hemodialyis. Nothing is normal about this life.. chronic nausea, daily vomiting, handfulls of daily pills, three days a week hooked to machine for 4 hours.. exhausted, fatigued, major depressive disorder, extreme weight loss to the point my muscles atrophied and i ended up in a nursing home to regain strength to walk and breathe. Poor appetite, abnormal diet requirements and eliminations of many foods, cogitive delays, foggy brain, heart attacks and stroke, lung damage, skin damage, stomach damage... Normal? No way... in fact, saying this is doing a disservice to ESRD patients. We are suffering daily, we are not living normal lives, but if you tell people that, they will look at us as if nothing is really wrong with us, when there is plenty wrong and a lot we have to deal with on a daily basis. Nomal? Are you kidding? I'm so weak from my ESRD that i cannot drive, shop, cook, clean, care properly for myself, enjoy hobbies or friends, are you kdding? ESRD has isolated me to an extreme... is that normal? Doctor after doctor, hospital stays, more doctors, is that normal? Swelling, pain, headaches, teeth problems... NORMAL?? Fistulas? Normal? Jugular IV"s? Normal? Peritoneal tubes? Normal? Are you kidding? How sad you threw us all under the bus like this.. we have enough problems without you calling our illness, NORMAL... it is anything BUT normal and this is no life! It is just existing!
I just started dylasis early November and I felt all of this , and even before starting dylasis with esrd this is far from normal this is a suffering depressing disease with not to many answers

I’ve been doing dialysis for 32 years. I’ve been where you are. For me, I always say the first ten years were the hardest. I now follow a very strict diet. Following that diet , I stayed out of the hospital for over ten years. Bad luck hit me when I got food poisoning at a local restaurant. Spent a week in the hospital and ended up with a pacemaker from the poisoning.

@@Examprac yes that is because your diet is off. You probably have too much phosphorus in your diet. It will take weeks to get rid of that. Talk to a your dr about your dietary needs. Get rid of beans, sodas, milk, cheese etc.

The average lifespan of a dialysis patient is 15 years. Renal failure is not what will kill us but heart failure. Since the machine is pumping our blood in and out as fast as possible to clean it. Our normal, natural heart rate can not keep up. So we get put on blood pressure, AFIB, Coumadin ( to stop blood clots from forming) etc..., to counter act. (I should be on 15 different kinds of medications, but I refuse)
Of course no medical professional will tell you this. That is a fact, even if you ask them about it. They will not answer you honestly.
I have a hereditary disease (PKD) I have ben on dialysis for 13 years. I do my home work, read lots of studies journals and papers not only here in the U.S. but worldwide too. Doctors hate me because they cannot fob me off anymore.

Deserae Ward hello Deserae . I'm doing great. I started out in the dialysis center and I cramped like crazy. The center run the machine rate at 450 and I always felt bad and tired all the time. Please if you want to live 30 years or more learn how to do self home dialysis at home. You can do it and it's easy. Tell them you do not want to start out in the center. They will surgically out a fistula in your arm so it will be ready for training and dialysis. You still have time to stay away from dialysis. They will put you on when your glomerulus rate go to 13. Stay away from protein from red meats. Get it from veggies and fish or chicken. Drink water. Stay away from black tea or dark sodas. Lowered your sugar and salt intake. Use artificial sweeteners. I lost my kidneys due to high blood sugars and high blood pressures. You have to change your diet if not you will be on dialysis in 8 to 10 years. I did not listen. If you see bubbles in toilet after you urinate it's a bad sign. Research and stop eating processed food!!!

With all due respect, that doesn't seem like a good answer in that it is not thorough. I think that talking about the upward range limits is definitely uplifting for some, but if you were speaking to the average, you should include data about how 1/4th of dialysis patients over 50-or-so years old don't live to the end of the first year on dialysis (most likely due to non-compliance, tbh). I'm a bit of an outlier at 25 yrs old, so I suppose this might be a more realistic answer for a young, compliant patient, but it isn't really fair to deny people the statistics when it could literally save their life...
Richard Hassinger compliance is something diyalisis clinics and nephrologists came up with to avoid law suits and liability. most clinics dont provide enough protein to its patients..compare stats in europe compared to US.. Us heath system doesnt cover nutrition to patients unlike advanced countries. compliance my ass ppl need help.there is none

People go to work 8-10+ hours a day.. it makes sense they can live a “normal” life relying on a machine just 12 hours a week.
I have been on daiysis almost 7 years. 3.5X3. I'm too weak to work. But I see many people continuing to work. I believe that it is probably people early in dialysis treatment. Excuse my rambling...

My father is on dialysis for the last two months through a catheter on right neck. We underwent a surgery for fistula on left arm but it failed. But the entire left hand has swelling and causing pain since the surgery i.e. last 1 month. We are also not able to go for another fistula on right hand because the left hand is not well for blood pressure measurement or blood test. Please suggest whether we can continue for another 2 -3 months on neck till the left hand becomes normal 🙏

Left hand you can do. Catheter is for one month only max 1.5 month there can be chance for infection. Make sure to clean catheter by the doctor and flow of blood should be proper. Experience bcz my dad is suffering with dialysis. Make sure regular ceterain check up is must.
If you are going for.peritonal dialysis do it at st. Johns - they do a number of cases. Avoid places like apollo since inserting peritonal catheter cost me 2.5 lakhs and it was a.miserable failure. Had to spend 60000 at another hospital to pull out the catheter.
Now im 30 years. Im undergoing dialysis for 8 months. Im also having urinary infection. Life is very difficult 😂

Doctor i have one doubt ..... if cause of pitutary gland kidney get failure .... reason is manganeese level high in pitutary gland ...so atrrenal gland function increased ... but then y we cant cure this kidney recover without dialysis ... then if they do dialysisv . Kidney get recover come back.. how long it will take to recover and ... renal pyrimid get failure. Now .. after dialysis .. renel prymid get recover... one of the renals only affected .. other world normal .. but doctor tell 95 percent kidney get failure. I think they told about the renal prymid function . Pls reply sir ..

Doctor Directly told that his kidney is damaged at all...so, we were admitted for 3 months in hospital...
Den after good treatment his creatinine level slowly came down to 8..
N after tht we were told to come for monthly checkup, n never miss monthly checkups or else it can rise again...we followed complete diet, little slight yoga, prescribed medicines n now creatinine is 4...
He is well but he lost his weight , loss of appetite..
He was being dialysiaed for 5 times when we were admitted last year...
But now as for good improvement dialysis is not needed....❤️😭..
