What is the mocap setup even like on this? Is it transferring her movements into the muppet or is it capping like just her hand waving around a controller or what?

It's just tracking her arms and hands. Later in the stream we got to see the full setup, which is basically just both of Ame's arms separated by an invisible torso. There was a cute bit where they put Ame's arms on top of Kiara and waved them around.

@@Sssaaatttuuurrrnnn the invisible torso was just an OBS trick of hiding part of the model. At one moment we could see Ame's whole model with the puppet on her hand. And yes, the puppet isn't actually being tracked, it has physics applied to it when Ame waves her hand.
