I would say, as a number 1 fan. It’s due to the fact that Home Free does not make themselves above their fans. They include us, they treat us as family and friends. Well I just discovered them during the pandemic and fell in love. Not only are they so kind and generous but they’re so dang good and funny too. I have 3 brothers and a husband and son and yep, they’re goofy so they remind me of them. I think the fans love them because they sense these guys are “real”. They’re down to earth, don’t take themselves too seriously and just sing such good songs and their harmonies are just so spot on. They’re not afraid to tackle tough subjects and yet can be so funny. Quarantine has really given your music a boost due to the videos and reactors. Home Free has become kn0wn and wildly popular across cultural, racial, gender, etc lines and is still spreading throughout youtube and other social media.
This Parrothead can just imagine these guys on “A Pirate Looks at 40,” “Tin Cup Chalice,” or my favorite, “One Particular Harbour!” Okay. So I guess I’m doing home fry with that Cheeseburger in Paradise! LOL!

I’m a new Home Fry, thanks to Chris Rupp reaction videos. One of the first songs I loved was “Land of the Free”, when I first listened to it. I have lost count of how many times I have watched the music video. I enjoy dancing and singing along anytime I watch. Home Fry confession: I listen to “Do You Hear What I Hear”, “What Child Is This”, and “Full of Cheer” year round. Home Free has really helped me through a tough time with the isolation of the current state of things. I have watched Patrol Gaming for a very long time, and was so happy for him when Austin did that interview. Obviously, Home Free’s world class talent and amazing music is their main draw for fans. But beyond that, I think the main reason this group has done so well is because they have almost grown up via social media. They did the Sing Off and won, yes….but, with Patreon and all their music videos on TH-cam, things that are dynamite and gold to a particular sector of fans can go “viral” with that group of people very quickly. HF’s connection with their fans is then enhanced with their live streams and personal responses to fans in the comments sections of their videos. Not just responses from a generic “Home Free” account, but from personal TH-cam profiles from Rob, Austin, and Tim (have only seen these guys respond myself…not sure if Adam or Chance ever do too). If you think back on country music, unless the artist is VERY recent, what artist connects more and stays engaged more on social media than Home Free? I can’t think of any. And all this personal touch, intimate connection also allows HF to show the guys as genuine, down to Earth, non pretentious guys. We can see them in their own element, behind the scenes videos, etc…and everyone loves to root for good guys to win. Keep up the good work, Home Free!!

Traveling Soldier was hard for me because Dixie Chicks have been my favorite group for 20 years and these ladies are hard to follow. I would love to hear Austin sing Rascal Flats ..This would be great to hear.

Great interview Gayle!!! Anything Home Free does is so interesting. Acapella is one of my favorite types of music; however, I didn't find Home Free until the beginning of the Pandemic when I was furloughed at my job. Prior to that I was always either working or on call so I just didn't have time for anything extra. I moved from Vegas to Oregon right after the lockdown of the casinos in Vegas and suddenly had time on my hands. I decided to start an online business, accidently clicked on a YT video featuring Home Free and have been a Home Fry every since. Their music make people happy because you can see they they are happy with what they provide as performers. Combine that with them including their fans in their lives is something we fans don't always have. Star quality gets in the way with a lot of stars but Home Free stays grounded and down to earth. They go out of their way to bring us into their homes thru either their music videos or their videos that give us a little bit of insight into their lives. Through their videos, we have met their Mom's, Girl Friends, Wives, kids, Uncles and Aunts, sisters and pets through them including their fans. I also like that they are humble and kind. The genuinely like each other and it shows in their treatment of each other. So happy to have found home free! They certainly helped a lot of people throughout the pandemic with their fantastic music videos. Thank you Home Free for being there and letting us Home Fries be part of your extended family.

Full disclosure, I am a newer Home Fry and the fan base is amazing. Home Free does go out of their way to show appreciation to their fans. That said, the Nightwish Army might just rival the Home Fries in terms of devotion. HF definitely interacts with their fans more. Nightwish's lead singer makes it a point to release content on her channel answering questions. What makes all of this so much fun, is being a fan of both.
Would love to hear you do something with Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. He did a old Tavern Drinking Song with the music from the USA National Anthem, but Lyrics predating the USA Nat'l Anthem rendition. I got to meet him once in Princeton, NJ at a Mens' a capella competition. Super down home guy with a beautiful deep voice. A Drinking Song Sing-off between the Americans and French Canadians or Brits would be fun. Don't forget your Sailor outfits. Lol

I love the God Bless the USA version, Undivided, but as a female veteran, Traveling Soldier makes me cry - a weird combination of sadness and yet so proud as female vets gain recognition. Well, this California girl has my Victoria, BC ticket and flight all set up for my first Home Free show. It would have been easier for a US ticket but I wanted a front row seat and if I had to get my first passport...yay! Looking forward to early May.
These guys are the real deal, they are genuine nice guys and it shows. This is a great interview, very good question for them. At 1652 during the interview Tim said something along the line of Austin is the ____ of the band. I could not pick up the word and it is driving me crazy. I have some hearing problems and it makes it difficult sometimes to pull specific words out. Hoping someone can help?
Tim says "Austin is the DREAMER of the band", indicating that if anyone might've imagined how big HF would get, it'd be him. I have hearing problems to, so I can sympathize with not always getting every word, especially in Zoom interviews.

Full disclosure, I am a newer Home Fry and the fan base is amazing. Home Free does go out of their way to show appreciation to their fans.
That said, the Nightwish Army might just rival the Home Fries in terms of devotion. HF definitely interacts with their fans more. Nightwish's lead singer makes it a point to release content on her channel answering questions.
What makes all of this so much fun, is being a fan of both.
I would love to hear a collab between Home Free and The Mavericks. Maybe do some unplugged style songs.

Would love to hear you do something with Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. He did a old Tavern Drinking Song with the music from the USA National Anthem, but Lyrics predating the USA Nat'l Anthem rendition. I got to meet him once in Princeton, NJ at a Mens' a capella competition. Super down home guy with a beautiful deep voice.
A Drinking Song Sing-off between the Americans and French Canadians or Brits would be fun.

Land of the Free is my absolute favorite cd! I love the God Bless the USA version, Undivided, but as a female veteran, Traveling Soldier makes me cry - a weird combination of sadness and yet so proud as female vets gain recognition.

Well, this California girl has my Victoria, BC ticket and flight all set up for my first Home Free show. It would have been easier for a US ticket but I wanted a front row seat and if I had to get my first passport...yay! Looking forward to early May.
Two shows later (Victoria BC and Stockton, CA) and now I'm hoping for a US summer '23 tour so I can celebrate my 65th with Home Free.

These guys are the real deal, they are genuine nice guys and it shows. This is a great interview, very good question for them. At 1652 during the interview Tim said something along the line of Austin is the ____ of the band. I could not pick up the word and it is driving me crazy. I have some hearing problems and it makes it difficult sometimes to pull specific words out. Hoping someone can help?
Tim says "Austin is the DREAMER of the band", indicating that if anyone might've imagined how big HF would get, it'd be him. I have hearing problems to, so I can sympathize with not always getting every word, especially in Zoom interviews.

Wounder what Tim would sound like if he tried sulfur hexafluoride or the Darth Vader gas. It makes the voice really deep instead of the high voice you get from helium.

Austin is being very patient, I think I would be a bit annoyed at Tim for hogging the Limelight !!
They are very good friends beyond the band, so I doubt he minded too much. Austin has got a lot quieter anyway over the last couple of years, compared to the non-stop chatterbox he used to be.
