I was SO excited earlier opening my star-cut onyx beads... but I knew right when I held them in my hand something was off. They felt lighter than stone, and certainly not plastic bc I burned it good. Upon sacrificing 1 bead to the hammer I then seen the shiny glass texture on the inside (not authentic). Also when I broke it, it basically exploded like a bomb, tiny particles everywhere, and a stone wouldn't have that effect. So bummed bc the star-cut beads looked SOOO freaking cool😫
Sorry to read you're bummed. They're cut into start shape, perhaps think of them as glass star beads and use them. Still good, but yeah, I completely understand.

so true. I trust the rounded onyx is real because: a) the stone is cold, colder than glass, b) I know the source and it is trusted and I have been dealing with them for a long time, c) the price I bought the onyx for was fair, but not dirt cheap. I think unless I bring it to a gemologist who can do lab tests, I will never truly be certain. This is as close as I can get to it without spending hundreds of dollars per sample test fee, but you raise an extremely good point.
So 😔. Went to a known store and was actually able to look and see, it wasn't stone(,maybe plastic 40dollar plastic@that)...it made me sad. I didn't say anything. I just left. But seriously..what is this nonsense? Also, great for informing!!!
Agreed, it's sad and completely unnecessary to cheat like that. In fact, the cost is less about the strands and more about the damage to my faith in the world. Usually with stone, the density is different from glass, ditto with the natural temperature. if you've ever noticed, at room temperature, you touch strands of stone at a store and they're very cold to the touch?! hmmm, I don't know. Pearls have a certain grit that glass can't replicate, and that's how you know if it is real - rubbing together. However, with onyx and other stones, sometimes they're not done with high polish on purpose. I it could be real, just difference in polish.
I have 1 but i dont if this real or not... I found it sand i was bought sand fir my house construction.
Things get dropped and mixed in construction material all the time because a lot of gravel/stone is mined in quarries with veins of other stones. I would be curious to see!
I have raw onyx stone
i especially love raw form - just gorgeous.
Thank you. Very helpful. ❤
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Shiny in the video looks like black Obsidian
I think so, tho they billed it as black onyx
She got a hammer that I thought her video was to break the fake stone in order to prove its authenticity but nothing happened until I watched the whole video
I was actually very upset I got scammed and then filmed this.
Excellent information thank you regards from Turkey🙏
Thank you for this note!! Turkey is far away; I am sending regards to you from Canada!
hbut how sure are you that your flat rounded onyx is real? that can be faked too, you know
I fear I might get lumped in with that crowd in the eyes of those who don't really know me. However, I made this video because I was shocked and upset and feel everyone should armed with more information to combat this nonsense.
Shit I tried this with gems from wish and they weren't glass!!!
well that's good - not shitty. Don't regret sacrificing a small item in exchange for peace of mind.
I have a black glass rosary.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with glass - as long as they're not selling it as something else.
natural black onyx is rare
It is, but it should not be that expensive. I don't have a one gram cab tho and have no idea of cost.
Hmm Interesting... I don't know enough about the glass/stone/gem...etc. to form an educated opinion, yet.
I would ask if there were any other way to test it rather than smash it ?! 😌 (RIP)
Thanks for your video ! 😉🥀
agreed - would be great if we didn't have to smash it! Usually with stone, the density is different from glass, ditto with the natural temperature. if you've ever noticed, at room temperature, you touch strands of stone at a store and they're very cold to the touch?! THose are other ways to tell, but they're fairly subtle and it's hard.
I have jet stone frm Philippines🇵🇭 you see my upload
Onyx blaster
yes!!
I want to sell my jet stone frm Philippines
Thank you, no thanks. I have my trusted supplier and prefer to stay with them. Good luck
Thanx
thanks for watching
😊😊😊😊😊
thx for the smiles
I don't care,even glass is from God.
Put on 🌞 sunlight and you have energy.
I agree with you, but it depends on whether you're trying to buy glass or actual black onyx. If you think you're buying genuine stone, then you should not be sold something else. I cannot stand it when sellers do that. It's dishonest.
