    You can’t mess with KTM/Husky performance “Out of the box”. But Honda’s $9,899 factory vs KTM $11,399 leaves room for adjustment to put the Honda right there. However, Honda reliability is unprecedented, and KTM isn’t far behind, I just cannot find local support for KTM. I’m looking to swap out my 17 RMX450Z and I was pondering the Husky 501, but this Honda has my attention bang for the buck. Great review my friend, nice back to back lap.🤙🏼

      Thanks! The '21 CRF450R Works Edition MSRP is $12,380 so actually a bit more than the KTM Factory Edition. The base 21 CRF450R MSRP is $9599. Honda is known for high quality products!

      @@mxengineer1 , sorry I meant that the Honda RX factory is $9899. I’m heading to Honda tomorrow hopefully to trade my 17 RMX for the 21 RX MSRP $9,899. I like KTM too, but my nearest dealer is 110 miles away. I would’ve done an FE501 but the price of the Honda horsepower per dollar is a great deal. The FE laid down 44 whp while the Honda laid a dyno’d 53 whp.

    how does the RX compare to the yz450fx? probably comparable weight, figured with the Yamaha's lower CG, might make it easier to maneuver in the tight sections.

      I've ridden a 2018 YZ450FX a while ago. I think it felt a bit heavier(!!) in motion than the quick steering/handling CRF450RX. The YZ450FX has better stability at speed and very good KYB suspension setting that keeps the bike planted. The CRF450RX has excellent turn initiation and quick steering so "feels" lighter in motion. The RX has the muffin top fuel tank that holds the fuel high while the FX has the extra fuel under the seat held lower on the chassis. The FX also has a wide ration transmission with a lower 1st gear which is more usable in the tight stuff. I am looking forward to the 2024 YZ450FX when Yamaha applies all of the 2023 YZ450F updates

      @@mxengineer1 I was hoping the changes would have been done this Year, I was ready to purchase. I am waiting for the 2024. I have always had Yamaha and I like their quality.

      @@jetdr I am also a big fan of Yamaha. They have unique designs and their quality is tops. I really like the reverse head and centralized fuel tank design of the YZ250/450F's. Looking forward to riding the my '23 YZ450F Monster Edition which was originally suppose to arrive November, then December, and sadly latest ETA is March 2023. I do have a 2021 Yamaha MT09SP to ride while I wait...another very cool and innovative Yamaha product...a cool video from Yamaha on their manufacturing process for the MT09... th-cam.com/video/5Sf3UQitym4/w-d-xo.html

      @@mxengineer1 what are your thoughts on the yz250fx, for a 195lb guy on trail riding. mainly on single track in the Hills of PA, I am worried it won't have the beans to climb with my weight. I also do a lot of riding in Ga, at what used to be Durahmtown.

      @@jetdr I had a 2022 YZ250F Monster Edition. It is my favorite 250F engine/suspension package off the showroom floor (the [22 CRF250R is lighter and corners amazingly well but fork valving is off and chassis is globally firm). I could easily ride a 22 YZ250FX until the updated 24 YZ250F comes out (or that 24 YZ450FX). I have no problems with the moto 250F's in the woods though I like the 6-speed and kick stand and 18" rear wheel of the FX and also the o-ring chain. Rider skill plays the biggest role in climbing hills though extra power can make up for the rider ability!

    Ride Red!! The bigger fuel tank that you complained about is on there due to the RX is designed for 3 hour GNCC racing etc.

      The perimeter aluminum frame layout makes the adding fuel capacity challenging on the RX and results in the muffin top style fuel tank. The Redmoto larger capacity RX fuel tanks are less intrusive and a good option to improve the ergonomics of the RX.

    Honda imo owns the KTM’s just super reliable as always some nice tech and plenty of power everyone I know a guy with a KTM he had problems and had to bring it to the deals 3+ times when the bike was new

      You noticed that too? Lol. Btw, the stop watch method of keeping time needs to be thrown away, IF one is even bothering to mention times. Needs a proper timing system or don’t bring it up at all.

      Just rewatched. Doing a lot of kart racing, and observing lap times and data from our michron as well as watching our lines, etc from the GoPro, I’m a custom to watching small nuances regarding what is going on. The ability to watch these laps back to back a few times, I’d love to get some honest input as far as if the effort was equal on both bikes, to me it seems pretty obvious as to that answer. Btw, 5-6 seconds quicker on a sub 3 min lap is HUGE!!!

      I raced cars in IMSA for years and am familiar with detailed lap time analysis. These back to back runs are for fun (mostly!) and laps times are one way to compare bikes and evaluate which bike is most effective for me. I target putting the same effort forth on both bikes however the CRF450RX has some much more low to mid power and engine response - tougher to control in the woods plus the CRF450RX is taller and weighs about 15 lbs more than the 450FE both which combine to make the RX harder for me to ride quickly. For the the Honda is a harder bike to ride on this loop. Thanks for the feedback!

    What about crf450r power cuz the rx is less agressiv thn the R, the crf450r got to be dangerous

      Yes Honda says the CRF450RX base maps are less aggressive than the R model but the RX is still very powerful with quick response. It can be dialed back a little by running Traction Control (I think Honda refers to it as Torque Control). Would be nice if Honda included a slightly less aggressive throttle cam with the bike.

    Nice mate, but try again with map 3 or 1 map two is the smoothest and motorbike doesn’t feel like 450 power

      I wish KTM would put the 6-speed transmission into the 450XCF (and Husky FX450) and it comes with the kickstand!
