Another great video, Mary! Whenever I watch, I learn something new 😊 I also love how intellectual and intelligent these videos are: easy to understand without dumbing things down, and I walk away with a new outlook and appreciation for minimalism, art, and fashion. I fall into the camp of people who tends to dislike minimalism in art, modernism when it leans towards Brutalism, post-modernism, etc. But when you describe the visual inspiration and ideas behind it, I definitely like and appreciate the subject much more. I think the focus on form, quality of construction, and attention to detail is what draws me towards minimalist fashion. There is just no replacing fantastic design.

Makes me think of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Tonne Goodman and Fran Leobowvitz

yes to this day I envision the phrase with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy....decades after her death her look and wardrobe are just as relevant today as it was then, it transcends trend.

Hi Mary, Thank you for your work and research. I think MK and Ash Olsen The Row is a niche they have the talent of vision and creative minimalism that uses ART for their door. How to create your homes niche remind you of The Row. Genius level marrying their brand. I think Celine Phoebe Philo style stands alone a legend for the ages in Fashion.

Great video! The Row is just fabulous. I get your comment, re the minimalist fashion by friends and family. Isn’t it great to be different? I remember selling Geoffrey Beene clothing when I worked in high end retail during my a university days in the early 80’s. The fabrics and the cuts were amazing.

Your hard work and research that translates to knowledge that you then share in THE most eloquent way continues to astound me in the best way. I had no idea who Steve Barrie? was. Thank you for that! Thinking out loud so pardon me… I wonder if they (the Olsens) pay themselves a salary or if they just funnel their earnings back into the company? Or even a modest salary 😆

Thank you Mary for another insightful video. I love that you always compare in perspective. I enjoy seeing fashion in context of history or location or compared with other art/architectur/design. 🫶 Looking forward to your next video! Greetings from Europe!👋😊

I love the minimalism as an art movement so this was a great way to frame the Row and it’s aim to “decontextualize” its apparel. Brava

Excellent video, as usual. As a European, the fashion minimalism from America has struck me as having a parochial fear of being seen as 'less than'. Hence the need to out tailor, out couture, out style places like Paris. Of course being in close proximity to Europe, New York suffers from this more than L.A. I look forward to experiencing more authentic American fashion from designers outside the east coast.

Oh my goodness love this!!!!! I always joke that my brother is the Wendy to my Tonne because we love the sibling juxtaposition (opposite her complimentary styles) 🥹🙏🏼
I may have just uploaded a video for Friday going over the collection as well but as always you never fail to amaze me in your beautiful descriptions and reference points to our favorite brands 😍😍😍

If a business starts with all the money in the world, makes something people want in a very simple and streamlined way, and not get greedy, it's going to be fabulously successful.

Hello Mary I have been avid lover of The Row for the past 10 years but this season I have tried many coats and blazers and they are excessively oversized. I am a size M and all the coats and blazers that I have ordered were size S and are still too too big. I have returned all of the them. In my opinion, oversized clothes do not look polished even by The Row

I feel you, some of the prices are very high. But I appreciate how the Row can be a point of inspiration with styling and how they reference the past, so much of these items can be thrifted. Thank you so much for watching❤️

I like the style but it’s just too baggy. I want this style with clothes that fit.
