this was my comfort show for my whole childhood, I’m barely 18 but my mum raised me on the cartoons she watched. heathcliff and dogtanian are the ones that have always stuck with me :)
I have two mates who are 10 years younger than me ( I turned 28 this year ) and they grew up on both this and another CBBC show, SuperTed! 😊 Now SuperTed was a favourite of mine! Still holds up now
I found this series on TH-cam when I was 10, which really wasn’t very long ago given I’m only 17 now, but god I cried finding this again.. the world feels so much more uncertain compared to then, and I feel like people really have forgotten that last bit now :(

80s and early 90s kid's TV was so good. The broom cupboard, knightmare, all those Spanish cartoons (Willy Fogg, Dogtagnan, City of Gold), Teddy Ruxpin, Duck tales, Pinocchio, the Moomins...jeez I could go on. But it is so much better than my kids watch today.

My mum had kept all the vhs tapes from when I was a nipper and I played one for my 7yr old boy. He told me it was rubbish and walked out of the room.its a shame really as they are brought up around crap nowadays. Dogtanion was one of many awesome cartoons back in the day.

i used to live for this program lol im so pleased to have found every episode for sale on dvd sets lol gonna make my kids watch them, also found loads of other fantastic 80`s etc classics on dvd sets and singles. Fraggle rock, superted, loads and loads. Getting them all and gonna make sure i keep the legends living by making my kids grow up watching them all just like i did. About time they sampled real entertainment, ben 10 take a back seat man, let the real legends through!. Thanks for upload!

Such an amazing show for its time and the effort that must have been put into making this was incredible. Loved watching it after school and am thankful that it pointed me in the direction of now one of my favourite authors Alexandre Dumas. Does anyone else remember a film version of this that they showed on British TV at all? It was like the main arc of the first series edited into 90 mins. Still baffled as to why they switched Athos and Porthos around too
I think Dogtanian is fantastic! I remember it when it was on CBBC (Im 27 now) and I managed to get the DVDs of both series 1 and series 2 only about 1300 minutes of cartoonage to watch !! :-D
I watched Dogtanion and Batteries not included on repeat as soon as I woke up in a morning in the summer holiday and throughout the day, almost tipped my parents over the edge 😂 I'd pester and pester til they put it on and when it wasn't on I'd follow them around the house and garden asking why to every question I had for them

As an adult, I just can't understand how they didn't call this thing "Dogtanian and the three Musketerriers". I mean they're not even hounds either, they're clearly a springer spaniel, a German shepherd and a St Bernard.
