  • Today we are going to analyze the image of the Bhavacakra. It is said that it was created by the Buddha himself in order to better transmit his teachings and thus reach the whole world. And the truth is that there are many things here.
In the center we have the three poisons. They will make us do positive or negative things, making our existence evolve. It will produce in us a karma that will place us in one of the six realms, where we will experience different types of suffering. In the last layer, twelve links are represented, where we see that every cause has an effect, which leads you to reincarnate over and over again. And until we break one of those links we will not be able to free ourselves from this wheel. We also see here the god of death, Yama, to remind us of impermanence, that everything is transitory and everything, like this wheel, is constantly changing. But there is a way to break free from this wheel of life, and Buddha reminds us that it is possible.
We are going to analyze each part of this symbolic representation of samsara, of this cycle of birth, life, death and reincarnation.
Knowing all the parts that make up the Bhavacakra we will be able to know better how to behave, how to think, how to grow, and thus free ourselves from this wheel where we are born and are continuously born.
