For anyone wondering about the art: It appears it was drawn by a real person and upscaled using ai, which is why a real illustrator (Masumi Ishihara) is listed in the credits but it has a ton of distinctly ai artifacts. Also, she has 5 fingers, the weird looking thing up top is her ring finger.
That's an insane cope, AI upscaling doesn't generate same "artifacts" as AI generation, not to mention most people thought it was AI because of the hands lmao
Where did you even get the idea that this was AI upscaled? I upscaled the VGMDB cover with waifu2x and it looks nothing like this, most notably it didn't generate those white dots above the camera, it also fucked up the contours and text when denoising was enabled Actually what are the "artifacts" supposed to be? The colors are fucked and there is the white dot, but those just point to someone having a shit scanner, AI doesn't do that
@@Archimedes.5000 Hello there :) Didn't mean to offend you just putting my best guess out there for why the image looks funky By artifacts I meant little distortions and imperfections in the image that I saw often while using AI upscaling: the lineart is jagged or soft in some areas while being smooth and hard in others, certain small shapes seem to point in ways that a normal painter wouldnt usually point them The last time I really experimented with upscaling was back when SD first came out, so upscaling tech might have gotten better over time to eliminate some of these effects (especially since you indicated you used a model tailored for anime graphics) Also "artifacts" isn't official terminology I just borrowed it from the term "jpeg artifacts" because the visual impression it gave me is the same (and honestly now looking back on it, it might literally just be jpeg artifacts)
@@maokusI mean waifu2x has always been the one and only good AI upscaler/denoiser, and it's like 4 years older than SD is The thing is that AI upscaling is quite "bad" even today and can be easily noticed, to check I also upscaled the cover from the Soulseek rip (the one used here) and even without denoising the difference is huge (mostly on the camera).
