I don't think this relay set up is a diesel only set up. Likely the problem is exacerbated by Ford using a relay more suited to run a lower pressure gasoline fuel pump.
i have a dumb question about this code. i have one doint the same thine driving in town but on the highway it runs perfect. doesnt make any sence to me. great thanks for any help on this. ken
Sorry your having trouble. The only true way to check this is with a fuel gauge. Also you could tap into the power supply wire to the fuel pump and see if you lose power to the fuel pump while driving. If you get the code but don't lose power then most likely the pump. Message me on Instagram if you need more help. Thanks for watching
thanks for the reply. i think i found the problem tho. fuel pump relay melted inside the fuze block. think im going to try and bypass it with a new relay. let you know how it goes, thanks againg@@NutsandBoltswithTone
OMG The Chrysler TIPM's are so bad, those things cause all kinds of things to not work, fuel pump in one, horn in another. ac compressor. haha. Thank you for watching. Hey at least this fuse box doesn't require programming.
My truck has been sitting at work for going on two weeks now and I'm stumped. I have power at the fuel pump(I back probed it like you said and I can hear/feel it turn on), I also have about 5volts at the inertia switch and it seems to be getting wet from the rain currently(not sure if that can ruin the switch possibly?). I just replaced the FICM a few months ago so I know that's good. My scanguage comes back good. Ive gone from thinking it was the Fuel Pump to thinking its the HPOP and now I'm back thinking its the Fuel Pump or non-servicable Relay but if I understand you correctly, my fuel pump making noise should mean that the relay is okay right? Sorry for the speil.
First off thank you for watching. Bummer that you are having a problem. I saw your message on Instagram and I did respond on this matter and how to help you figure out what is going on with your truck.
You have to find pin 10 light blue/orange wire and with key on should have ground, So the top of the diagram I showed, shows that power comes into the relay on top left side from the power relay, and then you check that pin 10 at the bottom left, if you have ground then your relay should be sending power to the fuel pump, if you do not have ground then the fuel pump relay is not commanded on. I use a power probe and access the wire, or you could use a test light, hook one end up to the positive terminal on the battery and with key on if the test light lights up then you have ground. If you have any other questions hit me up on Instagram and I can help you. Thank you for watching.
I am new to the diesel thing and I have this code I have a clicking sound from the back of my fuse box I have a 2000 7.3 and it clicks but if I take the plug closes to the the upper left out it stops on the back of the box it does the clicking with the ignition on I have a crank no start my fuel bowl fills and I have no air in the lines and I have been stumped for weeks can this cause a no start with cranking it has brand new ipr cps ipc oil pressure switch every sensor just redone the motor completely and I had codes read and I would really like to figure this out I’m gonna try this tomorrow and hopefully it helps figure this out
Do you have any codes? Do you have the ability to read data from computer? like icp pressure while cranking. You need minimum of 500 psi of oil pressure while cranking. Hit me up on Instagram if you need anything else. It is easier for me that way.
Of course i would have the other problem, i have power at the inertia switch switch seems to work ok with ohm check but jumped the connector anyways still nothing to the pump.
I have a 2001 that code p0232 is pretty much stuck on I can clear code and cycle key and it comes right back on would the procedure for p0231 work for p0232
No you cannot use same test. I just did some research and all the posts I see for that code is a failed Fuel pump. I am not telling you to replace it just that is what I see as a common issue. If you message me on Instagram I can help you out. Thank you for watching.
I mean I am sure you could wire in a relay outside the box, but we cannot do that. I think it was probably under 500 bucks for the box. Not sure though. I don't see prices. It is crazy though. Thank you for watching.
That is strange but the clicking is just the relay turning on or off, If you have no power to the pump then the relay is most likely not working. Thank you for watching.
I am not sure what the part number is. It is best to call the dealer and make sure you get the proper one for your vehicle. If you have any questions you can message me on Instagram. Thanks for watching.
Things like this shy me away from working on Diesels. I would have been there for days trying to figure this out. Well done!!
Yeah these things sometimes make us go crazy. Hoping people see the video before going around in circles. Thanks for watching.

Thank you, Learned something today
My pleasure. I am happy to help out. Thank you for watching.
Awesome video brotha! Storing this in the memory bank for later. 👍👍
Thank you. Yes keep this one locked away. Thank you for watching.

Awesome video tone !!! Very informative
Thank you I appreciate that. I appreciate you watching.
That reminds me of TIPMs on Chrysler products.

What do you mean by having ground at the relay at the 8:54 mark in the video? How do you test for that? Thanks

He said fuel conditioning module.. I imagine he's talking about the FICM. Fuel injection control module.
Fuel conditioning module is the fuel pump on the frame. Thanks for watching

Relay in the fuse box?
Surely someone has a work around for this.
How much for a fuse box?
I mean I am sure you could wire in a relay outside the box, but we cannot do that. I think it was probably under 500 bucks for the box. Not sure though. I don't see prices. It is crazy though. Thank you for watching.
Esa respuesta esperaba. Le voy a poner un relay por fuera
So if u have power on the fuse the relay is bad??
Not necessarily. you have to go through the troubleshooting. Message me on my Instagram if you need more help. Thanks for watching.
Whats ur instagram
So when my 6.0 stalls the green and yellow wire loses power. But I don't here the relay click until a few minutes after. Isn't that strange?
That is strange but the clicking is just the relay turning on or off, If you have no power to the pump then the relay is most likely not working.

where i can i order the fuse box?
We got it new from our local Ford dealer. Thank you for watching.
whats the part number
I am not sure what the part number is. It is best to call the dealer and make sure you get the proper one for your vehicle. If you have any questions you can message me on Instagram. Thanks for watching.
Too much chatting
