  • In this video you will see a missing butterfly valve from an intake plenum on a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder. This is Part 1 of the engine teardown. Stay tuned to see what havoc wreaked due to Nissans negligence.
Heres a forum that explains the issue in detail:

    My current engine codes are:
    Knock sensor B1 + evap
Bought this vehicle from Elite Autos in North Carolina. Don’t buy from them they are shady.

Thanks, good video. You have convinced me to pull my 2003 Pathy apart to lock thoose down. Looks like a fun poject and good to get em before they fail.

Yes, i would advise locktight on those tiny screws. Or weld them just to be sure🫣 such a small thing can end an engine within seconds!

UPDATE: The Engine VQ35DE 3.5L is a very difficult engine to make internal repairs on. In order to take the heads off you must remove the timing cover, and to remove the timing cover you must remove the 3 bolts under the timing cover holding it in place, and to get to those 3 bolts you must remove the UPPER oil pan because the 3 bolts are inside the upper oil pan area, and to remove that you must remove the front differential and take the engine mount bolts out and lift the engine to clear the differential, and to remove the mounts you must remove the exhaust manifolds, and to remove those you must remove catalytic converters and exhaust. Long story short, it is very difficult so I sent this abused Pathy to the grave.
