A group of fans were discussing whether they would prefer to ship Leon with Claire Redfield or Leon with Ada Wong. At one point, supposedly, one of the guys made a parody post, where Chris Redfield comes out to declare his support of the former ship, claiming that the Redfield lineage must be continued. Since then, it snowballed into all of these memes across the internet.

This trailer does show one of the unique aspects of the storyline in that the RE world is a place where zombie outbreaks are a known issue but the world hasn't ended, they're like tsunamis or hurricanes.

It looked like something out of a Devil May Cry game and not RE at all. Might as well they could make a DMC universe CGI movie then slapping RE characters and name onto it. Complete mess. No wonder why it is trashed and parodied to death.
