      @@georgios_georgiou - with lens hood? Haven't gotten any with mine. But what has happened, is that my 30mm lens hood has gotten loose and can fall off when hanging. Need to fix that. But yeah, not sure why he didnt use hood. Dont think any lens should cope with sun on such angle straight onto glass.

    • @georgios_georgiou

      @@gelisob gelisob well the thing is he wasn't shooting into the sun so maybe it's a lens defect. I don't use the hood at all and have no issues with the 30 mm but this rainbow thing and at that price point i don't like it one bit. Sure a hood can fix that i suppose but i want to be able to use my Variable ND and the hood is in the way...

    I'd love to see how this lens performs for car photography/ video. Since at 56mm you'd have to stand pretty far back to get the whole car in the shot. I wonder how the background blur would look.

    Keep in mind that your not getting the f1.4 you thought your getting, because you also have to multiply the aperture. So f1.4 x 1.5 (crop factor) will be f2.1 in equivalent in crop factor. So the Sigma DC lineup would be in f2.1 equivalent.

    • @abhishekmaitra96
      @abhishekmaitra96 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This crop factor applies to the depth of field but not on the effect F-stop. For example Crop factor 56mm 1.4 produces depth of field/background blur which is equivalent to a 56mm 2.1 full frame lens but the exposure settings will be same as 56mm 1.4 full frame. So the 1.4 in terms of background blur is different but the 1.4 in terms of passing light will be the same for the area of sensor exposed. If we talk about the field of view then it will be about 85mm 1.4 in (for exposure) and 85mm 2.1 (for depth of field) full frame equivalent. So things are really complicated here, while applying 1.5x crop factor the focal length , depth of fiend , f-stop and field of view , all these four factors of a lens is going to compensate each other so you can never achieve the same exact picture.

    Sigma 16mm f1.4, Sony 35mm 1.8, and will add the Sigma 56mm F1.4 to my rig. Problem is the 16mm is too big to casually carry so hopefully the 56mm is small like the Canon 50mm f1.4/1.8 Great Quick Review Sid

      @@joselara4392 Well at first, i got excited about adapting lenses so i went purchased some manual lenses. m42 Helios, Jupiter. Thought it was neat and very inexpensive. Then got tired of all that and wanted to get back to auto focus so my first official good lens is the sigma 30 1.4. I also use samyang 12mm which i use a lot for weddings and real estate. Then i still use my 135 jupiter. I'm looking at the sigma 56mm 1.4 next. I also completely forgot about the a6400. just now been doing some research. I think I want to run with that. @@SidneyDiongzon so if I had to pick one of them which would be the better one?(for cinematic videos and epic pictures.. i also heard that the 16mm makes a bit of noises) Btw thx for the fast help(I ordered the 16mm and it comes after a few days but now i struggle deciding so.. I would pay the a bit of money more just for the 56mm) idk if I should buy tbe 16mm or not(gosh its so hard to decide)

    Let me comment before watching, I really think this lens is for A6500, I have the A6300 and the F1.4 16mm sigma and the lack of stability doesn't help. let me continue watching

      Fam Visser dude that’s not always the solution. Try using a tripod when you need to shoot hand held vertical portrait shots in photography

      Lover Of Tech Come on...you can make that shots easily with this great lens. Just don’t shake/move to much. You really don’t need a 6500 to get beautiful portraits with this lens.

    • @SidneyDiongzon

    I know ive asked you 100 times but i was going to buy the 16mm 1.4 but this one looks awesome. You still think i should go for the 16mm? my main reason are vlogs/travel videos, but those pics with the 56mm are 🔥. You think i can achieve something like that with the 16mm?

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For vlogging and travel, the 16mm is definitely the lens to go with! And yeah, you can still create some pretty awesome photos with that lens too! The 56mm is particularly good at compressing the background into a creamy image!

      I’d strongly recommend the 16 if you have the a6500 with a stabilized sensor. From my personal experience with the 16 and a6300 - it’s too shaky for vlogging. I use a 12 2.8 instead and LOVE IT! gives you an amazing focal length for travel shots, similar to the 16-35 L series on a FF!

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just tried it. Although it can use FF mode, you’ll see extreme vignetting due to the barrel of the lens. That’s why the A7III will automatically go into crop mode with an APS-C lens.

    I already own the Sony E 50mm OSS, and my biggest issue with it is the slight softness when I compare it to my Sigma 30mm, so I was genuinely curious if that was just me or that the Sigma was a bit sharper, seems like I was right but I might trade it in for the Sigma 56mm now after watching this.
