I have a new founded respect for her. Towards the end of the webtoon, I know a lot of us felt this way, the story sort of derailed and didn’t feel consistent. It felt rushed but dragged out compared to the first half of the webtoon which generally had more thought put into it. I began to think Yaongi was milking her content, but she was changing it up to follow trends and satisfy various audiences as well as express her own interests within the webtoon. I always felt, and I still do feel, that it’d be nice for her to break down some of these into separate stories rather than compact it all into True Beauty. That said, I think she is an honest and good hearted person as well as a hard worker. I really do appreciate her honesty in saying she has had work done, because let’s face it, most Koreans do get work done, AND plastic surgery around the world is becoming so common that we shouldn’t try to pretend it’s natural. Her personality shines bright and I respect who she is as a person.
Same, I like her ambition and hardworking nature, but as a writer, she could have done so much amazing stuff with the story, but it felt really shallow and had nothing to say. It's the definition of missed potential. A story about beauty standards and how they hurt people, and how society needs to let go of them, and how beauty is really subjective...that could have been an amazing story, with a message society REALLY needs right now. Instead we got validation of the status quo, which in this case, does more harm than good considering the popularity of the webtoon.
It make sense that she dragged it out since most webtoon/manga artists will have one or maybe two big hits in their lives. Since she's a single mother, she'd want to make sure she gets as much as she can for the story since never know when the next meal ticket will come in. That being said, I think she herself fell to the pressures of society. She's very thin and looks a lot like my cousins in Korea, one is bulimic and one is pretty much anorexic but no one in my family talks about it (I'm not saying she is but neither can I say that is she is not - though it's easy to tell she is very much underweight, her physical appearance prescribes to the beauty standards of society). She could have used this opportunity to make a stronger statement about the hold beauty has on society (Korea specifically and the world in general) but perhaps money became a more pressing matter (which again, i don't fault her for, it's hard to succeed in a country like Korea where only the rich and the very smart get opportunities).

Well she has done obvious work. I have never seen her before photos, but her ears is so saggy. She had v-line surgery to the extreme that her skin got saggy and strange. She would have been pretty if she did not do that extreme surgery. But her body, her choice. If she wants to have saggy skin it is her choice.
Also, they didn't exactly say it directly. The woman who started the conversation said "I heard you received unexpected misunderstandings." From then, the author started to talk about her surgery and she didn't seem uncomfortable. On a side note, I'm Korean and it's extremely normal to talk about surgeries/other beauty cosmetics and things in Korea, and 99 percent of the time, they aren't rude about it, just curious.
