When I was kid I saw Dell Curry play many times and I always said to myself "man if this guy had handles he would be an all-time great." The proof is the evolution of Steph Curry's all around game and dominance in the NBA today.
John Westendorf To be fair players back in the day barely shoots 3's. In the 80's Bird only took 2-3 3points shot a game. 90's only have Reggie and 2000's only got Ray Allen. It's only been recent that a team would average 20+ 3point shot attempts per game.
Edmon Lacsa I'm not saying he didn't. All I'm saying is being 7th all time in 3 points made is not that impressive when you only have 2 other players to compete with. Let's put it this way, that's his least impressive stat.
Erm its called dipping the ball when you catch and shoot ? All modern shooters does that. Only outdated shooting coach tell you dont dip and they never produce any good shooter.
Curry has one of the most consistently mechanically correct shots ever. His dribbling is subperb giving himself open shots. He stops his momentum well and gathers his body together for a wonserful looking and accurate jumper. Amazing in that he is shorter than his father I think. Only someone that has ever played can appreciate the work this kid must have put in to get that jumper to a pro level.
Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time that's why went from high school Couldn't Shoot 3-pointers correctly his dad is one of the greatest legendary Shooters and look at stuff now two-time or 3 time NBA champion I am a Warriors fan
um? no he literally paused it with the kid pulling up from his gut and you can see in all the first clips that's how he shot he brought it down to his waist and brought it up the shot started at his waist
I love his game. I wish he had tried to regroup , focus , and become clutch to beat the King. (Not just accumulate talent) I also wish we had a healthy 2015 FINALS.
I’m mad. Curry was 5’6 as a sophomore as a sophomore I was 5’11. I’m 6 months older than steph. Today Steph is 6’3 and I’m 6’0. Wtf happened??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
SHOOTA #IWILLSLAPEVERYOTHERBROADCASTINGPLATFORM possibly. My big spurt was from 13 to 14. 13 I was 5’3 on my 14th birthday I was 5’8 and a half. By 15 I was that 5’11 by 18 I was 6’0 and that was it. My dad is 6’3 my mom 5’2
He didn’t shoot from his waist... he loaded from his waist, which he still does. He has a one motion shot though which makes up from lost time. The reason for doing that is so you can build more energy through the ball and shoot it farther, but if you watch he’s still releasing above the head even in high school.
dreicqb I am 5'5 and I am 15 years old. I still shoot from my waist but am working on shooting from over my head. I am also working out my arms to be able to be strong enough to shoot from over my head.
He still went to a decent school Davidson, was one of the best shooter and scores in college always talked about and on ESPN way before proball, he broke or came close to records in college almost 30 a game 28 about half 3pt precentage like 45, play top teams used to play duke every other year, was always on highlights, took Davidson to the ncaa tournament, great offensively and had tv numbers reason he was drafted and drafted high top 10 8th i think, plus dell curry legend and great shooter, it was all meant to happen his freshmen year, eveyone knew this would happen unbelievable skill to shoot
People don't give Curry enough credit for developing his body throughout his career. Surprisingly, I read somewhere that he deadlifts as much as anyone on the GSW team. He has core strength. He may not be built like Westbrook or Damian Lillard but the guy has put on a lot of muscle compared to how he looked in high school. Honestly after watching a few clips at the start of he video, I could immediately see why people had doubts about his size and frame. He didn't look like he would put much muscle on(unless he just never lifted weights until like college).
He thumbs the ball and it's only because of his release that he has to thumb it. He still releases low. But changed the mfing game by being quick and accurate and confident af to where it doesn't matter where you release it as long as it's quick. Impossible to block someone coming halfway through a screen and throwing it up or 35feet out. Steph's the man. Most exciting player and team since the 90s bulls quite honestly
Steph is #1 of all time period, just look at the facts. Most 3's made in a game Most 3's made in a season Most 3's made ever Most 3's made in play of series Most 3's made in finals
He still dips the ball. It gives him that power to do all those long range 3's. Most great shooters dip the ball and had a hella quick release. Steph and Ray Allen for example. It just doesn't look like it because they practiced it so much it got easier and quicker to do.
I shot like curry but now I’m MVP and I play on the top against difficult teams outer state so there’s hope for all you ballers keep it on don’t let the haters bring you down.
Ideas for next story? Best idea will get a shoutout in the next story!

Erm its called dipping the ball when you catch and shoot ? All modern shooters does that. Only outdated shooting coach tell you dont dip and they never produce any good shooter.
GilxSullinger he was just saying that curry had to push the ball to shoot unlike other players who just do flick of their wrist
up still now he still partially pushing the ball ?lonzo ball is the perfect definition of flicking the ball out .
GilxSullinger and Alonzo can't shoot so whats your poibt?
playboi Dav he’s saying that pushing the ball is fine sometimes

how couldnt he shoot at 5'6?

Of course he is the best shooter
Krish Chander no he’s not, trust me. He’s not

Thanks for the vid, learned something.

curry is absolutely the best shooter ever. Nobody back then wasted as much energy on kid games like we do today
Had a weird form but they were still dropping, and now they continue dropping with a perfect form. Best NBA player right now imo..
Inspires me a lot. Thank you 💓

@QUEEN FOXYLADI1 I’m still the same height lol. I’m a junior in college and really don’t care anymore

" He would cry some nights "
so he was a sophomore and was 5'8" when im a fifth grader and i'm 5'2"?
How tall r u now
This kid has a bright future..im sure he will make it to the nba one day. With hard work anything is possible.

curry is the goat of point guards because of his story!
He still dips the ball. It gives him that power to do all those long range 3's. Most great shooters dip the ball and had a hella quick release. Steph and Ray Allen for example. It just doesn't look like it because they practiced it so much it got easier and quicker to do.
Good video, I knew his shot was broken and his dad helped him but didn't know about the college's not picking him up
Wish I have parents who support my hoop dream

good stuff!

Curry got to the nba through extremely hard work
Stephen Curry broke his own three point record by around 200 threes in a season...how is he not the best shooter that ever lived
That is not surprising he allways worked for the shot he wanted for the future but it was risky but he did it
