    Singing songs begging for compassion for the marginalized will never come without controversy. Then again, the life of Jesus was full of that very thing. Thank you for this song. Thank you for this movement.

    This song touched my heart so much. We heard it in our white suburban church yesterday. I wish every Christian in America could hear the sermon we heard! I am so sorry. I am whiter than white, but Black lives matter to me.

    I’m a worship leader from the UK and I confess we simply don’t know how to process pain in the context of worship. Thank you for being leaders in this area. Time to get so much braver with song choices.

    I think of this song nearly every day these days. Perfectly poignant, captures the heart of black lives matter. It's a call to reckoning and repentance. Lord, bring us to our knees. Thank you for this beautiful and persuasive work of art. A tremendous gift to the Church. May more eyes be opened to look at all the Roses.

    I just cant begin to express to the writer of this psalm it humbles and reminds me TMH word is true. I weep at the state they have placed us in. And the oppression is bolder all I can do is cry out to our father with a trembling soul for him to redeem his people oh father god of Israel hear us again.

      @amandagootjes222 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Somebody told me that if only, if only you would better decide, you would still be alive." I think it means that some people believe if people who have been killed by police would have made better choices then they wouldn't have been killed. The writer is saying he's been told this. Not that this is how he feels. People who say this are blaming the victims of police brutality for their own deaths. It's, unfortunately, a common and ignorant argument.
