    How on Earth can Lenovo justify charging an additional $1400 just for the touch version of a display!? It's absolutely crazy! Who do they think they are, Apple?

    The perfect windows laptop would be a ThinkPad x1 extreme with a Dell XPS 15 screen

      @@dev.lockridge my guess would be about Aug-Nov the reason why I say this is due to the launch tiger lake H processor may speed up the release of the gen 4.

    Would you change your mind about the Thinkpad X1 with all the May deals going on now on Lenovo's website?

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the deals for Lenovo X1 Extremes are much cheaper than the Dell XPS 15 I would look into them I continue to creating the rest of the comparison different sections in case the situation does occur in the future =) so you have a little bit of information.

      Yes looking to buy a X1 or P1 Gen 4 if the hdmi is connected via the integrated graphics instead of only the GPU.

  • @LaurenceLiew
    @LaurenceLiew 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is the Lenovo X1 xtreme HDMI output still connected to the GPU only? One of the reason I got rid of my Gen1 was because I could not complete a 3 hours presentation on my laptop on battery only as the GPU was used via the HDMI. Battery drain was too high. It would be good if the intel igpu can be selected instead.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will check for you Laurence, as the laptop no longer with me but I can ask. From my memory I know the graphics will switch between the Intel to the Nvidia depending on the work load but for HDMI output is a great question as when I had this laptop I had it connected to a dock outputting to the 34" monitor and it was using the dGPU.

      yea that's the case. HDMI output is connected to gpu, pretty shit design

    Here is a good comparison
    th-cam.com/video/z7BJI-tget8/w-d-xo.html
    The Dell XPS 15 performed better because it initially had 1x16GB RAM. However, when the reviewer replaced it by 2*16GB RAM, the lenovo X1 extreme outperformed the XPS 15.
    Nonetheless, I agree with BsianDad about the price tag. There is a huge difference between the two in terms of pricing. So, unless there is a great deal on Lenovo X1 extreme (like the ones currently running on the website), I suggest to go with XPS 15.

      Sorry, the lenovo initially had 1*16 GB!
