It just has the cold and heat blocking features you explained. I am excited and feel a lot better about the major dent it put in my wallet now lol.

I found your video by searching Andersen patio doors as I am having my patio door replaced and wanted to see other people's opinion/experience. I am getting the exact same door you have - model, color, options. Renewal by Andersen is expensive but what sold me is when I add up the costs to buy the door at retail, then hire a contractor to install it, then figure out how to dispose of the old door, the price is just about the same for complete service and WARRANTY by RbA, but the BIGGEST benefit is that the door at retail is a stock size which requires a master carpenter to ensure it's installed correctly, but the RbA door is custom made to fit the existing opening which ensures a better fit and operation of the door. Not all patio doors are comparable, the Andersen doors with Fibrex guarantees no warping, etc., and the roller system they use is self-healing for decades of functional operation. I can barely open my 30+ year door as the rollers (nylon) are worn and not functioning properly. I can't wait for the new door to be installed, they said it will be in about 2 months, so they must be busy.

We have the same door. Little older but same setup. We don’t have an awning so when it rains, all the water comes in and goes down to the wooden frame. I wonder if Anderson sells sliding glass doors.
The door in the video is a sliding patio door . The roof over our deck protects it from a lot of the weather. It's the permasheild 200 series. Thanks for watching.
Do you have a loosening door handle? Less than 1 year with Renewal Anderson slider and the handle progressively loosened until yesterday, it fell off back and front. 😢

What did it cost to have this door put in and how much was the door itself? I’m looking for the same door. Like you I also need the wood on the bottom replaced. I just got an offer in the mail for $799.00 off the regular price. Not sure what to expect when I call.

You got taken advantage of. I was just quoted 140k for 20 windows and 4 doors from this company. These people are out of their F ing minds! I'm so sorry they bent you over and then convinced you it was worth the money. Then you turned around and made a video of you being taken advantage of. Looks really nice but I'm afraid it's very costly much much too expensive... you got a quality door and a quality installation but you did not get a great deal with the price I need two of them and I can't see spending $13,000, no that will never happen

I'll never trust or recommend Renewal by Anderson. They came to my mothers home to replace a door and frame. The guy quoted her at$7,000 which is outrageous for a freaking door replacement. What were they going to replace the door with, a door for a bank vault? For $7,000 she could've had all 4 doors and multiple windows replaced in the home. I told her right away to cancel the order. When a salesman for a company drives up to your home in a $70,000 BMW, you know a company is charging too much for simple jobs.
The doors are expensive for sure ! But we trust their installation and warranty. We could of done it cheaper but you never know what the other companies are on stuff. Thanks for your comments and watching.

Lol. No my butt isn't sore. Yes it was a lol of money. Could of saved by just buying the door and have someone else install it. But Andersen backs the warranty and they did an awesome job installing. You get what you pay for. The door has been awesome.
We knew it wasn't going to be a low cost job for us. Even with the discount it was pricey! But we feel it was a very good quality door and installed the right way. Sorry it didn't work out for you. We really like our door.

So when raising the blind how is the seal maintained ?
The blinds are sealed between the glass . We really like this patio door.
I wouldn't pay more than $3500 total.
These people are insane charging $6K for this.

Renewal by Andersen is a bunch of rip offs I kicked the guy out of my house in 14 minutes he tried to charge me $14,500 for an exterior French door
