Hi Pauline - you can if you want but the instructions said to put into one half and close the lid. I suppose the closed lid stops it spitting over your microwave. :)

Hi, nice video. The Lukue one I own says to flip the whole thing after 2 min anw cook for another min (for 2 eggs & veggies).

Why use this when you can easily pour those eggs into a skillet on the stove?
