I love that youre showing the little details that are such a PITA to do like getting the axles positioned correctly and the pinion angles all dialed in. Most just skip over this and I like seeing someone else think it through and explain their plan. Also I dont feel so dumb when I sit and stare at my projects for 15-20 minutes trying to think through stuff - good to know even the pros have to take time and slow down and think through things!
By the way Janelle (sorry if I butchered the spelling) is really getting mounting those tires down!😁 I love how she’s up to help you do whatever needs to be done and she’s willing to learn. Which to learn on camera where a bunch of keyboard warriors who don’t turn wrenches are gonna judge everything would be nerve wracking and a lot of women just wouldn’t do it. Lot of men too! But she just jumps in and learns. Ya found a keeper that’s for sure. Wish you guys the best luck! Hope you have a lot of fun!!
Im a huge @mattsoffroad and trailmater fan. I was skeptical in the beginning of this channel but im digging it and definitely paying attention. Rudy is a pretty well rounded mechanic and fabricator.
I've spent 10 years and countless amounts of greenbacks building my xj so I feel you Rudy.. The progress you've made so far is insane, looking forward to seeing this out & about !
The first video for this build had so many haters, it was sad. Glad to start seeing positive comments again. This is a cool idea for the build and you are killing it!
That jeep looks just like mine! I wasted a ton of money on Rubicon express lift kit and some other parts to get version one done and on the road ..... should have went a full on kit from Barnes, it's in the shop for the second time trying to fix death wobble the first shop charged me 1800 and gave up and said no warranty on custom stuff, death wobble on the way home. Now it's at a big shop here in El Paso, 4wheel center..... they are working on it right now. I can't wait to have my baby back. I put a 4.7l stroker engine in it after the piston broke into pieces one morning on the old 4.0l. Good stuff Rudy. Making me miss my jeep more lol
I remember when you left MORR, I was bummed. But, you have gone and made a channel I like even more. Keep up the good work, bro. You and Janelle are both doing a great job. Hold on to that one, she is a keeper.
Rudy, you are one lucky man. You have the perfect woman, not just a very pretty face but someone who is supportive in your adventure's, can cook and not afraid to get her hands dirty. I would have given anything to have found someone like Janelle in my younger years! Best of luck on the rest of this adventure at KOH to you and the rest of the crew!
What a place to work, 😂 then fireworks what else do you need, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, Wishing yous a Healthy and Prosperous New Year
The jeep is looking good so far. Do you have a space where a countdown timer can hang in the tent as a reminder that race day is rolling 'round the corner!
that jaz jeepspeed cell is supposed to go through the floor in the rear, that and a full size spare will be plenty of weight for the springs to level out
I hope you guys are thinking about track bars. That’s usually what limits most 4600 XJs with uptravel. I ran into that situation with my Comanche and ended up monster trucking it because we didn’t have time to do anything else.
Yeah it’s a pain on a 4600 solid axle when you can’t cut stuff out of the way like you usually would. and they cause the most damage when they’re not set up right, it’ll rip right through those stiffeners and unibody. Been there done that many times. lol. We did it right with the Comanche, the only real failure point we had with the chassis was the bumpstop towers kept caving in, we built an engine cage that finally stopped that mess for the most part. I hope you guys have a lot more people on the way to help because i see way more than 15ish days of work left lol
Let me know if you ever want someone who knows what their doing with composites as far as building unique body and structural elements. I have actually rebuilt an entire car out of carbon fiber and Kevlar hybrid components. That included the inner and outer door features as well as the entire chassis and frame. You guys are actually pretty awesome and I'd be super happy to join your team.
Watch Rudy install $30,000 worth of parts on a $1,500 Cherokee and turn it into a $5,000 Race Cherokee! lol This is the off road racer math we all know and love! Keep up the solid work guys and thank you so much for taking us along with you so we can live vicariously through your kickass videos man!
When you're living in the lake bed and the only thing to do is work on it. Driving in, getting lunch, you're cutting out all of the distraction working out there. That's why you're so far
Y’all can’t bring on that dinner and not share a recipe! Come on lol. Love the xjs had a 93 as my first years ago. That was early 2005-06 when they weren’t so popular off-road yet
I'm surprised after all the XJs you've had and worked on, that you would even need to measure 😅 Weren't you Conceived and Born in a XJ? 😅 A couple more years, you'll be able to build a XJ in your sleep! 😅 Rudy the XJ Master!
Lookin good Rudy! Hope you guys have a great time. But I was curious what kind of meat did your wife use for that stew? I never heard of fireman’s stew before. The recipe i just quickly looked up said ground beef but it looked like you guys used something else. I couldn’t tell with how fast of a view ya guys showed.
Are you guys running the welders and tools off 120v? I’d be curious to see what’s required to be able to run a useful amount of tools out in the desert
From an old man married for over 50 years. Any woman who can mount tires and cook you a good meal is a KEEPER. Don’t let that woman get away.😊
It’s coming along
makes me wanna try, except not in the middle of nowhere. love the vids matt and rudy
You dudes are incredibly lucky to have Ms. Janelle and Mr. Higgins to keep you on the straight and narrow.
This is a fun series to watch
I stopped in and introduced myself last Sunday. Thank you for taking a minute to say hi 👊

Thank you and your crew for this video drop! Always makes the day a bit better.
That concept art of the finished jeep is dope af!! The decal design is really RAD!!! 💪🏽🔥🏁🇺🇸👍🏽
Man, i'm really liking this series.
She has tire changing down pat. Cant wait to see the race. Such a great channel and team to watch
I'm really enjoying the "OFF GRID" build. Looks like your having fun.
It's just an awesome idea that you took the work outside of the shop ...keep on keepin on...
Looks like you're doing a great job!! I'm going to love watching you in the race!!!
Rudy is a Boss! Yet still remains humble. That's what makes him great!

Watching Janelle mount that tire was the highlight of my week thus far. ❤
I appreciate the OSHA double containment on the slow cooker, Thanks
The wind block was a great idea to retain heat.
Great video Rudy, coming along nicely! Awesome job JaNelle but we need the recipe!!! 🔥🔥👌👌👍👍♥♥
Im a huge @mattsoffroad and trailmater fan. I was skeptical in the beginning of this channel but im digging it and definitely paying attention. Rudy is a pretty well rounded mechanic and fabricator.
Its amazing how fast things move along when you rush things
I’m enjoying the build and the influx of videos! All three of you are killing it!
This is my favorite build series on TH-cam right now, good stuff!
I think this is one of the best builds you've done, love all the information and details !!!!
Hey Rudy. At least you won’t be late this time. Your already there!!!
There is method to the madness. 🙃
I've spent 10 years and countless amounts of greenbacks building my xj so I feel you Rudy.. The progress you've made so far is insane, looking forward to seeing this out & about !
Janelle mounting the tires! Very impressive!
Janelle on tire duty, go Janelle!
Great to see you and the gang stop by Sunday with the 4Runner I’m still jealous of those awesome front and rear ends. Stay warm lol
Hey I love what you guys are doing with the build. Just keep a spare heim joint and hardware for that driver side lower. Keep her going!
Keep up the good work guys. We really enjoy this remote location, build, and all the work you guys put into the channel.

Great show.
Janelle reminded me of the old shcool TV show trucks. The fast pacing was easy to follow. Keep it up
Great video and great project, greetings, it was a pleasure meeting you last Sunday, good luck and see you at King of the Hammers.

Ya she's awesome 🔥🔥🔥
Not womEn, womAn is the word you’re looking for. There IS a difference.
@@gungadingo it's corrected, my point was still made!
A little creepy that being said lol but as long as you're both happy that's what counts jeep looks sick
Coming along nicely Rudy and Zach
Great video. Good explanations and work was done
What a place to work, 😂 then fireworks what else do you need, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, Wishing yous a Healthy and Prosperous New Year
Sweet , the Geep is moving right along and starting to look awesome. Get er done ✅
stay on it keep doing what your doing ! see you soon ,
I’m really enjoying the format of this particular series. Thank you very much for everything you’re doing.
So awesome you're out doing this... I dream of racing out there in the 4600 class in an XJ...💪
Best of luck out there...👌
Keep your videos coming, I love how you explain the geometry of 4link.... 🤘❤
It would be neat to see the lower link mount and the shock mount tied together on the same axis vertically instead of side by side.
The jeep is looking good so far. Do you have a space where a countdown timer can hang in the tent as a reminder that race day is rolling 'round the corner!
I don’t mind the boring details! Those brackets turned out great I’d love to see a quick edit on how they are made. Love the series ciaoo
that jaz jeepspeed cell is supposed to go through the floor in the rear, that and a full size spare will be plenty of weight for the springs to level out
It is good to see you work and find solutions
The wheels look great and while bead locks have a lot of screws they make tire changes easy.
This is an awesome build. I love channels like this. I'm kind of new to offroading, and this gives me awesome ideas. Hat's off to RUDY and team.
I hope you guys are thinking about track bars. That’s usually what limits most 4600 XJs with uptravel. I ran into that situation with my Comanche and ended up monster trucking it because we didn’t have time to do anything else.
Definitely trying to keep that in mind. Track bars get on my nerves lol

Rudy you're doing just great and the teamwork is just perfect. Yay!

I'm enjoying this series Rudy. Great effort to you all.
Good job people. Can't wait to see the race.
You guys are doing a great I love the way you are doing the filming.
The more angle you have on the shock, the more travel you get from your axle before limiting out.
This is a fantastic series Rudy! Well worth the effort your putting in !
She's Rooking good guys !
Good job guys!
Is it not going to great stress or binding mounting the joint there? Doesn’t it need to rotate a little?
Hey Man , I am very Proud to be able to watch your Adventures .
Rudy is a mini Matt 100%
LOOKS GOOD!
Very interesting 🤔 guys 😉 thanks for sharing 😊.

Looking great
What lift are you using I would love to have one like that, I can’t fit a regular car lift in my garage
MR6 midrise portable lift from Challenger Lifts
It’s great to see the progress. Can’t wait to see it perform! Its looks like it will do well from what i see. But im just a mecanick🤷♂️😂
We need another Zach recap!

Great times!
Gecko snake & tortoise stew!
Project looking good!
Great job again.
Wait !
I thought it was Zach's new job to do the "previously on Rudy's Adventure and Design" intros using his announcer's voice ?!?
You guys are awesome but when your girl mounted a tire, respect level 10
Can you use a sledge hammer for more wheel well clearance?
More Higgins!
Rudy I have to say you remind me of your dad but very cool video can't wait to see more
Thanks for the great video.
Nice job guy's 👏 👍 👌 😀
The "W" word is real. Good luck.
Y’all can’t bring on that dinner and not share a recipe! Come on lol.
Love the xjs had a 93 as my first years ago. That was early 2005-06 when they weren’t so popular off-road yet
I may be wrong but I think most people mount those Deaver springs under the axle.
Put some blocks between the vehicle and lift and you can see where the full droop is
I think those Deavers will be inverted after the race. They de-arch in the whoops.
I'm surprised after all the XJs you've had and worked on, that you would even need to measure 😅 Weren't you Conceived and Born in a XJ? 😅 A couple more years, you'll be able to build a XJ in your sleep! 😅 Rudy the XJ Master!
#1 Awesome experience!
Great video and such a cool build! Stock class is the best class!
What model Challenger Lift is that?
MR6 midrise portable lift from Challenger Lifts

240v off the generator
super RAD⚡️
Whata entertaining video keep it going
Rudy, whats your opinion of that Vulcan welder?
Details Matter! Please bore me with them! I need the details to learn and is a BIG part of why I'm here!
Are you allowed to cut the wheel arches out or do they have to be stock?
It is called planning ahead. But nobody does that till it's too late.
you always get to start over.
