Thanks for the great tutorial! I am going to try this, for sure. If mine comes out half as nice as yours, maybe one day we could swap. Owning one of your journals would be wonderful! Thanks again.
Unless you have the big bite it won't reach. Also the smallest hole it punches is a bit too big for the finer twine which is really what you want to use so you don't bulk up the middle
Love your creativity ! Using the graph paper pure genius, just a thought after holes are poked in template you could use pencil to mark holes, then poke without having to keep the template lines up.
Just discovered your channel :D Love the idea of using the maths paper for squaring up the spacing, have you got a video covering the signature like the one @ 8:38 ??
delygirl1961 If you go to 8 min 38 sec you have a collection of papers (signature) Your going to pierce for the journal, it's that set of papers, I was interested in your decorating method :)
Oh, no for the actual decorating I don't have a video. When I get another book going I can look at maybe putting a video up on my process for a few pages. I'm still on holidays, so it will be awhile
Ok as I continue to watch I see you marked holes and then removed paper to poke holes through deco thick pages. How about a nail hammered into board then pull out nail to make holes! Granted I haven't done any of this but my hands are weak. I just love your work and I'm inspired to get creating. You are so talented!
Grayce Kelly That sounds like it may work if you can keep your pages stable while hammering. Nothing ventured, nothing gained :) Also, I didn't show this but, if you also put a piece of foam on top of your cutting mat, the pokey tool will go through easier
Cheryl, have you ever found the need to also add the tyvek, or whatever it's called to the center page or envelope where you tie the thread to ensure it doesn't ripe through that way either?? As I was watching you do this I thought, that would really make it strong but I don't know if that's just totally overkill or could possibly help make a stronger book! Lol
Hello . Did I miss where you made all the paper books that your putting the holes in . Is there another video I missed ? Sorry to bother , I’m new to all this . Thank you ... This is beautiful ..
I know this is an older video but what did you put on your doily to make it have that pretty shine to it? Maybe mod podge? I love the way you made your book. It’s so pretty!
Thanks for the suggestion. I have used that too, but it was meant for something else and was getting ruined lol. One day I will find a large phone book somewhere
It's me again. What is the tool you used to make your holes & where do I find one? My answer to that would be a good old fashioned ice pick, but if you ask at a store for an ice pick, they look at you like you have horns. Also did you paint your doilies or is that the way they came ? I love the color & shine of them. Thank you for your videos. Now I need to go watch part 2.
Great tutorial. Why would that someone give you a thumbs down?! Geese! Are those actual doilies? I see they're so shiny. Just paint and seal maybe? If so with what? Oh, I think I just heard you say Decoupage. Is that what's on the doilies?
when eye strain is a problem for graphs and fine lines; cover all of the ones you are not using and it gets better, like slide a blank piece of paper over the ones you don't need to look at, and move it as you go.
Hi, I know it's been like 3 years ago since you made this tutorial on binding. Thank you for that. I have a question, are all the pages card stock? They all seem rather sturdy. I know you used doilies but the lined paper from regular lined note pad or did you print it yourself? Thank you so much for sharing. I love all your tutorials. You're such a good teacher.
It is regular paper, but I believe I used a 28 lb weight, which I no longer use. I now use a 26 lb weight. Yes I printed these myself from a digital kit I bought. She has since closed her store. I do have something similar in my store if you care to look. You can find me here at : www.delygirl1961.com
Thanks for the great tutorial, I can send you a phone book if you want me to. ... Do you remember the name of that cute corner punch? Your book is beautiful 💕
Girl! Stack those pages up, secure them with a couple of Vera Bradley clips, and get out that black and decker cordless drill and drill those holes! Zip zip zip and you are done and they are all the same. You are workin’ way too hard!
Your tutorials are great. Thank you so much Cheryl. And beautiful papers, such colors!
SO generous of you to show this. I learned a lot. Great tip about the pliers! Thank you so much, Cheryl. I love your videos!
You're very welcome
Great video. It has been years since I have done anything like this and will try it .
Awesome, thanks for watching

Sounds like a plan Valentina. How's the new place?
I find using a piece of thick craft foam under it works great! I love your videos!

Great idea, thanks for watching
Thank you for this video. I use binder clips to hold my pages while I poke my holes.
TheGlamGramma awesome whatever works
Wondering if it would work if you used a small hole punch for the holes. Love your videos and your journals!

I'm making notes in my craft journal...I'm learning! on to part 2
Great idea

Good idea Grayce, thanks

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Are you referring to the actual cover for the journal?

It is sprayed with a Lindy's Stamp Gang spray
Graph paper! Of course! Genius!
GM T
Haha, genius would be a little strong
Thanks for the tutorials! I have a piece of thick Styrofoam that I lay my things on to make the holes.. works great!
Thanks for the suggestion. I have used that too, but it was meant for something else and was getting ruined lol. One day I will find a large phone book somewhere

I use a Cinch by We R Memory Keepers. I spray my doilies with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays or Tattered Angels sprays
I just love how you designed the lined paper here ... did you stamp or stencil? So pretty!
Not sure where you mean, but I used a stamp on the lined paper, which I printed on the back
what tool were you using to poke holes in the paper?

No I used embossing powder on them. sometimes I spray them with Lindy's or Tattered Angels. These I believe I sprayed

cropadile by We R Memory Keepers
Thank you! I didn't know they had a small single hole punch. I thought cropadile's just had the big multi tool. Thanks again. :)
Thanks for the great tutorial, I can send you a phone book if you want me to. ... Do you remember the name of that cute corner punch? Your book is beautiful 💕
Not the name, only that it's a Martha Stewart punch around
Thanks, found it. Ordered it... It's really pretty..and your journals are gorgeous ..
Charlean Sherrod
Sorry, Charlean, I did find the name after I posted to you. Glad you found it though. It really is pretty
Ha ha, thanks.. I hope I ordered the right one, I also ordered Deco Fan around the page punch.
Ps..is it called swirling lace? Just checking.💕
Oh my gosh..find someone to give you a phone book...you won't struggle at all 😉.
Haha. We don't get the big ones anymore, only the small ones
Girl! Stack those pages up, secure them with a couple of Vera Bradley clips, and get out that black and decker cordless drill and drill those holes! Zip zip zip and you are done and they are all the same. You are workin’ way too hard!
Lol, I would probably drill through a finger!!
delygirl1961 but great video and a beautiful journal!
Your tongue 👅 has to be just right or you mess it up. Also the lips have to be kind of twisted.
You got that right 😀
On to Part 2!
