I really love this journal. And I'm typing through my tears now... I am so new to journaling, that I have only actually done two, and they are very basic. And I have been so excited to begin doing it on a regular basis. I just celebrated my 60th birthday a few weeks ago and have been very excited to start a new chapter of my life, so to speak. I've collected (hoarded?) stamps, journaling, scrap booking supplies, etc. etc. etc. for at least 10 years in my garage. Boxes and boxes. Bags and more bags. All filled with things I will get to "someday". Then I made the decision to actually start DOING and stop planning. So I went out a little while back and rented a small office space and named it THE Happy Place. It is going to be my craft studio. I've been very very excited to actually get things organized and get to work. Then came my birthday and I went down there with one of my daughters and started organizing things - excited to start making some journals, cards, and - well, just whatever else I can think of do to. Plans. Plans. Dreams. And Happy Thoughts. Then, a week ago today I was hit by a car. And I am thankful that I will recover, and am already improving. But it really freaked me out. I am the kind of person that actually lives my life. And I do my best not to take anything for granted. But as I was laying there in ICU I got to thinking about "what if" I had died? "What if" I had a broken back? "What if" ....? So I have been so very thankful for my life, for everything to do with my life on a level I have not experienced prior to this experience. I have noticed that I have been feeling very emotional for a couple of days. Then, as I began watching your video I was entranced by the beauty of it. I had already got caught up in the story of you being afraid to fly and the woman coming to your rescue (so to speak) by being your distraction during the flight. I just fell in love with that. And the cover is so beautiful. Pearls have always been my favorite. They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, but I am actually a pearl girl. And as you went through each page, describing and explaining, I just started feeling so happy - simply seeing such a beautiful gift you made for a complete stranger. She was a hero. And now, you are a hero too. Mine. To think of you making such a lovely and priceless gift for her is unbelievable. She will LOVE it! When you came to the page with the little card that said, "Life is a promise, Fulfill it" I felt teary. Then you went on through the book, and when you came to the lovely poem you typed: Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it, Memories are sweet, cherish them" I began to weep. It touched my soul. The words. The intention. Her kindness. And yours. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful journal with us. Me, being new to all this, seems so amazing that people can make such lovely things. And I wouldn't change a thing. She will cherish the gift, and you will cherish the memory of her kindness to you on that plane. You blessed me greatly today. I look forward to more of your beautiful creations in future videos.

I so love this. Like Kosher I am just beginning and have seen many videos of the junk journals and although I love them all I wonder what will people use them for. I think of course its beautiful. I so marvel at all the details in your journals that excite me. The sound of the paper, the doilies, the flower stamps, the tags, and the colors you work with to name some. The middle...I think its a great place for an insert.....whatever she wants to add. A date book, a brag book of photos, plain additional note paper, ect. So the only thing I would add is an elastic which she can use or not. Can't wait to see the next.. ..Big hugs, deb

I use instant coffee in a spray bottle. I get bored cooking paper in the kitchen, so I just dye each paper one by one as I need them. I use my heat gun at my craft desk. With the craft mat, you can heat right on it. Thanks for watching Donna
@@delygirl1961 I also spray my sheets as I need them. I spray 2 at a time. Tomorrow however, I am using food colors and a spray bottle...2 colors. I need to find more spray bottles and everywhere I go they are out. Is everyone playing with paper? I hope so. I have a crappy Dollar Tree. And one of the smaller Walmarts in the country too. So I have to travel 30 miles to get any decent crafting stuff or make do with what I can work with from home. I'd do have some graph paper in one of my paper packs so that makes me happy. Hubby made me get 2 of those paper packs as they were less than 4 dollars at Joanns with my coupons. Got home and they are cardstock paperbacks. Lots of gold foil too. Some will be covers, some will be signature cover papers. I like a few with covers inside the journal. I have made 3 journals, one which needs to have the signatures sewn in yet, it's the larger of my 3. Smallest will be a notebook in my purse. The best is middle sized and it's got a nice cover and I use eyeshadow for aging it. Needs some pockets, some other embellishment. Thanks for listening to the ramblings of an old woman...I'm 70. Wow, anybody would feel truly blessed to receive such a gift. Don't take it apart, as she uses it and adds her own notes, as stuff it will start to fill out the unused space. Any more signatures and it would look too full. You did a terrific job on that, I love it!!!

I use instant coffee in a spray bottle. I get bored cooking paper in the kitchen, so I just dye each paper one by one as I need them. I use my heat gun at my craft desk. With the craft mat, you can heat right on it. Thanks for watching Donna
@@delygirl1961 I also spray my sheets as I need them. I spray 2 at a time. Tomorrow however, I am using food colors and a spray bottle...2 colors. I need to find more spray bottles and everywhere I go they are out. Is everyone playing with paper? I hope so. I have a crappy Dollar Tree. And one of the smaller Walmarts in the country too. So I have to travel 30 miles to get any decent crafting stuff or make do with what I can work with from home. I'd do have some graph paper in one of my paper packs so that makes me happy. Hubby made me get 2 of those paper packs as they were less than 4 dollars at Joanns with my coupons. Got home and they are cardstock paperbacks. Lots of gold foil too. Some will be covers, some will be signature cover papers. I like a few with covers inside the journal. I have made 3 journals, one which needs to have the signatures sewn in yet, it's the larger of my 3. Smallest will be a notebook in my purse. The best is middle sized and it's got a nice cover and I use eyeshadow for aging it. Needs some pockets, some other embellishment. Thanks for listening to the ramblings of an old woman...I'm 70. It was, but when I went back home, I just did what she suggested and it worked!! Best flight I've had in a long time. Actually landed with a smile on my face lol.
That is good. It has been so long since I've been on a plane but I do remember the little flight from london to toronto on the tiny plane - no fun at all =)

I think of it this way, vintage looks aged, and shabby chic is roughed up but pretty pale colors
