Sailing Tip: Folding a Sail

Sailing Tips&Tricks: Using the boom or a mast section of a Laser to hold down the foot of the sail while folding it. This prevents the massive pain all dinghy sailors have dealt with... where the sail flies away while trying to fold it. If you sail a sailing dinghy other than a Laser where the mast and boom do not come out, there is likely two of you (such as a C420) but using the spinnaker pole is a great alternative.
How I fold my Laser sail, which you can see, is typically by starting at the head, and folding the correct size to fit the height of my sail bag. Once I get to the end, I fold it to the width of my sail bag from tack to clew or vice versa. Thanks for watching!
