I use to work as an assistant to the CEO of a multi-million dollar company. I learned a lot from that CEO. One thing I've learned is how valuable time is and usually keeping it simple is more. Now I'm a CEO/founder of my own company. From a business owner perspective, this branding process is quite extensive and long. Time is money like you said. I understand you are trying to get in an idea of what the client wants, however filling out forms, reading a book, and having several meetings seems to be time consuming. You have to remember that you are in competition with other marketers/graphic designers that are pushing their presentations as well. It can be too overwhelming to a point where the client might drop and move along.
Hi Abi, would you be able to squeeze in a segment where you give us weekly tasks that could help us boost ourselves in the brand design process and building portfolios. This would help me and possibly others who are beginners or anyone who just needs design inspo a great deal.

As a graphic design student i'm struggling to have a consistent design process, and actually watching and getting to know yours has been very insightful 😊 everyone's process is different but i like how organised and meticulous you are! This is very interesting, thank you Abi. The idea of presenting one logo instead of several is quite new to me. I'm so used to presenting several at work. But I also haven't come across presenting mood boards to set the creative direction. I've started to do mood boards (thanks to your mood board video) and it has helped me a lot in design development, but I haven't reached the point of presenting the boards themselves to the client yet. I suppose different work situations require different processes and it's up to us to discern what's best. Thanks so much and very insightful. :)
I've been there! But I actually found when switching to the one concept method I would get less revisions from clients! You're completely right about different work situations require different processes, but I'm glad to hear the videos have helped you 😊

Oh wow, that one logo concept method is brilliant! I always try to design at least 2 logo concepts for my client to choose from, but I realised it just prolongs the project timeline because either they can't pick which one they like the most or because they want to see other variations of the logo concepts, if that makes sense lol . I'm so switching to the one logo concept method from now on. Thank you Abi! Also it would be awesome to create a video about what you ask in the questionnaire, feedback and review form :)

For example, what would you response when the client is not happy with the first design and they want a new concept (usually logo design is easier, but for bigger projects like web design, that's like extra work)? Oh wow, that one logo concept method is brilliant! I always try to design at least 2 logo concepts for my client to choose from, but I realised it just prolongs the project timeline because either they can't pick which one they like the most or because they want to see other variations of the logo concepts, if that makes sense lol . I'm so switching to the one logo concept method from now on. Thank you Abi!

So yes, they get complimentary fonts alongside there Primary logo type, so they can use when creating a social media post or for website text!

I would LOVE to see very in depth video on this process because I need everything explained to the smallest detail :D This was very helpful though. I find that I always set up some system for myself and then it falls apart for one reason or other.

For example, what would you response when the client is not happy with the first design and they want a new concept (usually logo design is easier, but for bigger projects like web design, that's like extra work)? And how would you response if the client is still not happy after all 2 revisions? If you have any videos talking about taking on client feedback, that will be very helpful! Thanks!

It's so helpful thank you! I've just send some propositions to my client and I couldn't decide so I send 5! He choose one but he still wants something different. How you managed that long process of conversation with them to have few clients in a month, I feel thankful for video but also stressed that I would never get that level of being confident :D

If you were to come up with a course I would spend all my money in it, not even gonna lie. I've learned so so much just from you that I'm amazed! Thank you! I had a question about coming up with the personas for the audience. How do you go about doing that? Maybe that could be in a future video? Just a thought. Are they from your own imagination or do you actually interview people? If we come up with a persona from our imagination, how do weake sure that it is accurate?
